Gears of War 3 - Release Date Sept. 20

I was looking at the gamestop summer sale deals that they have going on and it has me really rethinking my Epic ED. The Duke & Tron CE are about 25%-50% off reg price. Granted they are suck ass games but still.
 
The Gears CE's typically stay up there in price for a while. Gears is a Triple A title, Duke was supposed to be and flopped and Tron just isn't.

bioshock 2 CE could be had for $30, starcraft 2 CE $50 at BB, fallout new vegas $30 at GS, Halo Reach Legendary $60, etc

the price will drop.

Halo Reach Legendary at $63.99 shipped is off of Amazon Warehouse deals and I'm sure Foster's Games and Movies, that Just launched mind you, is the exception to the rule and probably only has 1. The other CE's IMO are crap hence they dropped quick, SC2 the only thing in my opinion cool about it is the box and the Raynor dog tag, nothing about fallout and nothing about bioshock 2.

The next cheapest is $78.99 and they all go up from there. Best Buy is still selling it at MSRP and the game came out September of last year.

But you're absolutely right it will drop, it'll just take a year or 2 probably.

I want to grab 1 because it's going to be the last game but I can't bring myself to pay 150.
 
Ugh... this summer is dragging on and this game couldn't come out any sooner. My tolerance for Bitchy McBitch camp friendly shooters is finally at an end. If GoW 2's net code wasn't such a catastrophe this wouldn't be an issue. ;(
 
I'm planning on purchasing a new gamertag (800 MS points). Will this make the GOW3 beta game save uncompatible with my new gamertag? I do not want to loose my flaming skins.

It shouldn't, because your ACCOUNT isn't changing, just the name.

I'm still waiting for them to announce the GoW3 jock-straps. :lol:

If that figure ends up being exclusive it could fetch a good price on eBay later on. I'm still surprised that my SDCC Carmine figure has been selling for $150+ on eBay.
 
To be honest, i was late to the Gears of War game. I bought the 2-Disc edition of Gears of War 1, which was a really great purchase. Later, i got Gears of War 2, which i had a blast with in singleplayer. I couldn't get into multiplayer, and played Horde most of the time as a result.

Last month, i decided to stick Gears 2 in,jumped into a game after about a minute, and had a blast. I couldn't believe what i missed all that time it was collecting dust in my game collection...sure it was laggy and host advantage was unbelievably annoying, but it was great. Of course, i did get reset twice :whistle2:#

With all the improvements and information announced about Gears 3, i think it'll be a preorder for me:D

after 9/20 how long till the epic ED. is going to take a good price drop? or is Soldout?
I give the price drop 3mo. right around X-mas. soldout epic by march right around the time they will release a dlc

Well, I don't think that will be the case. The Best Buy in my city is still receiving new copies of Legendary Halo Reach and selling them at full retail. These "limited editions" are never as limited as I thought.
 
HEY I was going to do a pre-order the Epic & Retro lancer instore for my lil brother and they told me that they are no longer doing pre-orders on the lancer or the epic ed. now. anyone else have this happen to them?

I was able to pre-order this online yesterday...so I feel lucky.
 
I posted this in the Gears 3 preorder thread but I feel like this board gets way more traffic.

Does anyone have any idea if the UPCs for Gears will be different based on the store due to the stores having different DLC characters available?


They did this with LA Noire when it was released and I KNOW for a fact they did because I bought a copy from Amazon and a copy from GS and the UPCs were different numbers.

I'd like to buy 3 copies and return 2 for the DLC characters.

The video games guy at BB told me today BB has recently started emailing the DLC codes out now instead of having something physical to give customers.

Step 1: Click here http://j.mp/rrvsyh

- If you can't access this page this could be down to two reasons:

1) You haven't liked the "Gears of War" Page on Facebook, if so click here http://www.facebook.com/gearsofwar Then resume from next step.

2) Your account may be experiencing restrictions due to an age gate, you can change your settings from your Account/Privacy settings.

Step 2: Click the 'Get Griffin' side option, continue onto the page and select the button to recieve a code.

Step 3: Afterwards, it should refresh the box and reveal a code, if not, refresh the page, if this fails, re-access the 'Gears of War' page and then return back to the 'Get Griffin' side option, the code should be revealed.

Step 4: Copy & Paste the code into the redeem code option on www.xbox.com, or input the code into the redeem code option on your xbox console.

Step 5: You can download immediately and it will create a 56kb game save under 'Gears of war 3' called 'Griffin', this is the multiplayer character file.

Honestly feels like forever.

Not only am I waiting for Gears but I'm waiting for the Droid Bionic and Samsung GS2 to come out in September, 3 times as worse waiting.
 
Was going to get the Epic edition but think I'll get the standard edition and wait out for epic edition to drop in price. Now to figure out how to get all the pre order content from different stores..
