This for example (the face plate sticker) I didn't care that much since its just a sticker, but I'm probably going to buy it at eb to use the 10% off. Is it possible that if I ask for one they would give me one?
Depends if they have them available to give out at time of reserve. Some promtional items are attached to the game box in a LE form (Bioshock), other are shipped separately at time of release (Conan for the 360), while others are given out at time of reserve.

If they get them to give out at time of reserve, they have "extras", and they're feeling nice, they might give you one for free.
I live about 45 minutes away from the closest GameStop but my mom has a long commute and goes by a bunch of them on the way to work so I asked her to pre-order the PC LE version. When she got home I asked her if she remembered to get the LE version and she said she didn't specify. The receipt doesn't say what version was pre-ordered just 200224 BioShock 64.34. Can any of you tell which item it is by the item number? I assume the item was $59.99 before tax so based on price it would either have to be the PC LE or the 360 regular version I would think.
Seeing as the LE is $69.99 before tax, I would say you got the regular version.
Gamestop is tiny compared to Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and Target. Why do you think you see clearance merchandise all over those places? Buying product is a gamble and smaller companies can't stomach it.
Gamestop is far from tiny. They are the second largest retail store for videogames, only beaten by Wal-Mart. They sell more games than Target, Best Buy, or anybody else, and still fake like they need pre-orders to gauge demand. It's all fleecing the customer, more and more. Generation by generation.

Good to hear the LE's are selling for that much, though. I still wouldn't put a game or other figurine anywhere in sight in my house. I just don't like it. I'd sell that LE while you can, though. These kind of things usually spike in price at launch and then fall sharply in demand.

I think he just means he doesn't like clutter. He probably keeps his games hidden away in a closet or something like I do.

I also think he's right about GS LEs in general--they don't hold their value too well, so it's best to flip these right away if you're into that sort of thing.

I'm going to pass on keeping an LE myself. The more I look at the package and think about what I did and didn't like about the demo, I don't think this game is going to find a permanent spot in my collection. Also don't want no cheapo figure breaking on me before I even open the box.

Hmm I use my Video game stuff to decorate my room, I've got all the system boxes on top of my bookshelf.

This is an old picture, but you get the idea.

Collectible figures are one thing, but console boxes?

Those eBay auctions are insane. On one hand, I want the LE to really be that rare for my own selfish reasons, but on the other, it'd be pretty funny if they ended up like the overprinted FFXII CE. Paying $150-200 for an unreleased game not connected to the Neo-Geo is just stupid.

Well, unless you're Agent Zero and would rather not deal with GS on a Tuesday afternoon with the rest of the rabble. I'd accept that.

 Yeah my family thinks i'm crazy.

OT, but to each their own. I would love to decorate the rooms of my house with posters of Jessica Alba and gaming-related stuff, but the wife wouldn't approve. I'm sure my kids will make their rooms interesting when they're older.

That sucks. I let my boyfriend put up as many posters as he likes (mainly cause I like all the video game and movie posters too). ;-) Currently, even walls in the kitchen have posters...LOL.

That's the Xbox 360 LE. The PC LE is $10 cheaper than the 360 LE. The PC LE and the 360 regular versions are the same price; both are $59.99. I called GS and it turned out my mom pre-ordered the regular 360 version.

Why are most of you guys getting the 360 version anyway? The PC version is much better.

yeah the PC version may be better, but you probably need a nice high end computer to achieve that. Where the console market is easy for people to pick up and play and achieve what is promised without the hassles and upgrades. I will probably pick up the PC version later this year when I get enough money to upgrade my computer.

PC gaming sucks. I would see my LE for $100 in a second. I'll have to check that out but I'm sure eBay will be saturated by Tuesday.

Agreed. My xbox-360 is much better for gaming then my PC. Let alone my 360 will be on a much better set up, 61" versus 22" and much more powerful surround sound

My PC can barely run Firefox and iTunes at the same time. It also shit the bed when I was playing the original King's Quest.

...so I don't think it could handle Bioshock.
 Oh god, please be exagerating.
Yes, and no. Sometimes it has severe problems running what I would expect to be very simple applications/programs/tasks. I live with it because I use it to download and listen to music and to browse teh intrawebz.

Here are the PC requirements:

Minimum System Requirements:
# Operating Systems: Windows XP (with Service Pack 2) or Windows Vista
# CPU: Pentium 4 2.4GHz Single Core processor
# System RAM: 1GB
# Video Card: Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 128MB RAM (NVIDIA 6600 or better/ATI X1300 or better, excluding ATI X1550).
# Sound Card: 100% direct X 9.0c compatible sound card Hard disc space: 8GB free space
Recommended System Requirements:
# Operating Systems: Windows XP (with Service Pack 2) or Windows Vista
# CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo processor
# System RAM: 2GB
# Video card: DX9: Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 512MB RAM (NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT or better) DX10: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 or better
# Sound Card: Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ series (Optimized for use with Creative Labs EAX ADVANCED HD 4.0 or EAX ADVANCED HD 5.0 compatible sound cards)

My computer is over three years old and exceeds the minimum requirements. You consider a computer that old high end? It seems like if you've bought a decent computer in the last few years you should be able to play BioShock.

