This is how every bioshock thread on the internet seems to be.
InuFaye, I looked for word that anything is different besides DX10 effects. If you have a link, I would like to see it. I find it highly illogical for them to talk so importantly about the AI interactions and then them dumbing the AI on 360 down. I can understand if you have a DX10 PC, there is a dicision to make, but not many people have to.

I wasnt impressed by the oblivion CE, because the case was the LOTR style folder. The steel case for this made my decision. If I go to pick it up and I the case is more complicated than just opening, I may just get the regular. The rest of the kit be damned.

I found it on an interview with ken levine somewhere, ill dig it up when i have more time.
Although you do raise an interesting question: if the Wii controller eventually reaches the point where it's superior to using a keyboard and mouse for FPS games, would PC gamers bragging about having more accuracy from a mouse all move over to the Wii?
They'd make a Wii-style controller for the PC. I mean Duh.

You guys play on your consoles and HDTVs and surround sound, I'll play on my PC with three 22" widescreens with surround sound headphones, and we can all feel superior to each other.

For what it's worth, I'm always thrilled when mods for the PC version pop up. I often buy the PC version hoping for mods in the future.
It's all just rubbish

As I stated, I manage a GS, my store is my DM's home store, none of the store's in our area open but one of the new games to put out on the shelf. If someone brings me that new game, I make sure to give them an unopened one (pending I have it of course).

We get display boxes for games that are on reserve, then we're made to take them down when the game comes out.

Don't mistake my posts as being Pro-GameStop...I, on the contrary, am not a big fan of them, but a job is a job. I'm merely pointing out some of the gross lies that are coming out at the head of someone who was admittedly Anti-EB/GS
You must have missed this

Gamestop is not best known for it's honest business practice.

Like many others I have seen them trying to sell New games that were taken out of box already. Most of the time I would reject them. They should sell them as Open box at a discount.

I had to jump on it. I only own between 1 and 3 other CE games (and I can't even think of what they are, outside of FFXII); since I can't stop the "CE" onslaught in the future, I might as well encourage good CE sets, like this 'un.

I definetly got the Limited Edition game fever this year

GTA: Special Edition
Halo 3: Legendary Edition
Mass Effect: Collector's edition
Bioshock :LE
Assasin's Creed: LE

Wait a second, You mean I have to preorder it from gamestop.com? Can't I just "reserve" it in a store?

I caved. Since I missed the Liongames pre-order I figured if I'm going to pay close to full price anyway might as well get a LE that's actually worthwhile.

Did I miss something? Is there a Mass Effect CE?

If there is then excuse my ignorance.
Thanks Masterchip, I appreciate it. I already preordered the reg. from Lions, but If I love the game as much as I think I will I'll probably end up getting this too.
That's the thing though...they have a Confirmed European release of January for this, but here in the states, nothing's been announced, but if it's going on in the UK, it'll most likley happen here.

It looks like at Gamestop the coupon code "SAVER" is still active which gets you free value shipping ($2.99 value). Or if you're getting the guide the coupon code "20GUIDE" will get you 20% off the guide ($2 value).

Hmm that saver code is alright, if I throw in a preorder for Brain Age 2, I get free shipping on both games even though they will ship seperately.

Trigger pulled. Use the "SAVER" code.

My question hasn't been answered.

Any Gamestop, EBgames location, or Gamestop.com or EBgames.com
I take it that the pre-order swag is delivered at release and not given at pre-order, correct?
The swag is included in the special tin box. Kinda like Gears of War CE, GS Exclusive RE4...etc.
Any Gamestop, EBgames location, or Gamestop.com or EBgames.com
Oh, Good. I'll "Reserve" it then. :)

I "reserved" Mine. I hope it isn't opened when I get it. I said "Sealed" So I should Be OK.
For $69.99 you could do worse. This is a pretty sweet set up. As for limited, I believe it won't be Final Fantasy limited, I don't think they will be that many considering the demand. This preorder reminds me alot of the metal gear 3 sub. glad I got in on that. I would preorder this one if you want it. I believe the demand will be high enough to snatch these up.
I'm thinking this will go along the same lines as the Ninja Gaiden Sigma CE.

