I have drive 20-30 miles to get to stores that don't throw away the cases. All of my local stores if it is 4.99 or under the case is gone. Half of the 9.99 seem to be gone now too lately.

I wonder sometimes if GameStop ditches the cases or if the games just get traded in that way. It's about 50/50 complete vs disc only at the two stores near me. As far as disc only, I've had worse luck with buying used games from Best Buy's website than from GameStop in store.

I've bought 9 (or 12, I can't remember) copies of Rage from Best Buy and have yet to get a copy with the original art.

Maybe it is. All the stores that I go to are pretty small. I haven't seen a large gamestop tho.

I've only been to one and it was 90% statues, funkos, and other worthless crap so you aren't missing out. (i have tons of statues and funkos by the way, it's just absurdly excessive).

I used to find tons of original cases at 2 larger stores dumpsters.Ive found close to a hundred perfectly playable games too. I think like 2 dozen were sealed Kinect Adventures though.

Its really odd that people find games in dumpsters because we honestly aren't told to throw anything out as anything defective goes back to the warehouse unless someone leaves games that they don't trade in as those do get thrown out.

A few years ago some stores were instructed to field destroy all but a few of their copies of Kinect Adventures. This led to some throwing out 40+ copies.

You got them to concede, but they only gave you a $10 GC and not 50% off Deformers CE? Stone cold.

Similarly, I tried to get the 50% off the CE at two different stores today and no-go. I have a good relationship with both stores so I didn't push the issue.

$10 was better than nothing since I was already there. And with this game being online only it was pretty useless for my kids so ended up just getting 2 free codes for ps4.

I see this being $10 within a month. I can't believe I almost paid $40 for the CE. Luckily I was able to get the clerk to honor the 50% off email I got so I got it for $20. I can live with that (for the steelbook alone).

As someone who once dumpster dived I assure you I have found controllers 360s a ps3 boxes DLC Trade cards games guides and much more. Your store may have employees that hoard. I have gotten $100s sometimes or squat. Kiosks are worth $1000s.

I try to find the ideal areas and go hit right before the dump day. I actually averaged $10 a week trading it back but with gas it was not worth it. I have found much more profitable things online though I stop by one place due to them leaving a box on the side for divers. Make $0-60 a week from the contents.

Zatch Bell Mamodo Fury for GC and FFXII steelbook. Also found a working Phat Xbox 360 with 2 working Microsoft wireless controllers that were pretty worn but nothing thumbstick grips can't fix.

Haha, wow, brings back memories.  My dad was the king of dumpster diving back when I was a kid (~20 years ago).  Some of his best finds were an old-time gas pump, a bowling ball (somehow balanced it on the back of his bicycle), comic books, and a box of G1 Transformers with tech-spec sheets cut out.  I still have some of the TF stuff.  There's more I'm forgetting, but of course there was also the time he found what I think legally qualifies as a metric ass-ton of lemon-lime Gatorade, which I then had to take with me to school.  To this day I can taste that crap by just looking at the bottle, and I can't stand to drink it, lol.

Sorry, a bit off topic, I know.  Hoping for a stealth bump so I can dump my Halo Wars 2.

Is there a trade in value for Paragon: The Essentials Collection on PS4? I see it for sale on GameStop's website for $31.97, but it won't come up for trade in. I bought a new copy at Walmart for $3 on clearance this morning, but I don't have PS+, so if I can't flip it, it's going back.

Last day for buy 4 preowned games for $10. Not much left that I didn't already have, but these were complete:

Bound By Flame - PS3
Falling Skies: The Game - 360
Killer is Dead - 360
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes - 360

I already had Killer is Dead and Ground Zeroes digitally, but it was nice to have them in the collection. GameStop will get 95% less of my business after this sale ends.

Whenever people post what they got and don't say where, I just assume they got it from a flea market, thrift store, mom and pop shop, or something like that. Which I don't really understand...
