WELCOME TO THE NEW GAMESTOP TRADE-IN THREAD.

The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

Of course my GS gets 1 neon Joy Con bundle in right when it get laid off and need to save my $60 store credit for Persona 5. Oh well hopefully in a few months they will be more common

In my area there are multiple stores who are friendly and don't give a shit about each platform trade ins or the amount of trade ins because trade ins help their COL quotas. That's what a manger explained to me and then followed it up by saying bring all the games you want which I have with no questions asked. However there are stores with employees who don't get how the system works and always treat you like your cheating the system and or pulling a fast one on them when they are just morons. To avoid the hassle I just make a note of the idiocy and don't go into that store. There's no reason you should have to make excuses because nothing wrong is being done. You can simply ignore their questions , and talk about video games or even the weather. There is no reason to feed into their insinuations and draw unnecessary attention as it's none of their business.

Damn stealth drop overnight killed my IW Legacy Edition trade. With the 20% bonus and 5$ business card it would've got me $37+ temporarily towards MLB but transferred to Persona.

Here's to hoping weekend bumps back to original.

Hate that trade values can't be guaranteed through a week. Got lazy, woulda coulda shoulda traded it last night :whistle2:(

Anyways picked up Blops, Max Payne, Titanfall, Fable 3. Next time Enslaved, The Bureau, Condemned, Dead Rising, Bad Company, Zone of, MGS Rising, and this stupid Sonic Tennis game that just happens to include Uno and PacMan CE for 360.
 
Not sure if the trade values have changed since Blackbeard last updated the sheets but WWE 2K17 for X1/PS4 is trading in for $15 base at GS, not the $20 that the spreadsheet shows.

I had an employee scold me once for trading in a Bluetooth headset for PS3 in the clear plastic bag it originally came in. GameStop employees can be ridiculous sometimes.

fuck i just bought 3 bad company 2 just to find out it changed.

Now for the transaction.

I glance to my right, look up, amd behold a halo 5 ce priced at 79.97. Im like oh shizz, at this price i can use a 50 off coupon,a drive club trade in, and be easy peasy on it.

The employees were excited, made me more excited,just to ring it and it says 99.97.

Employee: oops, its mispriced. Still want it?
Me: no. Cant you call someone to reduce the price (knowing he could)
Employee: no, the manager is on vacation.
Me: but i just bought this coupon and the price says its cheaper than it is.
Employee: sorry, i know it sucks because you wont get the points back and the game is more.

The District Leader, my former boss who fired me unceremoniously, will love this survey and subsequent request for a call back. Cannot wait to fill it out

Why not wait for the ring up before you traded your coupon? Every post of yours seems super odd. didn't you say you hustled like 3 Zelda master editions too? Or am I confusing you with someone else. Maybe you just have super hot then super bad luck?
 
Just realized GS had a NES Classic restock. I posted the locations to a new tab on the sheet. Sorry there is no way for me to get inventory just locations reporting at least one in stock.

Out of respect to those who went to battle with me everyday with odds against us, the sam people who stuck by my side during the armed robberies, lack of payroll, restless and sometimes sleepless nights because of inventories and releases, I wont. Just know it was a piss poor reason to move on from me and I hold a special kind of disdin for it.

Battlefield bad company 2 has done me well these last couple of days with padding my collection. RIP

on a semi-related note, my local gamestop is now pushing generic cases with the excuse "we need the original case as a display case". But aren't they the ones that trash cases anyway?

They trashed the case for the games that are $4.99 and under at my local Gamestop.

Just an FYI NES Classic restocks are happening at some GS stores.

Also later today I will be removing the Inventory tabs from the Flip / Boomerang sheets to their own shareable sheet as it has become it's own entity now.

 
I snagged an NES Classic yesterday after Best Buy advertised their restock on Twitter. Sat at the checkout screen for 30+ minutes waiting for it to finally go through.

 
Bought a used Dreamcast from GAMESTOP.COM

Just got it today... when I opened the box I found the system entirely plugged in.. the power, AV, and controller cords were plugged into the system.. WTF Gamestop.

So the rumor are true. I should have been more specific... When you tell them that you are trading towards the specific game do they add it to a down payment towards the game or do they treat it just like every other trade and just put it on a gift card that you can use on whatever?

Most states have laws for things like this. If it is marked that price it has to be sold at that price. In Wisconsin there are a lot of consumer protection laws and you can report things like this and the state will audit the business and fine them. In Michigan they use to have to mark the price on the actual item. Now they don't and if the item rings up higher than the shelf price they have to give you the shelf price plus a reward of 5x the difference up to a max amount. I worked for a major retailer in quite a few states. Your case would be a nice better business bureau call too.

That is what I was about to say, many states have to give you for whatever the lower posted price is.. be it scanned or marked.

The only way that they do not have to honor the pricing mistake is if they have a disclaimer clearly and visibly posted for that specific item in question.

Huh? You still arnt being clear. You have to tell them how much you want to put down. The minimum is five to get a bonus. It's system generated. Read the FAQ. Overages go towards a gift card. Ex: you trade in fifty bucks of shit, you get put five down to get a bonus. So if the bonus was 20% you'd get a card for 55 (60 minus the five down).

Thanks for the info. The part I wasn't sure about is how much gets put down towards the new game. I read the FAQ once someone pointed it out to me and will be trading in and just adding five towards the next game.