It was out, then went OOP real quick. Now it goes for around $100 + shipping on Ebay, given it was $70 at retail...

I'm just saying if you're a collector, I don't think you'd want to wait too long otherwise you might never get a crack at it.

I think so far FFXII CE has been the only one recently to be still readily available at a GS/EB
No, they're not going for $100. Most used ones are going for about $50-60 shipped and most new ones $70-90 shipped. There are some exceptions, but very few are $100 + shipping.

Smackdown vs. Raw 360 has still pretty common.

I ran across Transformers Cybertron edition used today for 34.99 at a mom and pop shop.. I was extremely happy. Preordered the Bioshock LE, don't want to miss this one. I didn't think I'd ever end up finding the Cybertron edition.
It's funny that it says "Game Feed will have it's Bioshock review when it's released this holiday season" .... isn't the release date later this month?
Yes. As I said in the Bioshock thread in the 360 forum, that guy is acting like all of this is brand new information. "The Bioshock CE appears to come with a Big Daddy figure. There was a contest back in March of 07 and apparently Big Daddy won."

We've known this since April or May.. I guess word doesn't get there fast.

That's the European version, I believe. It's tough to think the box will differ dramatically when it's released here in three weeks.
That's the European version, I believe. It's tough to think the box will differ dramatically when it's released here in Two weeks.
Fixed.

Dammit.

I have the 40 dollar standard version ordered from liongames, but this CE looks cool as hell. Definitely worth 10 dollars more, maybe even 20, but I can't see myself spending 30 extra dollars on it, almost double the price I'm paying for the standard version.

now that's a fucking Collector's Edition :)

I have lion games pre-order, but I might just get this CE, then sell that.

That's definitely the European version. Not saying the US version won't be packaged like that, but just be aware. Bottom left corner gives it away.

I knew it just looking at the rating. "18+"

Hopefully the US release will be just like the european one. (Don't quote me saying "the boxart will be a bit different")

I'd love to have that figure, but I'm not sure how big it is. I think I'll just save the 10 bucks and get the standard version. Most of the time when I end up buying a CE version of a game, I regret it.
I'd love to have that figure, but I'm not sure how big it is.
14mm or 5 1/2" tall.

Im gonna have to get my ass to gamestop and preorder. Heres hoping they actually have enough copies to fill the preorders

I pre-ordered at GS a few weeks back. Then caved and decided to save the money by going the Lion Games route. Then yesterday decided the LE is too cool to pass up and canceled my LG order. lol

So we've seen the final "Hellraiser Cube" packaging, but what about confirmation of its true contents?

As someone previously noted, thee are 2 diferent pictures at the GS/EB preorder page. The smaller picture is indeed showing the poster, stickers, art booklett, etc...

But then again, the STALKER limited edition swag varied from country to country (with Poland's version definitely being the coolest), and ppl were ordering it with no idea what they'd receive...

From the Cult of Rapture website:

I have been getting messages asking about an update on the BioShock Collector's Edition for countries other than the US and Canada, and I finally have an update for you.

The Collector's Edition will be available at selected retailers in Australia and New Zealand as well as most European countries including:
Austria
Belgium
Denmark
France
Germany
Italy
Netherlands
Norway
Spain
Sweden
Switzerland
UK

The BioShock Collector's Edition is available for PC and Xbox 360 and contains the game in a limited edition embossed steel case, a Making Of DVD, Soundtrack CD, hand finished resin figurine (14cm height).

I do not have a list of all the specific retailers as of now, but will update you with more details (including a finalized picture of the packaging) when I have more news!

Sounds like it is the same everywhere.

If the other LE contents photograph (poster, stickers, etc.) is merely a fan's rendition, I wonder why EB/GS would risk using it on the order page (what with the potential for false advertising and all).

Speaking of the big daddy figurine, the one that is being sold as a stand-alone figure looks like shite compared to the LE figure:

LE Figure ("Pretty, ain't I!" - might have to click past team xbox ad)

Stand-Alone Figure ("I'm the LE figure being rendered on a Geforce2 series card, circa 2001 - where did my textures go??")

:)
