i actually shot(lancer) a guy for a whole minute while he was retro lancering my teammate. only for him to finish and run away. anyone else get retro lancered WHILE retro lancering? it happened to me in that one match i talk about above, we were running at each other and i lost somehow.
i need some advice on quick corner shotgun kills, when i try to latch onto a corner and shotgun the guy on the other side they usually live, but in my experience on the other side, i get killed the instant the guy hugs the wall (sometimes trade) do you just quick shoot or do you aim. which is better for corner sawed/gnasher?
Regarding your question, there's such a thing as "Right Side Advantage" with the shotguns. When you are facing a well and your enemy is on your right side on the opposite end of you, which would mean he has you on his left side.
That being said, right side advantage is just that, an advantage, due to the game's mechanics and the camera and if you ask me, the way the Sawed off is as well. Use it, take ADVANTAGE of it, but don't assume it's your ticket to easy kills because that's when you get obliterated by a sawed off noob who's hiding in a corner.
If you're using the sawed off there's no reason why you should be hard aiming at all. If you're using the left trigger with the sawed off out for any thing OTHER than spotting, you're doing it wrong.
With the gnasher, you want to hard aim enemies from a distance, how far that distance should be is something you learn to gauge by using the gnasher. In no circumestances should you be hard aiming at someone at "sawed off" range, you will lose.
If you ask me the key to the shotguns is learning where the killzone is on the screen when you're hip firing. Luckily this is also the key to clutching multiple opponents that are less skilled/using the sawed off and miss their shot/close range hammberburst tards/etc.
The gnasher is also capable of headshots, if you have someone rushing you with ANY weapon, unload from range with the gnasher, if it doesn't body them when they're close they should be downed, if they're already close, try and aim for the head because it will kill them.
I would use cover + blindfire sparringly if at all and only as necessary(getting rushed, taking cover from ranged fire)as in my experience with Gears 3, it's spotty and will leave you disappointed until you're more experienced with hip firing the shotguns. If you face a corner you retain the capability of one shotting victims AS WELL AS your mobility, while if you were taking cover on the corner you may sacrifice mobility by getting stuck on that cover or other adjacent cover if you miss your window of killing your victim.
All this is with the assumption that you don't get screwed over by lag.
I know this is kind of a lot of general info, but if you combine the right side advantage with knowing where your killzone is at without having to hard aim you can get easy corner kills without playing like a loser, though I can't guarantee the people you kill will agree.
There's no real easy way to explain it in my opinion, it just takes practice, I hope I helped at least, I'd be willing to play with you or get in some private matches or something.
