This looks to be a coupon all Power up rewards *PRO* members will receive some time in the next few days. It will be valid from 8-30 to 9-2. To be clear you WILL nee to be a PRO member to receive this, this is not the coupon for renewing, merely a coupon going out to ALL pro members, and will be good for the small time period.

It is mentioned in the "Xtra Points" section of the poweruprewards.com website, and a survey can be done regarding your interest in it, although it is not mandatory from what I can tell.

I'm a pro member, but didn't get an email about this. Tried adding 3 preowned games to my cart and it doesn't make one free, even with my Powerup Rewards card active. Is there a promo code that's supposed to be entered in as well?
No, it should activate automatically. Make sure you're not using cag16 or some other promo code that would negate it. It is buggy though. I'm trying to use it and it won't give me the 10% discount on top of the b2g1 free.

Man I want to use the b2g1 promo + bday coupon to combine for the 2 for $9.99 promo.

Any suggestions on what to buy from that list for it to work?
Get two copies of Metro: Last Light with some other cheaper ($27.99 or lower) or more expensive ($37.99 or higher) game and use the B-Day coupon, take the copies of Metro to another GS and trade them towards any new game. The third game is yours to keep or trade in at GS/BBY if you so desire.

There's a fine line, I'll admit, but there's a difference between a glitch in a system and actively going out of your way to rip someone off. Even then there's such thing as excess.

So if I do do what you said, with the bday coupon and PUR discount, and no tax, how much can I expect to pay for your scenario?

:D

What's the difference between what I did and people combining the birthday coupon with the b2g1 sale when the b2g1 explicitly say cannot be combine with any other offer.

Both ways take advantage of a flaw in the gamestop system.

That you're still giving them money, not getting a $50 game for free?

I posted this last night but incase you didn't see it try this if you want

If you need to move credit from Best Buy to Gamestop. You could pick up NBA 2k13, Army of TDC, fifa 13 and Fuse(any 3 combination) for $54or less (before taxes and with 10%) right now with B2G1. You can get six for $108 orless(before taxes) you can move to Gamestop by doing 3 Trade2for$9.99 and get $150
Or you could get three and if you have been looking for a game to pair one of your games boom you get 1 plus another 2 for trade2for $9.99

ALSO You must get one of each system per transactions, you can't do two of the same system online
Also I would do this ASAP because I don't know how long those games will stay on trade 2 list

Good luck getting any of those games from BBY if your local store doesn't have them as everything worthwhile sold out almost the instant that the deal went live.

So if I did it with a $10 game, it's ok then?

You're missing the point. You're flat-out taking something from them. A percentage off is still paying for an item, just less. Doesn't matter if you're talking about a $1 game, you simply cannot compare stealing to still buying but at a discounted price.

yea I got the instore pickup for my 6 games at my two local BB. It's a great deal if you can find them at your stores
Yeah I had the same idea shortly after the sales flipped over but there's no used games around here anymore. Hopefully we'll see a restock like with the used sale last week.

Gamestop should honestly fix the system if they want to prevent the return thing from happening. Their policy is allowing it to happen. I am not going to bother giving it a shot, but I have to admit, I took part in the Target/Tomb Raider deal for $1. Just because I paid something (a minor pittance), doesn't mean the intent wasn't the same. I was gaming their system and their refusal to correct it. I am not going to call someone a thief repeatedly when I know I have done the same.

The only reason I am not going to is that I am pretty sure this will cost a GS employee their job. I don't want to worry about that.

What are the odds of GS employees accepting the bday coupon by me showing it on my phone? I don't have access to a printer till Tuesday but want to use it with the B2G1 if possible.

Gamestop should really make it like how Target does Buy 2 get 1 free where it takes 33% off the full value of the game if you return them.

Im really not attacking anyone. Just wanting to inform you what you are basically doing is theft.

I havent had a problem with using it on the phone. Even if it doesnt scan they just take down the code.

Curious to try and see if the stores near me accept the BDay coupon along with B2G1. I had a hard enough time getting them to use my PUR discount with a coupon. Anybody have the coupon code?

That's absolutely ridiculous if they try to tell you that you can't use your PUR bonus because of a sale.

Agreed. It shouldn't even matter what they say as long as a PUR card is scanned (or account is looked up via phone number if card isn't available), since the 10% discount is automatic.

honestly, take it to pm, or you are going to get this thread locked eventually, because it is turning into a flipping thread.

Low. If the employee is doing his or her job, then you must surrender the coupon at the time of use and there's a high chance that you won't be allowed to stack a birthday coupon with this sale because it is stated in the coupon and the employees probably were told to not do that now.

Yes. The discount is included with all pre-owned game purchases in store. They have a problem with it online because they wanted to remove coupon stacking but it wasn't programmed well enough, but in store, it definitely works.

I wouldn't see why showing it to them won't work. I usually just bring the code itself and they take it fine.

Not all of us live in areas with incompetent employees. The employees here are incompetent because they can't find games and they're very slow, but they do follow their guidelines for the most part.

Good idea. Last of Us with bday + two metros would net out to $9.10 before tax, $10.10 if I buy and toss ATC instead of buying and returning something.

I bought 2 games from 2 different GS each with the b-day coupon. I wonder if they would let me return/rebuy to get a free game? Or would I have to pay more for the 2nd coupon?

You would have to have them rescan the bday coupon when they do the rebuy or do a manual override.

Headed to the gamestop in the mall. Some guy walked in with 2 gift receipts for one for Last of Us and the other for Black ops 2. He wanted to pick up Tales for free with returning the 2 games.

The cashier working said he had to verify and call the other store to see how it was originally paid. He stated that people have been coming in with gift receipts when they clearly got the other game for free with this promotion. So he called the other store and verified the transaction on the gift receipt, The Last of Us was free, and Black Ops 2 was $49.99 when paid.

The scammer got shot down right there and just left!

Just upgraded to the "Pro" membership this past monday. This is what i got last night (prices after 10% discount):

Brain Age: Concentration Training (3DS) ($22.49)

Nintendo Land (Wii U) $17.99

Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion (3DS) ($0.00)

All complete and in great condition. $40.48 ($43.72 after tax). Three games i've been wanting for a long time for basically the retail price of one brand new 3DS game. Not bad!. Since i don't own a Wii U yet and plan on getting that WWHD Deluxe Set i figured getting Nintendo Land now at this price was a good idea since it's not being included in this particular package.

I would have reported that to corporate. The cashier probably did, but it would have been funnier to just tell him that he's getting banned from GameStop right there.

sadly, there is a good chance that person, or people read it/ got the idea from this forum. we are slowing turning into sd sub-forum for video games.
Yeah. A lot of new members joined asking for flips too.

Nice snag, I think your one of the first people to just post that you got a good deal in a while.

This thread is garbage now, nothing but flipping talk and scamming talk. Should just be added to the GS thread promo and this should be closed.

Ni No Kuni was $20 new at BBY and AMZ, I would have waited for that price to come back again.
Well if he used PUR then his average per game was under $20. I'm just jealous of the people who live in areas that don't make the stores hold everything so there's things like Project Diva and Madden available already.

Look at these people watching out for gamestop like they own the store..... Funny thing is, they don't even work for them, but they're watching out for them.
