Special Ordering
Special ordering games at GameCrazy is $6+tax ($10+tax for consoles), and the company then searches all inventory in all stores to find a copy of that game, then ships it to the store you placed the order in.

With new games, it does not guarantee they will be sealed. With used games, it does not guarantee they will be complete (only guaranteed to work).

Here's a list of the NEW games you CANNOT special order currently (reprints may have an effect on the current list, as will trade-ins and inventory checks).

The best part about that list is that the ad on the website for special ordering mentions Contra:
Can't seem to find Contra? Is your mind stuck on a SNES? Dreamcast still not dead to you? Well if you are looking for hard-to-find games, your first stop should be your local Game Crazy.

This reminded me that I have $6 put down on a copy of MUSHA at some GameCrazy on the East side of I-275. It's had to be pretty close to a year now. Maybe I should check to see how that's going.

I'm actually about to go throw down with the managers of one of the Gamecrazy in town. They are telling me that I cant cancel/get refunded a 4 month old order of Disgaea even though it never came in.

Yeah, you can, as long as you have the original receipt (they need that to make sure you don't try to get it refunded twice). If they refuse, ask for the DM's name and "audix number" (and I'll help you from there ;)).

i will never do special orders again

i ordered 2 copies of monster rancher 4 NEW 9.99

they made me take 2 used copies at 8.99... (it was either take them or lose the 12 bucks i paid to do the speical orders)

that's BS, it should be right there in the computer.

Wow, so I'm going to have to try to find my receipt for this, huh? Definitely the last time I'm going to do the "Special Order" thing at GC. It's a pretty good idea in concept though.

In fact, I'd like to start my own "Special Order" program. Just send shipwreck $6 for whatever game you are looking for. If I then happen to come across it, I will sell it to you for fair market value. Sound good? You're probably more likely for me to find these games than you are GC as I shop at a lot of different stores frequently, so keep that in mind when deciding who to give your $6 to. And I have perfect CAG feedback compared to the 0 that GC is putting up, so it's plain to see who CAGs trust around here. :)

I know for a fact that Gamecrazy can't special order a new Ikaruga or SMT: Digital Devil Saga 1 now... but there's so much else that can be special ordered... good times.
that's BS, it should be right there in the computer.
thats the weird part. It IS in the computer. The guy didnt know how to process the refund, so he calls someone, and then I get told that pre-orders cant be refunded(which they can). Then I try to tell them that it wasnt a pre-order, it was a SPECIAL ORDER, and that these are in fact, two different things(regardless that both special and pre-orders are refundable)

People with actual power were not at the store at the time, so as soon as I can locate the receipt I'm gonna go back and raise some hell.

So basically, any game worth the extra $6 to get ahold of, you cant special order.

The manager at my Gamecrazy is really cool. I went in there and they had secret of mana supposedly in the store, but they couldnt find it. So he put in a special order for it for me for free. That was a month ago tho, and no phonecall yet...

i ordered a suikoden 2 at a gamecrazy about 15 miles away before they put it on the excluded list a few years ago. they've never called me since

you can order the ace combat 5 bundle for like 59.99 + 6.00 for shipping. A guy in my store just got his copy. IT was used but it worked and he also got his MVP discount on it as well.

Good thing they follow up on things .

Oh , and

GameCube
Star Wars Jedi Knight- Jedi Academy

doesn't exist .

djkunai i have a question about special ordering how hard does gamecrazy try to find these games do they look it up in a system and find out what store has what or do they actually have to call different stores and see if they have it or not.

this used to be a good program until it gained mainstream attention. now they basically don't care except to take your $6 and never call you back. That is, unless you're special ordering something like Need for speed underground 2 or some bullshit.

depends on who is working...Gamecrazy in Niles, IL made sure I was informed about my games and got them to me in 2 weeks.

then the guys at Madison hardly let me place an order, told me it would never come in, and I placed an order anyway after arguing with them. That was 2 weeks ago. Called today and they told me it'll take another 8 weeks for them to find out if the game is even at another store. BS.

I'm a Store Director at Game Crazy and the special orders have really picked up lately. The biggest delay in getting orders to customers is sometimes the way the staff works. The SO department is very prompt on searching for the requested games but if the staff does not send it out right away or does not call the customer is the game is being delayed or can not be found, then it makes the store look bad. Myself, I ship out all my special orders immediately after receiving a call from the SO department.

A special order costs $6 (on top of the cost of the game), and if the game cannot be found, the $6 is refunded, right?

definitely.... no problems at all. the special orders are now fully computerized so they should have you in the system.
They go for up to $40 on eBay. I'll give you $20 for it, as long as it works fine.
Wow! I just checked and I had no idea GBA GameSharks/Action Replays were worth that much these days. Glad I got one awhile ago for cheap. Makes me regret all the times I passed them up on clearance at Wal-Mart.

When this first started...I was in heaven. I grabbed so many Secret of Manas, Mario RPG, etc...all went to ebay. Mwuahah
I hope you die.
You know you would do it if you could. It was even better to buy them during the 3 for 15. Good times.

I wouldn't have eBayed, I would have special-ordered all the games for SNES I don't have. I did SO some stuff before the first 3/$15 sale- Paper Mario and Harvest Moon 64.

When that 3for15 first hit, I went nuts. Paper Mario, Harvest Moon 64, Ogre Battle 64, Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, a few others.. it was a good time.
When that 3for15 first hit, I went nuts. Paper Mario, Harvest Moon 64, Ogre Battle 64, Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, a few others.. it was a good time.
Yeah, good times. Now its mostly crap.
Yeah, good times. Now its mostly crap.
Not always.. you'd be suprised at what some people trade in.. though the workers always grab it before it's had a chance to get put on the shelf. You'd do the same thing if you still worked there :p With the recent release of the VC, many people have been trading in older junk.. lots of FF7's, FF8's, FF9's, even rare SNES games.. I scored both Lufia's for 4.99 each :D

Do the titles on this list remain non-SO forever? What if I was able to walk into a GC and SO one of these, would that mean that they're off this list?
Do the titles on this list remain non-SO forever? What if I was able to walk into a GC and SO one of these, would that mean that they're off this list?
No. You can special order the titles on the cannot find list. It's just useless to do so and your oder will never come in. Your best bet is to ask the employee to see the "can not find" list for special order titles. But there's nothing that'll pop up and say anything if you try to SO something like Barbie's Horse Adventure on XBox. It'll just never come in.

Also.. I can't get the ahold of the list, so someone needs to update this list
