I was able to return more than 4 items in a day and didn't get banned. I'll just spread them to different stores.
That would be a stupid reason to ban you lol I'm pretty sure that they track your returns and look for a pattern of abuse before they decide that they no longer want your business

FAQ says.... A: As of now, it is believed that the return limit is the same as the trade-in limit: No more than 4 returns within a rolling 30 days.
There has been months where I've easily done 20 plus returns. I used gamestop as a free rental service for a while when I had more time to play games. So unless this is fairly new I don't think it's a thing.

If you returned too many items, would it be a trade ban? Wouldn't it be a completely different kind of ban?

I did a return of five games I bought on saturday on thursday for their may the fourth promo. I repurchased them along with 3 additional games to get three free. I don't see the big deal.

Dont post on reddit next time. Those guys get really upset. That being said, if you return 8 games that you used trade bumps to get, that would obviously bring unwan4ed attention to you.

Ok. Thanks for the advice. It was actually 6 games that I got with the trade bumps that I'm returning. The other two were just preowned games that I got. I think I'll just keep 2 of them that I don't have so I'll just be returning 4 games that I got with the trade bump. I was planning to get these two games later on at a lower price but it's better than bringing all this unwanted attention. I'm having some boomerangs coming on 5/9 and I need to be able to trade.

I read that it was funny but this guy is full of shit if I ever heard it.

"Loss Prevention. The person who swings the ban-hammer on customers who fraudulently trade/return/purchase from companies.

If you want advice (50/50 why you came here) it would be to be thankful that you had a brief moment of clarity and asked if you could do what you intended to do. The more likely reason you're here is to stir up shit because this is one of those permanently sensitive subjects that employees get really pissed off about.
You trade in games towards another game to get a promotional bonus. That bonus is awarded because of agreements we made with the distributor of that game, or because we are trying to boost that specific game's sales for any number of reasons. We pay you more money as an incentive to buy that game. When you return it, you are backing out of the deal and that's fine, but you will lose the extra credit you got for doing the trade in the first place. If you get defensive and start quoting receipts policies and that sort of stuff (which you already have) then you expose yourself as a scammer who is just trying to abuse the system to steal from the company. Stealing is a crime no matter how you try to bend the rules to rationalize it, and so LP is the law enforcement who will build a case against you. They will allow you to dig yourself a deep shit-filled hole and then they will prosecute you.
Better to just enjoy the game you bought and sell it when you're done. Or you can do the returns to those stores and join the list of idiots who think they are the first person who discovered a magic loophole for creating money out of nothing. There's a good chance you do the return and get all the credit back, bonus and everything, then the store reports you once you leave and your card gets deactivated, forcing you to have a nice conversation with LP to explain yourself.
Have fun with that"

oh you guys are talking about returning games you got with a trade boost. fucking sell it on offerup or trade it in with another trade boost. So you lose a couple bucks, big whoop.

So $200 for original PS4 confirmed? Also tried the new B2G1 renewal coupon with 3 electronics. While the coupon did work, it also negated the 25% promo off electronics they're running right now. When the coupon is applied, the items jump back to full price but the least expensive is free. I'd rather buy one at 25% off rather than 3 at 33% off, assuming they're all the same price.

GS really covered their bases with this one. If you want to maximize your coupon, buy a total of three PSVR, PS4 Pro. These are the most expensive things you can buy outside of electronics. After more research, it turns out GS uses a service called "Checkmend" that checks all phones when they're traded in. It can actually check if the phone is still owed for an outstanding balance. Therefore, you shouldn't have to worry if the phones will be blacklisted in the future.

Yeah, I experienced the same thing yesterday when I tried to use my B2G1 renewal coupon on 2 iPads and a PS4 Pro.

Not sure if there is a trade ban in the system but if stores catch on to what you're doing the dm will approve stores to reject your returns.

I haven't seen it often and usually it's when people abuse the pre owned return policy (usually with systems).

My personal advice is just be smart about what you're doing.

I really triggered people with my post. :D/
Employees will start to label you as a certain type of customer. If you are doing an abundant amount of trade ins regularly, long term team members will of course remember this especially when it's followed up with numerous returns which hurt the stores COL stats. They will label you as that type of customer and if you have a long term tradein/flip game plan it will cut them short and possibly permanently. As other people have stated if you're in this for the long term take a few losses instead of returning everything.

Has anyone run into CAG16 not working on certain games? Ordered a dozen things from the retro flash sale and games like Donkey Kong Country 2 and Mario All Stars didn't get the discount.

Please don't post stuff like that on the GameStop Reddit anymore. Those are actual employees and you're alerting them to our trade tactics. Not to mention corporate GameStop actually monitors that Reddit page

If you have a question that is even a little shady, ask in this thread instead. And if you don't mind, please delete that Reddit thread you made. You used the same name on there as you do on here, so someone on there doing a simple google search of your name could bring them to this thread

Please be smart in the future, and don't ruin a great thing for everyone

Or let Gamestop have the damn $5 you put down. After all $5 loss vs the $50% it got you isn't a big deal. Plus no LP is going to get involved when the company is making, what they think, a free $5 from you. Penny wise and pound foolish in this game will get you caught.

