Mine arrived today (I was quite surprised, tracking said it wouldn't arrive until tomorrow). There's no damage from what I could tell on the figure.

Now I'm trying to decide if I really want to open it or buy a standard copy and hold on to the sealed CE for possible resale at a later date.

If you're going to resell, I would consider doing so now, while demand is hot. I think the CE will hold a value of MSRP or above, but people want it badly NOW. If you're being purely mercenary about getting the most money, you'd probably be better off now selling it and putting the money in an interest-bearing account for three years, than you would be trying to sell it in three years.
Yeah I worked at a shipper briefly during college (horrible job) and they literally THROW things....there is no regard given to 'fragile' or 'this end up' labels whatsoever. If it's something really fragile, best bet is to next day it....the less time they have it in their possession the less chance of it breaking...
....which is why I will never order a disk-based gaming system online for home delivery.

My Big Daddy drill tip arrived broken as well, and there were two bits of plastic floating around the bottom of the vacu-formed shell. The spot where the drill tip used to be whole also made a lot of marks on the plastic as well. I don't know where the second piece came from -- it's definitely not a finger. I left the figure packaged as-is (sealed against that cardboard backer), but you best believe that I crammed that game disc into my 360 as fast as my quivering hands could move.

You do realize that most B&M stores get their deliveries via UPS or similar carrier as well?
You do realize that most B&M stores get their deliveries via UPS or similar carrier as well?
Really? I thought magical fairies delivered them on their winged backs, playing songs with little harps.

My point is: why send it through the fucking delivery wringer TWICE? Besides, consoles shipped to stores are usually packed together in boxes of 3+, (depending on size of said console), in large, hard-to-toss-through-the-air boxes. When they're re-packaged for individual shipments into smaller boxes, they're much easier to throw around before you receive them. And have you ever seen your delivery person set your box down nicely outside your house? They can be some of the most manaical workers I've ever witnessed. I think they get paid by how many Red Bulls they drink in a shift.

this i why items need to be packaged securely and carefully...the way this figure was packaged was just dumb, no room for movement allowed whatsoever so the slightest bump and there goes the tip

Mine got in yesterday. There were some definite scratch marks on the package plastic, but the tip and everything was intact. Almost considering breaking the tip off and sending it in for a replacement, just so I can get the artbook. Won't be able to buy a 360 for a few weeks, anyway... Nah, ain't gonna tempt fate.

Why would it go through twice? It's not like your local Gamestop or Best Buy packages your order and ships it to you. Whether it gets sent via UPS to the local store for sale or to you it's still only going once.

You're free to do what you want, but if you refuse to order consoles online because you're afraid of the big, bad UPS man you're only hurting yourself.

IF you are still seeking this....call your nearby stores ASAP.
Today is the day they release units that were not picked up.
Took less than 10 minutes and I located 2 at one store.
Good Luck! Get to dialing!

tried my gamestops..none of them would release any for sale. Their was about 10 just sitting there waiting to be picked up at three stores. People must be trying to sell them, and once they do go and pick them up.

Same here..... they had 5 wednesday night & 3 yesterday. they wouldn't let go of the last 2 until they've contacted the buyers. =/

Actually I already went to 4 different ones in Riverside.
the riverside plaza one (on magnolia) that's the one that had 5 preorders on the shelf :bomb: :bomb:
the one on Univ. Village - long gone since launch.
in the galleria mall - nothing
& the one right outside of the galleria (by TRU) - there's nothing there as well.

So unless you're were planning to go to any of those, I appreciate your offer :). thanks though.

Goodluck & Congrats to those that can still find this in their local EB/GS!!
Since you work at EB/GS any word on this pay in full get to the top of the list rumor? I could imagine they "could" have a system like that but it would be widly known because the employees would try to get you to pay in full, much like they try to get you to preorder things.
Sorry it took me so long to answer your question. As for the whole, pay in full get moved to the top of the list rule, well there is no list for reservations at Gamestop, unless it's a special thing like a console, but that applies to the order it was reserved in. With games now is they order every reserve copy, but the publishers will also have stores cut off reserves for games due to higher demand than production and distribution.
