I don't know if it's already been discussed here, but I went to pick up Puyo Puyo Tetris tonight and got hit with the pitch for the new PUR Pro program.

It's PUR Elite. Costs $60/year and scores you:
30 points on nearly every purchase/trade
15% off used
15% extra trade credit on everything
15% off collectibles
Free 2 day shipping on anything ordered online or in store
Free $10 off any purchase cert each month

I think I'll sign up later this week just for the additional $10 off a month.
wait, 15% extra trade credit on everything?

I love GameStop. I'll totally give them back 60 bucks in some of the free trade credit they have given me to get 120 bucks back in yearly credit!

For Normal People this still is way below GCU/Prime to me but for flipping this sounds great

Let's be real, if this is true it'll be $10 off a used game every month or $10 off a limited selection of new games (like the gaming pass thing they've been doing). No way in hell they'll give away $10 in a worthwhile digital currency every month

Did u or anyone point out the bottom of their weekly ad saying it ends 04/25 under the 4 for $10? Or are they claiming it's an error? http://m.gamestop.com/gs/pages/weeklyad/current/041917/img/OLFSI_041917_4.jpg I wonder if anyone's been able to get them to override it or whatever... I didn't get a chance to pick up my 4 games either =(
No offense, but wasn't the sale going for a month? It's always a good idea to buy early. That way, you can get all the games that you might want before they're gone.

Sorry I didn't post a pic of the flyer earlier. They actually started taking sign ups last night. Guy at the register said we were one of only 2 districts in the pilot program for Elite. You don't have to be Pro to sign up in the first place. I'm located in Wichita, Kansas, btw.

Hmmm they still couldn't do 20% off pre-owned at 4x the cost. I guess they make it up with the free $10 every month. Wonder what happens to my Pro account that is good until 2021 when I upgrade.

EDIT - fuck just realized this causes more work to be done on the spreadsheet.

EDIT2 - They need to throw in a free copy of Deformers with signup.
I had the same question because mine doesn't run out until 2019. I don't know if the guy at the register actually knew what he was talking about, but he said that Elite worked on top of your regular pro subscription. So you don't receive additional time added on to your pro account, Elite is just readily available and works for 1 year, then you'd be back down to your regular pro subscription for the rest of the time that you'd already have.

Also, he said that your regular pro time does still continue to run while on Elite. Which seems like a a waste to me.

Noticed it states extra 15% bonus is on consoles as well.

If that's true it definitely cuts into the value of the elite. I'm also curious on the $10 monthly certificate. Knowing GameStop, it will only work on preowned.

The guy said it's a $10 cert that works on any purchase as long as it's not a gift card or virtual currency, so it's just like the regular $10 certs we have now. He said you get the new cert at the beginning of each month, too.

Wow, the new $20 Pro membership will grant you free 2-day shipping. How has no one mentioned that? That's a huge perk for just $5 more than what we're paying already.

its almost like best buy if you buy 1 game per month 12 buck saving at best buy comair to 10 here. really though its mostly 5 bucks free every month since your paying 5 per month

would of did it in second if it was 25% off used and extra 20% trade in....

So if they offer this here the tetris game gives 40% so this would give me 55%

Anyone know if you still get the b2g1 coupon for signing up for pro elite? Or a better sign up. Also does it cost 60 flat or is it 40 on top of the pro? Just seems to screw people already at pro if you can just go straight elite.

good question i wonder if you get any credit back.. i just joined p ro last month

$60 per year is a bit steep considering GCU is $30 for two years. Not bad tho and I'm happy to see more competition in terms of loyalty programs. I'd like it if they just made every new release during a month $49.99 for members

It's actually a pretty good deal in my eyes considering you get a $10 certificate each month that can be used on anything physical in the store, which basically amounts to $60 in free money a year. All the other benefits are just gravy.

Hmm, true. $10x12, if used every month would be $120. Suppose you could just pick up a $10 game every month or use it towards $60 new releases

damn I could see the 15% off collectibles really stacking up if you're into funko's or the statues they have.

gotta go pick up my usa mcree later, if they got some more overwatch funkos in might have to ask about it

I'm cool with the elite put because of the $10 off per month. Also the trade bonus will be nice, but hopefully it doesn't cause them to be stingier with regular trade bonuses.

Idk if I'll pay up immediately but next time I'm there and have enough trade credit.

Seems like elite would be worth it for me and anyone else who does heavy trading at Gamestop. $10 cert a month might convince me to get new releases from Gamestop instead of Best Buy.

I wonder how they will change the website to reflect three different possible prices/trade values.

I can see this being a mess with people that have Pro extended out for years.

If the 10$ certificate per month is truly good for anything (except gc's) then 60$ is worth it without question. If it's 10$ off a different headset every month then it would be hard to justify the 60$ upfront for the extra 5%. I'd have to trade or buy 1200$ worth of preowned stuff to make up the 60$. You could factor in the extra 10 points per $ spent but every 100$ spent basically earns you 1$ worth of points. They'll most likely offset the base value of consoles to nullify the extra 15% and I wouldn't use the 15% off collectibles.

Assuming the point values aren't nerfed further, given the GS/TG cert-only future outlined in that pamphlet.

Notice how they are raising the price of Pur Pro to $19.99 from $14.99 but keeping the items the same. And they have the nerve to charge 3 times the new increased pro price for a slight increase. No thanks Gamestop, guess that's it for me and having a Gamestop membership when I have Prime and GCU. Going to be a hard sale for them to convince me it's worth getting Elite much less Pro again.

EDIT: Didn't notice the first time but they are offering 10% bonus on collectibles and console trade in's so not exactly the same.

Wonder if they will have a catalog item for the elite membership? If I could use points to buy it that would make it much more enticing.

If they are indeed raising the price of Pro without really offering much more benefit, it would definitely be worth it to get a fairly lengthy membership extension before they switch things around.

But it's all in Beta and could just go away quietly, so who knows. :)

That is the old version of Pro.

The new version adds some benefits with the $19.99 membership.

You must have missed my earlier post: the $20 PUR membership gives you free 2-day shipping now. How much do you pay Amazon for that? Bazzap!

that is great, but i will believe it when i see it. right now it takes more than 2 days just to process an order, and so many orders just sit in limbo for weeks. gamestop doesn't have the processes in place currently to guarantee 2 day shipping unless its gamestop wording and means 2 days shipping after we process the order.

I would suggest looking at the pamphlet posted again.

Adding 10% bump on electronics and consoles, 10% off on collectibles, and free 2 day shipping isn't "keeping the items the same"
