CAGiversary!
ALL INFO AND DEALS FOR GAMERUSH (pm/post with any suggestions)

If your in the Oklahoma City area stop by my store at Nw 50th and MacArthur (for now). If your a flipper/scammer at least spare my store the crap titles unless its for presales...thanks. If your good I may hook up with with a special "modification" to a current deal that you may greatly enjoy...

Please note in the next few weeks I will be changing stores to Hefner and Rockwell. They needed the help and while I like my store the pay raise was justifiable and my current sm is moving to pittsburg.

Current Deals

Trade 3 games get an extra $5 per game (LAST DAY IS MAY 16!)

Beginning March 15th till May 23rd, trade 3 games get an extra $5 per game. PSP, NDS, GBA, Xbox, Gcube, and PS2 only. No sports games before '04 and no Freestyle Street Soccer, or minigames/demo discs (the usuals). Also be aware some titles that sell for $4.99 may not work either (Haven, Project Eden, etc.) So don't get upset when they don't.

You may be limited to 10 per day though YMMV.

Trade 2 games and get New Releases and Pre-Orders for $29.99 til September 5th (subject to change)

Should go till September 5th. New releases and Preorder games only $29.99 with 2 game trades (see exclusions above or aka the usual).

This works on all preowned games including retro/n64. If any employee disagrees they can call my store at 1-700-22-40049 (not many people know about it but it calls the store in the company by the last 5 digits store code).

Buy 1 Preowned game get another 1 for 50% off. Takes off lowest priced title so separate and make sure employee scans your groups and barcode seperate.
Price and selection will vary by location and quantities are limited. Offer not valid on previously rented movies, sale items or in conjunction with any other discount or offer. Discount taken at register and will be applied towards lowest price games(s). Customer responsible for applicable taxes. Limit 2 per title per customer per day. Maximum of 20 Pre-owned games per customer per day.

1 out = $14.99 the first month....$19.99 thereafter
2 out= $24.99 the first month...$29.99 thereafter

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). $0.99 Retro Games

All Dreamcast, Snes, Genesis, and Nes games are $0.99. Games available depend on which store you go to. Games may not be marked as $0.99, but they will ring up that price. Trade in value of all games on these systems is now $0.25.

OTHER INFO

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you.

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) they do have the abillity to ban you from all GameRush locations if they want to (and as I have done but that was only because I was tired of crap PS1...).

Release dates - Go by the shipping date. 9 times out of 10 it is not what the Blockbuster computer says. The computer date is when traditional stores can expect to receive their rental games.

Game Rush receives games typically on Tuesday and Wednesday of the games release. Only reason EB and Gamestop get them a day before is because they get special shipments or their dm picks the games up and brings back that evening (or they are near distribution centers).

Some games have street dates but this is few and far between (outrun 2, halo 2, star wars episode 3, doom 3 are it in the past 6 months).

damn, nice. sorry for all these dumb posts, but gamerush is the best store ever. i am getting games for around $25 a piece, and all it takes is a 5 minutes stop at gamerush. to get brand new games for 50% off is so amazing. and then they give so much credit. i have picked up 6 games from gamerush in the last month, i have 6 on preorder (going to preorder 2 more this week), and i still have $175 in credit. i have been going to gamerush since september. i remember the drake deals they had. it was insane. i have spent about $400-$500 out of pocket since september, and i have gotten around 15 new games, a psp (from FYE for around $100 out of pocket), and i still have 6 on preorder. these boards saved me a ton of money. gamerush is the best store. all of those games and the psp at $250 would have cost me about $1300!!!! (250 for psp, 15 games at $50 each, 6 on preorder at $50 each). i am in awe that i saved around $800-$900. crazy stuff. and i still have $175 in credit. thanks to everyone on these boards
Went to GR today... They told me I couldn't exchange my pre-order for another game of the same price. How stupid is that? I mean, If I pre-ordered the other game - The price would of been the samething right????
I really don't get it. It's not like I hoard or take advantage like some of you guys. You would think they could treat me better after spending over $1000 in that store this year so far. Plus I traded in my Nintendo DS and an insane amount of movies, they got damn near every ps2 game i ever had ! No respect at all. Maybe I should start flipping games and then they'll have an excuse to treat me that way.
I'm guessing that this has something to do with quotas on pre-orders...they make it difficult to cancel the first one and hope you pre-order another. There is a bit of competition between my two local stores for trade-ins and pre-orders. Having said that, I agree that they should have done the exchange without hassle...especially with your history there.