I was tempted to rush in to building a PC so I could have it in time for this game, but it already looks amazing on the 360. I doubt the PC version on min reqs will look as good.
That sucks. I let my boyfriend put up as many posters as he likes (mainly cause I like all the video game and movie posters too). ;-) Currently, even walls in the kitchen have posters...LOL.
Rub it in why don't you. :)

Nah, as cool I think it sounds in theory, I'm sure my wife is right and even I would find that shit tacky after a while.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Again i come in here to find the PC gaming sucks, and you need a ton of cash to game on PC. LIES.

A decent gaming PC can be built for around 800 dollars, not the thousands that you think it takes.

Unless you have some serious cash invested into home theater, your home surrround isint gonna put out the same as my 7.1 and my creative x-fi.

And for the critics of thinking that you dont want to play it on 22", then hook it up to your HDTV.

Im getting tired of the baseless bashing of the PC on these fourms, ive been here awhile and it just gets worse all the time.

I was a PC gamer for a number of years, but now I've switched to consoles. Why? Because in order to play games in the resolution I want, and the graphics cranked I did have to upgrade my PC every year to year and a half, which got really old. That's not mentioning the driver issues, windows problems, and troubleshooting that needed to happen in order to play a game at optimal settings.

Heck, I probably even meet the reccomended requirements for the game (7900GT, 2GB RAM, Athlon X2 3800+), but can that hardware run the game cranked up to the maximum graphical settings at 1680x1050? I highly doubt it.

With consoles, I just get a disk, pop it in, and play. No playing with drivers, graphical settings, resolution attributes, etc to get quality and performance I like. It's a unified platform that just works.

That said, mouse and keyboard are a better control scheme than a gamepad for FPS's, but it's something I was willing to give up just to pop in a disk and play, without needing to worry about upgrades, drivers, and all that PC jazz.

yeah console gaming just makes more sense to the average person. You've got a system, you put it in, you play it.

That is very very rarely the case for PC games. Also the "you can buy a nice system for $800" arguement still means you're paying double the price of a 360 for a system that will questionably keep up for a few years, and unquestionably won't run the next gen of games like Crysis, so what's the point? It's just too costly and too complicated.
you wont put a game in sight in your house?...that is one of the dumbest things i ever heard
Well I do have game cases on a bookshelf. But I find it much easier to keep them in CD wallets by the systems and store the cases. Looks a lot less tacky. And I absolutely don't have figurines/boxes/garbage cluttering up anywhere. Maybe someday if I have a house that can have a gaming room, and If I had a group of friends that regularly came over to play, I'd use some of the posters and things I've accumulated over the years.

fuck, I cant believe you turned this into a PC vs Console argument. Go to the actual Bioshock thread or make a new one. I cant stand reading people talking about it in every Bioshock thread.

Anyone who did PO at a store might want to be there when they open. I was in the EB I POed mine at and the clerk told me they recieved six copies and had preorders for eight. He did say that they were told they would be getting more in to fill the remaining orders but they didn't know when or if they would even get them.
Just did a check of Eb/Gs website(s) and there is no mention of the CE listed...
They suspended pre-ordering (on the CE only) last Friday IIRC, hence the disappearing act.

Thank you for the reply... I am glad I got my order in before the "Disappearing act"!

@ Heavy. When I checked, it said "Unshipped Items: Bioshock LE"... so I huess they didn't ship yet.

Best Buy did one of these stickers for Tomb Raider when it came out. I got a nice $8 off ebay for it. That probably had more to do with the fact it had Lara Croft on it. YMMV with Chow Yun Fat.
I got a call from my GameStop saying they are having a midnight release tonight for Bioshock. Anyone else hear about this?
It's YMMV on if they will have a midnight release. It's up to your local GameStop. So you could call and check if you want to get it then.

the EB near me isn't doing a midnight release :(

This sucks because I could get the game at Circuit City tonight for 39.99....but I already pre-ordered the PC LE at EB (which should be sweet and probably very limited also) Guess I'll have to mosey on up there early tomm.

BTW: I would suggest people who pre-order the LE get up to their respective EB/GS early because I hear (and saw first hand) that the Big Daddy figurines are having a shipping problem.....where their arm gets knocked off. If you get up there early you'll have your "pick of the litter". That is assuming your store received more than 1 copy of it. BOL!

Mine is doing it as well. They are pushing it pretty heavy, as they told me about 3 times about it so far. Normally I'm lucky to even get a call saying my preorder is in. Not sure I'm going to it, but we'll see how I feel later.
Has Gamestop shipped anyone's order yet?

I notice their site is updated to "now shipping, in stores 8/21"
I just checked mine, it says shipped and there's a UPS tracking number.

The number isn't showing anything at UPS.com, so it must have just been released.

Because I'm stupid and/or lazy, I don't have the link here but people with broken Big Daddy's can get them replaced. Head on over to the big Bioshock thread in the Xbox 360 section for details. There are some spoilers floating around in there so be careful.

Looks like a nice game. Does anybody know if Gamestop will accept for trade-in an original Xbox if the case has been opened (it's not modded, I only replaced the dvd drive)?

my LE from GameStop online order has shipped, UPS lists the status as "Billing information Received" and it was shipped 3-day select for the 'value' shipping.

Should be working now. I chose value shipping and it shows up on the UPS website as 3 Day.

Pre-ordered a LE PC version today since every store in town stopped the 360 pre-orders. Snagging 2 actually.
