WELCOME TO THE NEW GAMESTOP TRADE-IN THREAD.

The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

is getting people to renew PUR one of the new sales goals now? they keep on bugging me to use my points to renew when i still have 2 months left

They've always asked me in the past when I hit the two months remaining mark.

Don't do it though. Wait until it's almost done to renew to maximize the duration because a renewal isn't added on to the current expiration date. I made this mistake the first time.

Thats not true. It adds to whatever you have left.

The last time I renewed early (and the last time I will ever do it) I was shorted two months because I had two months remaining.

As a matter of fact earlier this week I was in a store, and the store manager rang me out. She asked me if I'd like to renew with two months remaining currently. I specifically asked her "If I renew today, would the renewal take effect today and my new expiration date would be one year from today?" Her response was "Yes your new expiration date would be one year from today."

I said "Hard pass. But thanks for the alert."

This is false information. Anyone who has renewed their account or multiple accounts to get the b2g1 free coupon knows it extends it for a full 12 months. I have an account that is good till like March 2019.😂

Explain how my account that I renewed last Thursday expires on 7/24/17 then.

Or how my other one doesn't expire until June 2018?

I don't work for GME, so I cannot explain that to you no offense. I just frequent the establishment, and that is what the manager told me on Tuesday when she asked me to renew. I'm just sharing my experience with the community here. If what I shared is wrong, then it's wrong. Just realize that I didn't make it up. I'm not one of those guys that hates on GME religiously, so I have no agenda against the company.

Perhaps a fellow CAG that is employed by GME could shed some light on this issue?

So, I'm obviously missing it, but how do I find the "rewards preferences" tab in PUR?   The email says "you'll see" it, but I guess I'm slow today.

Sorry about the misinformation guys. I didn't know Deader is employed by GME, so thank you for correcting me on that.

I will go back to that store at some point this week to clarify it with the manager then so that she knows NOT to tell other customers this.

I returned doom and uc4 last night at the same time at one store(both purchased from different stores). Girl knew what I was doing but hates her job so she didn't give a ****
 
i just got a coupon for $50 off the uncharted ps4 bundle, too bad that wasnt available when they were doing the $250 towards a new ps4 trade deal. funny that it says its good from 5/30 to 6/12 but they wait til today to email it.

Just got the same. Looks like they're trying to move as many as possible before e3. I would venture a guess that it'll get a price cut at e3.

My favorite PUR renewal comment was when the GS employee said "your power up expires in 26 days, oh wait that's 26 months, nevermind"

Well if you did do the trade in promotion you shouldn't have any problems for you to re-ring or exchange for the uncharted console and apply the $50 coupon. Which is what I'm doing.

I'll just keep it on hand until e3 rolls along. Really tempted to open and keeping the ps4 and trading my old ps4 for the next trade in promotion

Meh. Just embrace it. I'm sitting on about 600k atm (790k lifetime). That life-sized batman won't buy itself.

 
I was playing story mode last night and I wasn't satisfied with it compared to the other TellTale games. Maybe it's because it was because the audience was for kids? I dunno

Just saw the coupon in my inbox as well. I picked up the Uncharted bundle from BestBuy two weeks ago, so I'm now debating on the best course of action. Or is it worth trying to get back $50....if only it was not a coupon....

Edit: Of course, if this kind of signals an upcoming price drop, I can just wait to get it adjusted afterwards.

waited over 30 mins on phone with gs about my online order. they shipped a gutted copy of LiS LE as new. this is pure bs.

 
So weekly add says get 20 extra on 3DS trade in, it's usually listed as 50 in app so black original 3DS ISS going for 70!? Trading mine in for 60 then after refurb fee for missing charger
 
Correct me if I am wrong but all this talk about PUR points reminded me, doesn't GS have a July 4th promo usually where you get $5 coupons for 1776 points?

i assume you used a different form of id to open the 2nd account, i believe if you use the id from your first account on the 2nd account the system automatically combines them? or maybe im thinking of best buy. if nothing else, you could ask and play it off as a mistake.

 
Yeah if you use $ off coupons that aren't attached to your account they ban the account using them. It usually happens after 3 or 4th coupon in a small time frame. No idea why but that's Gamestop for you.
 
Okay so has anyone been able to stack the $ off coupons with the new fine print? It says limit 1 coupon per customer. Not sure if it means that you can only use 1 coupon or you can only use 1 of the same denomination still. It also no longer says up to 3 coupons a day

Haven't tried mine yet, going to be disappointing if they don't stack.

 
So.. in 1 store, I was able to buy Ebay giftcards with my trade credit. Then I went over to another store, and I was denied by the clerk. What gives? Are the rules of buying giftcard with a gift card vary from store to store or somethin?