My GR experience today. Went to pick up my Doom 3 CE (pre-ordered) and decided to browse the used games as usual. Previously, my best find was a used Suikoden III for $19.99. Today I find two games I think are rare/valuable: Star Ocean: The Second Story (mint and complete) and Resident Evil 2 GC. I am aware the value of RE2 has fallen recently but I figure I still got a good buy. Star Ocean $17.99 and Resident Evil 2 $17.99. Of course I did the buy two get one free and throw in Pikmin ($17.99) for free. All three for $36 + tax. Good deal I think. Anybody give me an idea on the value of Star Ocean? Thanks in advance.

If you have timesplitters PS2 and the barcode matches the one at wherehouse.com, you could get something like $25 a piece for them.

My GR introduced an exclusion list for the extra $5 when you trade in three games. Is this nationwide? I must say I was a bit suprised. The list appeared to be several pages long. Anyone else confirm?

Anyone know if GR is taking pre-orders on the following games. Most are small runs so not sure if they would be carrying them since they didnt carry games like Growlanser.

Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana (PS2)
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2 (PS2)
Stella Deus: The Gate of Eternity (PS2)
Megic Pengel 2: Graffiti Kingdom (PS2)
Makkai Wars (PSP)
Persona (PSP)

Any help would be great thanks.

That one is in their computers; I asked for that game like 2 months ago and they had it in the system already.

I hope that it is not national - that would be devastating... I know there are some GR employees that post to this thread - what's up? Fortunately I'm almost done trading but I was hoping for at least 2 more double-dip $5 extra/preorders. Also, I was hoping to get a few more with the next round of Target clearances (whenever that might be).

Traded these lovely games in today (with $5 extra)

PN03 $8.00
Lupin The 3rd $17.50
Billy Hatcher $13.00

Proceeded to get these four used games in return for a total of $5 out of pocket

Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes
Dual Hearts (complete and mint)
Boktai 2 (complete and mint)
Twisted Metal Black

Pretty good haul I think :)

I go in today so if there is anything I will know. Most likely this is a store thing and the managers just tired of getting all this crap (honestly I've thought about it a few times but what blockbuster has is sufficient for me as for some reason we have freaks that it does sell too)

Even with quick math

Most of the crap that you can still use in the deal sells at $6.99. $6.99 x 3 = 20.97 - $49.99 = $29.02. Blockbuster may not really be losing out on much or breaking even at the very least. Now when people double dip thats when it all goes to hell.

Checked the computer system yesterday and the new Jak and Ratchet games are already in there (at $49.99 each) and the Halo 2 expansion pack ($19.99). The only Fire Emblem GCN game in the system bears the name of the future GBA title, but is listed under Gamecube for $29.99. Also Gamerush stores should have received the pre-order promotional items for Pokemon Emerald (tin) and Midnight Club 3 (CD), along with some Splinter Cell Chaos Theory neon green bracelets (like the Livestrong ones).

My adventures at Gamerush:

Well today I traded the following (prices reflect $5 bonus, and all are PS2)

Echo Night Beyond - $30 (bought from EB for $10, HOTNESS)
Timesplitters 1 - $8 (bought from EB for $5)
Unreal Tournament - $12 (bought from EB for $6)
2x XIII @ $6.50 each (bought from EB for $3 each)

Total - $63 (for $28 cash outlay + tax)

However, a manager was rumbling that games which have a pre-bonus trade value of $3 or less were NOT compatible with the $5 bonus. Though the computer DID allow it, I had to make the employee give it to me.

Also over the last week I’ve flipped 11 games, and ended up making very little profit off of it and I didn’t get banned or anything crazy like that. It’s just too easy for my profit margin to be obliterated by a game suddenly dropping too low to qualify for the bonus, or if an employee refuses a game because it isn’t clean enough.

I know, what's amazing is that the GR i traded that copy to use to have a copy of Echo Night in stock. They sold it this past week for $40 USED. I was shocked someone would buy it for that.

Earlier I traded in two copies of KOF MI I got from Meijer for $10 each for $60 credit after bonus.

Anyway I suspect all the EB stores are going to get cleaned out of Echo Night pretty damn fast now.

I hope they don't catch on to this before I can get paid on Friday because I will be one hoarding SOB because I have like 6 BB and 1 GR within 10 Miles of me.

ahteist_boy, thanks a bunch. i will definately go to both of my gamerushes today, and drop of a copy of echo night beyond at both of them. thanks agian.
What are the gamerush prices on the sandisk memory stick pro duos?

