Pretty sure they lied to you. The gamestop I was at today said stores got picked randomly and they weren't one of them. Didn't mention anything about needing to purchase a pur membership.
Those were my honest thoughts as well, since it would say something to that effect on the PUR DAY fine print.

Since April or so I find Best Buy trade in values without a promo generally suck. Several games take weeks to be listed. Quantum Break took forever to be listed at BB and then was crap TIV. I don't think BB even bothered to add Dead Rising 4.
i think before they added resident evil they hadnt added anything since early december

Well. I just bought this AS after I sold OR to Gamestop for $30 cash. I'm thinking about getting into Pokemon again. I didn't even play OR. XD

according to my GS dude, the switch preorder thing works like those taco bell time based contest. they have pre-selected 1000 time slot randomly for today and the first person that use their PUR after the time slot wins that time slot. it makes sense to me and I suppose if you are close to a GS employee they could enter your PUR over and over until you win.

Just got back from my home store.  Turns out they were automatically sending not available e-mails when you asked for a hold today.  Ended up getting Soulsilver, Heartgold, and Paper Mario Splash with my b2g1 coupon.  Those are going back during the 50% bump next week.

Was also able to get a used copy of RE7 in place of the pre-order I never picked up.  The associate was really cool about it.

As I got home, I realized that the pro-day bonus only applied to one of the games for some reason.  Is that something that can be fixed in store, or is it too much of a headache to worry about?  If it's going to result in the associate getting a negative mark, I'd rather not deal with it.

Your entitled to advertised prices. It's on you if you like paying the full amount

So, if anyone is into Pop! Figures I found a Doom Space Marine that was listed on the app for $8.98, had a sticker on it that said $5, rang up $3, came out to $1.50 with the b1g1(50%off) deal.

No clue how many Pop! Figures are this cheap but it might be worth going down the rabbit hole for collectors.

Also, I do have pictures of the box and reciept in case people actually care about this deal and do not believe me.

So collectibles are buy 1, get 1 50% off? Or is it just clearance collectibles?

The store I was at had 3 people switching back and forth on transactions based on what the customers were buying to help each other out with their circle of life. It made checking out a much slower process and they kept making mistakes because they were more worried about their scores than ringing things up.

This whole thing is ridiculous. Took forever just to buy a few $1-$3 b1g1 collectibles for my daughter.

Screw up. Buying the games with my b2g1 coupon from renewing last month and just going to trade them in at the next closest store when the 50% bump kicks in. I'm not driving an hour for this.

On another note, what's the best way to "cancel" pre-orders without the associate taking a hit? I usually just roll the money onto another pre-order.
There is no way to do it now. Just have to do it to someone you dislike or are indifferent to.

In the old days you could do it during the holidays b/c reserves weren't fully tracked. But the "new" Circle of Life ranking system changed that.

There's a deal going on for Pop! Figures which is b1g1(50%off). Not sure if that was a pro day deal or if it happens everyday until a specific date.
TShirts were B1G1F & POP's were B1G1 1/2 off if they scanned the code.

Clearance Collectibles were B1G1F via a PUR coupon.

If you really care about your gamestop friends, then roll them (cancel a 60 and preorder another game for 5 so you get most of it back) until the holidays when they hire seasonal and preorders are not a priority for stores. I do this and no Jr detective has caught on yet. Cagspeed
What if you wait and get a refund on a preorder days after an item has been released? Does the associate still get dinged for that?

During the 50 percent bonus would something $20 be worth $30 in trade or does GameStop use some of its voodoo math to somehow reduce that number?
The only time I've seen it not work out that way is when the amount has an odd number of cents in it, but otherwise, it should work out to exactly 50% added to the trade in value.

Not necessarily. The voodoo that GameStop uses during 50% bonus is that they might nuke some TIV. So it might be $20 today, but it might drop to $14 resulting in $21 during the boost. This is obviously worst case scenario, but not unheard of.

If you are trading something in and you don't have a PUR membership then yes a $20 base is worth $30 after a 50% bonus.

If you have a PUR membership it would be $32

As anyone loaded up on the gift card deal at gamestop? Free $5 gamestop gift card when you purchase select gift cards

I did 2 Netflix cards. If you do multiple cards you have to do 5$ card for each, I tried to just put 10 on one card to have less gift cards to worry about but the register wouldn't do it that way.

LOL I read this on the GS reddit page about the Pro Day games that were on sale.

"almost every single "pro day deal" is about to be a regular sale price effective Monday when the marketing kit goes live. I genuinely hope we get a large number of people wanting to return their pro memberships next week just because of how shitty it feels to get duped into paying $15 to get 2K for $30 when it's literally about to just be $30"

I was told long ago that GS legal and LP team get the information of the posters and take action for slander because they are not protecting the family.

But then again that was then and shady now is shady.
