Hard sell? GameStop is basically saying give us $60 and we'll give you $120 in store credit back + an extra 5% more trade credit over pro over a year.

If the past is any indication it won't be hard to turn those $10 certs into trade credit every month.

That isn't really a selling point considering I can just walk into a Gamestop to get my products today. And the few times I pre-order from Gamestop online, I always get my items launch day or 2 days later (YMMV of course). And even when I order stuff after release, it gets there in 2 days regardless.

idk, that's not much of a selling point and I doubt many people buy from Gamestop online vs. just going to a store.

But also, with Prime I get

• Unlimited streaming music
• Their selection of Prime videos
• Access to Prime Now (2 hour delivery is nice)
• 2 day shipping on thousands of items compared to the selective items offered from Gamestop (being online a gaming and apparel store)
• 20% off pre-orders and new games for 2 weeks after release
• Though there isn't a % off on items from Amazon Warehouse, it's always at least 10% off on not just games but every other item Amazon sells

Hell, I would have made my Amiibo pre-orders online if the cost was the same as in store. It was kind of a pain to waste a lunch break running over there.

I wasn't trying to compare it only replying to the comment.

Don't be surprised if you still get gutted copies from Gamestop online. I have a few times on older new items. Gamestop online will sometimes get their inventory from stores who have opened the items.

Great point actually. For items like that that aren't automatically free shipping, it is good to pay the $5 difference. I tend to just go to the store when I'm in the area and pre-order in store for home shipping. Shipping is always free that way but it does save time to just do it at home knowing I don't have to pay that shipping price either way.

This is a pretty good perk considering that SAVER doesn't always work with CAG16. This should eliminate that.

Oh man, you brought up an excellent point. If the free shipping perk works as advertised, meaning it works unlimited times on anything GS sells, a ton of more people are going to use the CAG16 code, and it'll eventually be killed off. I think it was originally an EB Games coupon, with many people eagerly waiting for those early morning updates on the site for rare games like Harvest Moon 64.

But in the meantime, we're effectively getting 26% off used games with Pro membership with free shipping, a whopping 31% off with Elite membership. Best Buy and Amazon are killing it on new games; Gamestop with used games. Sounds good to me.

Outside of the faster 2-day shipping (nice enough in its own right), the whole CAG16+SAVER stacking issue isn't as annoying now that $35+ orders get free Value shipping, which has been deceptively faster for my orders (sometimes arriving 2-3 days after placing an order).

I don't know if it's already been discussed here, but I went to pick up Puyo Puyo Tetris tonight and got hit with the pitch for the new PUR Pro program.
It's PUR Elite. Costs $60/year and scores you:
30 points on nearly every purchase/trade
15% off used
15% extra trade credit on everything
15% off collectibles
Free 2 day shipping on anything ordered online or in store
Free $10 off any purchase cert each month
I think I'll sign up later this week just for the additional $10 off a month.

Best Buy's program is $15/year and gives you $12 off not just one new game a month but every new game. And 5% extra TIC and 5% extra off used games feels like a pittance.

I just did a mock up BB GS comparison with the 15% off and 15% TIV bonus.

-It makes buying preowned on most new games slightly cheaper then BB with GCU on new.

-Makes BB to GS flips better

-Doesn't help much with GS to BB flips

All mystery items on the GS website are likely crap. my son has ordered those mystery fun boxes a couple times as well as the mystery xbox 360 game box or whatever it was and boy was he disappointed! Tons of random crap figures that he had never seen or heard of before. plus the games that came in the mystery box were some of the oldest 360 titles. Shame on GS for that mystery garbage crap

Last time I got one, it included a bloodshot comic, a Mirror's Edge pin, and a Goku vinyl fig.

Just had to deal with their CSR today...seems like they wanted to get rid of me as fast as possible. It rang like 2x and I only was on the phone with them for like 7 mins. I ordered something that is now oos and no longer orderable online. I got an email today saying my reward package had been returned to the warehouse because my address was incorrect and undeliverable and my points had been refunded. My address wasn't incorrect and I've gotten GS stuff before. Ughhhhhh. They are probably not gonna update the reward catalog now with it ending so soon grrrr. And the most awful part was there was nothing they could do about my order lost somewhere at the warehouse. Didn't even try to help me boooooo

Whats funny is that I redeemed points for 2 items that were bpth shipped put same day. One got here without any issues and one was marked undelieverable rofl.

You really only need to trade in $1200 (base tiv) in order for that extra 5% to fully pay off the cost of elite. Some might see that as a lot. Others like myself will say, "whats the problem?".  Some of those do that on a monthly basis.

It makes boomerangs better, flips from bb to gs better, no shipping cost, the free $10 a month, saving on collectibles, and so on. This is a no brainier.