128, 256, 512 are the ones im interested in
at my gamerush they were pretty expensive. i think it was 45 for the 128, 55 for the 256. you can get a 512 online and shipped for 59

just called my gamerush, and i can confirm that you get 25 for echo night beyond BEFORE the extra 5 trade in credit. im going to go to my gamerush to trade in

timesplitters-8 (cost 5)
stuntdriver-8 (cost 5)
echo night beyond-30 (cost 10)
virtual fighter 4-10 (cost 6)
kessen-10 (cost 6)
echo night beyond-30 (cost 10)

i will then preorder 3 games for 30 each. cost me 42 out of pocket for games. i get in credit 96!!! with tax it is 96 for the 3 games, so i basically just got 3 games for 14 bucks a piece. insanity!!! atheist_boy, you are my hero!!!

My Gamerush already had a God Of War used... who would trade these in this early???

Wow I just had such a great session of scamming (or flipping as you guys call it) gamerush.

It all started with a trip to the novi/northville EBgames (on haggerty between 6 and 7) where I bought their last two copies of echo night. Took them to the novi gamerush (9 mile and novi) and traded in (with the 5 bonus already added):

1 copy of echo night - 30
Metal arms glitch in the system (cockbox)- 13.50 (paid 5 bestbuy.com)
XIII (ps2) - 6.50 (paid 5 best buy B&M)

So then I headed to the farmington hill gamerush and traded in these two games:

another echo night - 25
future tactics (ps2) - 1.50

Used the trade two get a new game for 30 deal to snag a copy of Resident Evil 4 and with the leftover credit and about 10 bucks cash out of pocket got a 256 MB sandisk pro duo for 49.99

So basically I got RE4 and a 256 MB Memory stick for around 30 dollars.

I AM THE KING...well maybe not :whistle2:(

it is for PS2
wow. i cant believe you found a used doom 3 CE. good deal.
It pays to be on good terms with the manager. :) They usually keep the really new, really good used stuff behind the counter. From that one store, I've picked up MGS 3: Snake Eater and Ratchet 3 the same week they came out, too.

They also had a God of War and a Tekken 5 used. It's not as surprising to see these available at GR, since they pay so well for trades -- as opposed to getting bent over by EB or GStop.

I don't consider that flipping. You are buying at one company and selling at another. I would call it flipping if you were buying at say, GR and then driving across town to another GR and selling/trading the games you just got. I think if you are using different company's everyone wins. If you are using the same company that company is getting scizrewed.

well, if this echo night trades in at $25 (pre$5 goodness) then trade 2 at a time to get a new/preorder for $20+taxes. Seems like a nice deal for a discount.

I traded my Shellshock for $22 or so (no $5 bonus), but that was about 2 months ago. Still, I imagine it would get you $18 at the very least after the bonus -- my guess is more, though.

See that's why me and my friends just call it scamming it's easier than having all this different terminology. Basically anything that has to do with gamerush we call scamming. Even if it's just a legitimate purchase using cash it would still be called scamming.

made the best run at gamerush i have ever made, and ive been a customer for 7 months.
all include extra $5
first gamerush:
traded in:
echo nights x2=60 (20 for both from eb)
Stuntman-8 (5 from GS)
Timesplitters-8 (5 from GS)
Unreal Tournament-12 (8 from GS)
Virtual Fighter 4-8 (6 from GS)

Preordered- The Legend of Zelda, Gran Turismo 4:Mobile, and Far Cry: Instincts

Second Gamerush:
echo nights-30 (10 from eb)
Stuntman-8 (5 from GS)
Virtual Fighter 4-8 (6 from GS)

Preordered- Grand Theft Auto:pSP

total spent=66
Credit Recieved=142
Credit Spent=120
Out of Pocket for 4 games=$44!!!

11 bucks for a game is ludicris. i still have $201 in credit, and now i have 10 games paid in full. the rest of my credit will be used for next generation. i am so damn happy

is eb still running their g2g1 deal or something. dont know if its worth spending cash to rack up credit, especially when games fall in prices so fast now a days, and with all these great deals, the que is getting longer and longer. I guess that the credit would be good to have to purchase systems at 50%+ off (spend cash get 2-3x spent in credit?)

Do most EBs have copies of Echo Night Beyond? I would call mine but its past 9pm now. Hopefully I will be the first person to pick one up in the morning :).

my local store had 3.

just to give everyone a heads up, as of now, gamerush is only charging $39.99 for gran turismo 4:mobile. i am assuming most stores will end up charging 50 since the game will be a big release.

I checked and next to my stores it said to "Call store to confirm price, availability and condition". So I am not sure if they have it.
