WELCOME TO THE NEW GAMESTOP TRADE-IN THREAD.

The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

I renewed for like five years when they had that bug where you would get two sets of coupons for signing up.  So I was trading Vitas and getting B2G1s and whatever else was going on at the time and using points to buy the renewal coupons.

Was that the one where 1 coupon was on your receipt and a separate coupon was given to you online?

I'm renewed into 2021 on 2 of my accounts. Never wanted to go that far into the future but for 2 b2g1's I had to tack on a few years.

I'll try the renewal and see if I get a coupon, and report back, since I still dont have a coupon yet.

QUESTION: does anyone know if it will stack, for instance, buy 4 used games get 2 free in the same transaction?

The b2g1 for top pro came a few days ago , renewing now will only get the the one coupon you would normally get.

I did some trades today and when I asked if they had any amazon gift cards in the store I was told no, and that you can no longer use trade credit to get gift cards, because of money laundering concerns corporate does not allow this anymore... Is this true or did the workers have it mixed up? Money on a GS trade credit card can be used to purchase POS cards still right? Been a while since I traded anything in.

 
I traded in some games yesterday and bought some steam cards with the credit.
Traded in a few more today and bought an Amazon card with the credit.

I used my trade-in credit towards $125 in Amazon GC's, $15 on Netflix GC. No issues.
 
I used $50 in Gamestop gift cards to buy $20 in PSN credit, a $25 Starbucks gift card, and I got $5 cash back, so I can also report that it still works.

This is rolling out across the country. They haven't put a block in the POS system yet, but they are working on one.

On the coupon it says it expires 12/31. In active offers, it says 1/15. I used all of mine up by 12/31 cause I just assumed wording on the coupon took precedence. Do you know for a fact they still work regardless of the wording on the coupon?

 
A few people here already confirmed they were able to use it after 12/31 or still have it. In the past, this has also happened before and the date under Active Offers was the correct one. I also hedged my bets like you and somewhat regret my purchases now.

Thanks, this is good info for the future. I didn't lose too much cause I used all of mine up on flips that I would have done anyways. $65 of it went to $80 preowned 360 and Kinect.

Browse the gift card rack before you trade in anything and pickup the Amazon Kindle cards so you don't have to deal with dickhead employees.

Avoid asking any questions whenever possible.

The Gamestop that I went to yesterday didn't even have a gift card rack anymore. I asked for some Shell gas cards but they allegedly didn't have any Lol I settled for PSN credit and Starbucks.

(Preface: I'm not the complainy type). A few years back I filed a BBB complaint against gamestop back when the coupons disappeared from the PUR site (now defunct) and the old app on the last day that they were valid. After about 2 rounds with them (they first tried to deny there was an issue), they provided me with a bunch of replacement coupons and a gift card. The point being that I think they've gotten slightly better with making sure the coupons work correctly since then.

EDIT: Also wanted to mention that I did not get a B2G1 coupon but did receive a "20% off 1 Pre-owned game" coupon that expires on 4/30/16.

Probably a birthday coupon from the looks of it.
 
So I tried to place an order on ganestop.com and I got an unidentified cart error when I completed check out, so naturally I tried again, same thing. So I tried a different browsers, same thing. Now I just tried to place the order again and it's only pulling like $3 from my trade card, so each time it failed it still charged the card, I'm guessing it will just go back to the card, but does anyone know how long it could take?
 
for those who bought eBay GCs and used them in the last few weeks, check ebay for ebay bucks.  If you timed it right and did it when there were 3x - 5x eBay bucks, you'll probably have a ton of ebay bucks to spend - they expire first week of February so don't slack.

 I had nearly $200 in eBay bucks and bought digital PSN credit with it, click gift cards on the top of ebay and you'll find PSN on the left side under gaming.  The PSN codes say it'll take 5 days for them to ship out, but it came within an hour.  I had to click like 10 times to get the eBay bucks to apply on the checkout page, it kept erroring out for a while.

You could have also bought $30 Gamestop GCs for $25 and used those to get PSN credit.

Lucky. I only have $20ish cause I didn't qualify for the 3x-5x eBay bucks. I checked both times it was active.

 
Deader or no658, do you see anything on the horizon for last gen console sales?  I picked up a 360 for $60 for a co-worker before the holidays, and now another is looking for one.

I see there is the 4gb "S" for $100 with 5 free games...that actually might work. Just thought I'd check to see what you know.  Thanks!
