Q: Is this sale for new or used games?
A: New games only. In the past, there have been B2G1 sales on used items associated with Game Days, so keep an eye out for that.

Q: Will all of the games be "gutted" or opened?
A: YMMV. Some stores I have been to basically open everything up and dump it into the bins. Others will only open a few copies and leave the rest behind the counter. If you want a sealed copy, make sure to ask.

Q: Is this in-store or online?
A: Both.

Q: Will the store accept a print-out of the 10% off coupon?
A: YMMV.

Q: Does the coupon work for one item or the whole purchase?
A: It works on all Game Days items bought in a purchase.

Q: Is there going to be a B2G1 on used games and accessories?
A: As previously mentioned, there could possibly be one later, but as of now, nope. There is only a B2G1 on used PS2 games when you buy a new PS2 system.

I might pick up GH, although I'm really wanting RBII with a drum set. DMC Anniversary collection will be a must too.

IF you buy a BRAND NEW $99 PS2 you can do the B2G1 on used PS2 games ONLY for the next week. Otherwise, there's NO B2G1.
 
what games are valid in that 50 percent thing. is it gonna be updated online. also, is b2g1 free only with a purchase of a ps2 cause i want ps2 games but dont want to buy one.
 
i just went to a local gamestop in seekonk, MA and they were already starting to put games out.

they gutted all the games.

so I'm assuming if your GS is doing a midnight launch for the DSi, the game day stuff should be out by then.

(i mean the employees are gonna do something between the time they close and midnight...)

I never played any of the Diablo games before, is the Battle Chest worth it or should I just look to pick up Diablo II?

Guy told me that they wouldn't be able to start the sale till midnight. Apparently he even wasn't allowed to tell me the pricing until midnight. On the bright side, it looked like they hadn't really touched many of the games, so maybe, just MAYBE, I can get a non-gutted copy of HotD: 2&3

Just got done playing the Valkyria Chronicles demo and it is the one thing that I plan on picking up if any are left.
 
I called both my Gamestops and asked when does the Game Days sale begin? . . . He said 10pm tonight they open for it.

Call the local G-Spot and the dude said the free guitar is only on certain bundles for the sale. I guess this means no free guitar with GH: Aerosmith 360 game only. Unless I am missing something here or the employee is not up to par.
 
I'm going to have to live with online and pay for shipping, which almost nullifies the savings, because my local GS apparently has already gutted ALL games involved in the sale, and will leave nothing sealed in the back.

Just called the store that's doing a midnight opening, and the guy claimed they're starting the sale tomorrow, not tonight.

Although, 12:01am is technically tomorrow... :)

It wasn't working the other day, but I do believe the SAVER code for free value shipping is live again. Your order has to be over $25.
 
A friend of mine is the assistant manager at a gamestop, and he said that the Aerosmith for 360 will come with a wired 360 controller for free. He also said that any stores doing a midnight sale will be able to use the Game Days sales with the use of a coupon provided by corporate. Actually he thinks that it will be up and running when stores reopen at 10 for the DSi Launch. That is if he remembers correctly

Not exactly correct. A Store Manager just allowed me to read the e-mail
IF you buy a new PS2, you may also buy 2 used PS2 games and get an additional game free (free game is the lowest priced of the three). ONLY AT THE TIME OF THE PS2 PURCHASE, ONLY 3 GAMES, AND NOT FOR AN ENTIRE WEEK.

P.S. This store is opening an hour early tomorrow. (9 a.m.) Not sure about other stores and this is not a midnight launch DSI location.

Staff is holding a few nongutted games for me to pick up tomorrow.

holy shit, valkyria chronicles is one hell of a steal at that price. Almost such a good price i would buy it again. EVERYONE BUY THE GAME PEOPLE!
 
Sorry if I'm asking a repeat question but I haven't been keeping close tabs on this thread. I think I've seen mention of some stores being open at midnight for this deal? Is this true? How do I know if my store will be open at midnight? I'm probably going to pick up Valkyria Chronicles.

I think he was saying this deal is good for a week, not meaning that you can buy a PS2 and come in later in the week to do the B2G1.

ugh there just doesn't seem like anything i would want. Already have VC. Maybe i'll go in for persona 3 at 20, but that doesn't seem like that great of a deal to begin with.
 
Just got Valkyria Chronicles 29.99 Ungutted, just had a gameday sale sticker on the side, still in shrink wrap. There was no one at my store at 10PM, and the systems didn't update yet so the lady had to ring up the sale manually.

Well, I tried to make it clear, you may buy 2 get one free at the time you buy the new PS2 NOT later in the week.

True, I think it can be had for only $5 more on Amazon, but you're still getting LOTS of gameplay. I'm 60 hours in and I'm not even sure if I'm close to finishing it
 
Went to gamestop at 10 pm and picked up a sealed copy of VC for 26.99 (used 10% off coupon). I took an alternate route to returning/rebuying and had an employee hold the game on friday for 48 hours. Worked out to my advantage, because they gutted ALL the games, but kept mine sealed because I had it held for me. When I checked friday the store only got in 2 copies in stock for the sale, if most stores are like that I can't imagine VC staying in stock for very long..
 
What is this free guitar thing, is it YMMV?
Checked all the stores around me, all said no go.

Do they just need to scan the game+guitar? no code/promotion they need to apply right?
 
Store by me doesn't open at midnight, but they do open a bit earlier (9am) tomorrow. Called in and spoke to a guy who's opening and he said he'd hold the only copy of VC they had for the first hour, took down my name. Hooray.
