I remember a few weeks after :ps3: The Last of Us came out I went to a local store and found a used copy of it on the shelf. I noticed It had an autograph on it and asked the then SM who's signature it was. He said the other night they had developers from Naughty Dog stop by to sign copies of the game and someone had theirs signed and then traded it in for some reason. As I was paying for it the SM tried to pull the old switcheroo on me and proceeded to try and hide the case in a drawer.

Not cool on the TX tax on credit. Primary reason I build credit there to avoid paying taxes. Let's see what's else they come up to alienate even more customers.

Sell them as pre-owned instead of new.
Valid argument. Only thing is that if they do, at the level of employees checking out the games, they would go under quickly.

The rebuttal with that is to not allow checkouts of new games, which would suck to those who has no benefit other than the 10% discount or trade 15%.

If you need to return an item you bought in-store but misplaced the receipt, you can just go back to the same store you purchased and they can pull it up, right? Used trade credit for new item.

It's odd that this new is just coming out when we've been using circle of life for a few months now. Ironically circle of life is less of the focus now.

And they do take into account when new releases come out. Usually the pre owned goal is around 50% but when a big title comes out the goal will drop to like 15%-20%.

Yup. I've handed them a gift card and tell them to put $10. It automatically gets zero'd out. I did the $60 netflix and get a $10 GS gc.
maybe it was the POS, or cashier error, but I tried this and the GS card didn't zero out. Instead we did two $30 Netflix cards and 2 $5 GS cards and it took $5 off each Netflix card.

The emphasis on the survey has dropped as well, as far as i see it. No one invites me to survey anymore as that used to be the biggest deal next to col.

May be how the district leader interprets and relays to the team. I did hear some of how the regional manager spoke to all of the district leaders on the conference call, that was ugly

I guess its odd that they are saying we are encouraged to lie to customers when at least in my region that is not true at all. I guess I can see how employees think they need to lie but I would hope the SM of that store would not encourage that.

I fail to see how this makes GameStop different than the majority of corporations. Self interest is how corporations make money and turn profits. The main thing that CAGs need to do is to be informed and refuse to buy preowned items if they don't want them. I often check the app to make sure that an item is in stock before I go to one of their stores. That way, they can't BS me when I ask if they have it. One of the employees commented to another associate when I was in the store the other day that I know their store's inventory better than they do. He's probably right. But it's like anything else. If you want a new copy instead of a preowned copy, just refuse and leave the store. GameStop isn't the only place to buy games.

Weird, did a trade in today and the associate just started talking to me about that article, saying "we don't do it here, but they say it's a big deal and there's an investigation." Didn't even ask about it, but it seemed very strange that's the message he wanted to project

Back in Michigan, there was a rather attractive female employee who would use her looks and overly flirty personality to try and get additional pre-orders and etc from customers. She'd even throw a pouty little fit if you didn't pre-order, and almost a tantrum if you were going to cancel one. It got so bad, I had to hold my ex back from decking her.

She just literally walked out and quit working one day, the manager put a do not re-hire on her record because of this. This is by far the worst type of worker, even worse than lying to the customer if you ask me though..

I can see where employees are being dishonest to try and boost their sales, but this is ludicrous. I found the article interesting, so I thought I'd share it here.

Honestly the employees that act like that is probably the reason those stores don't do well. My store always just offers but don't demand and do our best to assist the customer in anyway we can. Shocking how when you do that your store actually runs well.

The store always did quite well, even was put on Holiday hours year round for a while. The girl was a hire by an acting manager while the store manager was away due to chemo.

Though I do remember one year they were given a trophy that looked like a golden/bronze horses ass....

Found a The Last Guardian steelbook at GS today, rang up for the sale used price, idk how much these go for online though. There seem to be a few of those or something so keep a look out guys. Dude didn't really want to give it to me or something and wanted me to take the original case, even insisted I buy the warranty.
Scored one of those that last week of December. Impulse buy as I needed a third game for b2g1. Boomeranged the disc and sold the case for $30 on eBay.

i'll give up a Lincoln if she's hot, flirty, looks slutty and give's a wink. O:)  a lap dance will cost you 2 jacksons and beer purchase.

Thanks for single-handedly confirming every "I'm a female Gamestop associate" horror story.
I'm pretty sure they chose to work there for the attention they get from nerdy gamers' else they'll get a job at the Target next door or Wally World, Best Buy, etc.

The whole lying to customer thing might has happened to me. The mean manager at a store hates that I return games. He lied to me about the 7 day return policy. He said it starts the day you buy the game and not the next day. He just didn't want me to return it but he returned it anyway. He called it an "exception".

I dont think I have ever seen a hot female gamestop employee. If they were knowledgeable then who cares? Unfortunately I have run into ugly fat female workers who try to flirt and thats just awkward for everyone.

this explains why the guy gave me the third degree about why i was buying resident evil the day after release but didnt preorder it.

referring to the col scores

My sister's a lesbian who likes Pokemon, so I googled "Pokemon lesbians" to see if this was a thing. Seems like it'd be a club or something.

It's not. Don't google Pokemon lesbians.
Well now I feel obligated to do so

Edit: he's right, don't do it lol

When I worked at GS when I was younger two of my coworkers were both very cute. It was hilarious watching all the nerdy awkward guys trying to flirt with them. I have seen a few employees here that are really attractive as well, most of them are really cool, though I have ran into a few that were really stuck up or unfriendly.

Seems like most of the women I see working in this area are older (Like in their late 20s or 30s)

I had a hottie for an asm, bitch let a guy who flirted with her steal an xbox one. Then she turned to the cooch, bitch then let her gf steal a bunch of games.

Needless to say she was a bitch. Sexy bitch, but bitch

I asked them the other day how much a copy of Bayonetta :ps3: pre-owned was, expecting maybe $7.99 at MOST, and the guy told me it was $14.99. What a joke. Of course prior to telling me how much it was he had pretty much gotten the game out of the CD drawer, was preparing the generic case, and ready to ring me up... even though I simply asked how much the game was.
TrU has it for $9.99 btw

Yesterday I picked up a new :xb1: Overwatch Collector's Edition that was converted to used. $71.99 after PUR. Not normally big on collectors editions, but I liked the Soldier 76 statue and thought it was a good deal.