That's what I did with the Zelda pre-order gave em $5 and got the 60% trade in bonus for a bunch of bad games I found at a garage sale.

Let em keep the $5 in goodwill

Whoa whoa whoa MRW2276, you gotta remember that this is the community that would try to return the $1 Target preorder card for chris' sake.

You expect them to give up an entire fiver??!!

Didn't see any Amazon cards at the store that I just went to, and the one person working today was the main store manager, so I didn't bother to ask. I'll try another location or just sit on the credit until they show up on the racks at that store.

Amazon cards are back

Over 3,000 stores have them and probably more since I had quite a few connection errors during the query but this is what I got currently:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1P5DeKpaHyRBSO3wJ2UUq4rPZcBTxxuJlJpIsJjzn_bI/edit#gid=329446119
Thank you both for this information. The manager did not even flinch when I asked to use my credit to get $350 in Amazon credit. Perfect timing because Amazon just lowered their minimum order for free shipping from $35 to $25 like they had back in the day.

The store that didn't have the amazon cards on the rack yesterday had them today. The manager didn't say anything when I pulled out my trade card to pay for it.

So what's worse: returning a game or cancelling a pre-order?
Depends if the store is hurting more for preowned sales or preorders. But personally I've only ever returned brand new games (at a bunch of different stores) and found that the employees never ever give a fuck. Probably because it actually helps their preowned percentage and they never have a problem hitting their total sales goal anyway

So the b2g1 free preowned now works on systems too? I am asking as I have been out of the loop for a long time but if I can get the ad values for two standard xbox ones and a original ps4 I might upgrade them to 1tb one s systems and a ps4 pro.

Hey Beard of Black,

Are those McRee Pops on your sheet the exclusive versions or the regular ones? Or do they share the same sku?

I have an Xbox One controller with a bumper that doesn't spring back.  Will Gamestop take that?  If so, what is the refurbish fee they'll charge?

It's $7 for a Dualshock 4, so I would guess $7 for the Xbone controller too. Of course you might get lucky and they might not notice and just give you full price for it

There is a limit on discounts per order. So 5 games with PUR and cag16 is already 10 discount on the order, which I think is the limit

My guess is you wanted to order 2 copies of 6 games. 4 of the games got the double discounts which leaves only PUR for the other 2 games since it will always opt for PUR if you go over the limit

Did anyone make a purchase on Thursday and still not get points for it? I don't know if it is still a issue from when the servers went down or they are not giving you the points the day after anymore.

I made a purchase online Thursday morning, haven't gotten the points yet but for some reason they overnighted the two copies of Trails of Cold Steel I bought so it came in yesterday lol.

Amazon GCs still working this morning. I still have this feeling that the POS will eventually get updated to block it.

How much do you guys like to keep in credit to fund flips? I'm thinking somewhere between 400-500 is good.

Is there a funko pop thread lol I wanna get into these now after searching all day for McCree and Dva. Missed out on both, but I'll keep scoping out a store that has preorders being held. Sucks there's no limit on how long they hold them but whatever. I just wish I knew of a way to keep up with this stuff.

I know this is the GameStop thread, but Target is currently dumping lots of clearance Funkos for $4.48 each. I've seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Steven Universe, Scooby-Doo, and Suicide Squad characters among others.

Did that gamestop credit card leak also leak passwords? Someone just redeemed all my points. I've changed my password and called GS, they marked it as fraud but they say the investigation will take 3-5 days

Same here. I'm planning on hitting up Hot Topic to see if I can score their exclusive Mei variant. I bought my first POPs yesterday. Curse you, Overwatch!

I got some dumb employee who proactively decided to go ask a manager if they could ring it up instead of just trying it. Of course, the manager said it "wouldn't work" so she didn't even try to ring it up. Her specific question was not even to find out if it was allowed but just to find out if it would work. I don't know why an employee would decide to go out of their way to ask a manager if something will work instead of just trying the system.

Did you walk up and say "hey, I'd like to buy these with trade credit"? Typically they have no clue what I'm paying with. They just tell me the total and I swipe

They don't need your password. They just need figure what your account token is (which is stored in clear text) and they have full access to your account.

Well that's great, because I was thinking it could have been an employee who copied down my number and redeemed it on one of those tablets.

So I couldn't stop them before they got all the points, but the coupons are still sitting in my active offers, so I don't think they've been used.

I would use those up soon. Those codes are probably up for sale on eBay or in the CAG trade section. I think I remember some guy on this site peddling stolen PUR coupons in here before. At least they were not smart enough to to put you in a negative PUR balance.
