Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Is this sale for new or used games?
A: New games only. In the past, there have been B2G1 sales on used items associated with Game Days, so keep an eye out for that.

Q: Will all of the games be "gutted" or opened?
A: YMMV. Some stores I have been to basically open everything up and dump it into the bins. Others will only open a few copies and leave the rest behind the counter. If you want a sealed copy, make sure to ask.

Q: Is this in-store or online?
A: Both.

Q: Will the store accept a print-out of the 10% off coupon?
A: YMMV.

Q: Does the coupon work for one item or the whole purchase?
A: It works on all Game Days items bought in a purchase.

Q: Is there going to be a B2G1 on used games and accessories?
A: As previously mentioned, there could possibly be one later, but as of now, nope. There is only a B2G1 on used PS2 games when you buy a new PS2 system.

I'm surprised gamestop has managed to keep a wrap on all this stuff so long, sure there have been a few leaks but we still arent sure if there is a b2g1 (or when it will be) and the one thing I want MGS collection nobody knows about. Guess all the GS employees have a new sense of team loyalty.

We've had several people confirm there wouldn't be one.

The only ones who are unsure are cockeyed optimists who are neglecting the fact that we had a B2G1 during RE5's release weekend.

GameStop isn't generous when it comes to when the B2G1 deals occur.

I was thinking about getting my games online. Does anyone know when it goes live? Also is their any way to get free shipping?
 
Looks like Chrono Trigger is on sale for "only" $30. No reason for me to bother with this sale anymore, but then that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
 
i highley doubt there will be a buy 1 get one or a buy 2 get one free on used games its not even mentioned in the weekly specials so i highley doubt would they add it only to not advertise it

I'm not buying anything this year for the 1st time in 4 or 5 yrs. I'm 90% sure I bought House of the Dead 2 and 3 return new for 17.99 the 1st day of LAST years gamedays sale.
 
Could someone post the free wired guitar coupon by chance please?

Also, other than MGS on the PSP and Kane's Wrath, nothing else looks appealing. Oh well.
 
I wonder.. since the 10% off coupon says it expires 5/2, maybe thats also when the sale ends? BTW, does anyone know if the sale is going to officially start this "evening", or is it going to be during midnight for the DSi launch?

Technically it is 50% of (Select) merchandise, but not all of it in the sale is. Umbrella Chronicles really should be

I had the same problem with Ninja Gaiden Sigma! I bought a used copy of the black label but the disc was the greatest hits version. I'm going to try and switch out the discs at another store this weekend.

There's no coupon for the free guitar with GH Aerosmith - it should be automatic, as it's an in-store display/promo.

I don't think anyone was expecting clearance-type prices on most of this stuff. At least, I hope not. This is GameStop we're talking about, and this pretty much is in line with previous Game Days sales. There are definitely some good deals, though, like VC for $30, $10 for the Aerosmith game and guitar, or the Final Fantasy PSP games for $10 each. The rest of the stuff that you can find elsewhere is still all right if you happen to have a lot of GS credit built up. Plus, some of it will drop further towards the end.

While the selection of quality titles is definitely VERY small, Valkyria Chronicles for $30 is a fucking steal. And Dracula X Chronicles for $10 is a good deal too, considering it's two games in one.

Confirmed that if you Buy the GH:Aerosmith (360/PS3) it will indeed include a free Wired Guitar and this is still good with the GD sale.... very tempting

The Guitar freebie is some in-store promo going on.. you got to figure though between the stores and warehouses they have to have a ton of this stuff piled up...


Just getting into this whole GH thing seeing the metallica one came out and I got the GHIII bundle for $19.99 and now basically another Bundle for $9.99... its great to not bite on this stuff when its first released... :bouncy:

I've been wondering the same thing myself. Not all items are listed on front page at the moment. If it is part of the deal, it might be going for 20, considering Devil May Cry and Resident Evil are the same price tag.

Awesome, my gamestop just said that they won't be gutting all their games because "it's stupid to do that." I'll definitely be there at 9 am tomorrow when they open for the dsi and pick up a copy of valkyria.

I know it's confirmed as in if I buy GH:A today I get the guitar, but how do you KNOW it's confirmed for THIS sale.
