Gears of War 3 - Release Date Sept. 20

Best Buy is usually very easy. Two lines, one for pre-orders one for everyone else, pre-orders go in first. At my local store, they usually have about 3-5 cashiers and it goes by pretty fast.

I also seen the bulletstorm skin name in one of the videos, it was in the unlocks menu i believe. Who knows if it actually made it into the game. Personally i hope not.

Ugh... I truly envy you midnighters. Due to the ridiculous amount of bullshit business practices Microsoft and Epic have adopted for this game I absolutely HAVE to get the best deal possible to justify the purchase. Even for Gears which I love to death. I have quite a few hours left on my counter before I can tear open my copy. Enjoy guys! I hope to see or play with some of you later during the week.

Is it just me or are GameStop preorders the worst...

...here lets put you in this big ass line that wraps around the mall, and split you up into 4 cashiers at the last second
 
I just got home from Wal Mart there was 2 other people there plus me, but I'm sad cuz they didn't have anything to give me, no pre order skin, nothing.


And all my prior unlocks are unlocking more shit mwuahahahahahaha

Is anybody's Best Buy having a tournament on top of the midnight release? The Roseville store in Cali said there were going to a couple weeks ago and now it's not happening. I don't know what happened?

My Best Buy gave out a Tshirt and a backpack, one of those mini backpack things with the long strings and little bag. The shirt actually looks pretty good for free videogame related swag.

I got there at 12:07 and they said I was the 4th person there. Another four had arrived by the time I left, but it was a slow night for them.

Westminster Mall location was going to have one, they canned it because corp. put a stop to it since its an M rated game.

Oh, okay. That's probably what happened to all Best Buys then. I don't get why they just wouldn't check ids. They have to check them anyway when the cust buys the game.
 
As much as it pains me to say this and I don't want to jump to conclusions, but I think there's some sort of glitch where you're downed but you move super fast and slider all over, this dude was doing it constantly and it was only him and he was sliding over to team mates super fast getting revived.

He was also raping everyone somehow eating up gnasher slugs.


*Shrug* The sliding was definitely weird.

I went to campaign, there's a short video that catches you up over the course of the games up to this one and it keeps stuttering, the audio cuts in and out, it freezes, very disappointing.......firing up Hardcore to see what it's about.
 
For anyone that got the console is it pretty normal for the Slim power supplies to be loud? Not as loud as the old model Xbox was, but a definite hum that you can hear? I'm getting conflicting reports to whether this is an issue or not. It sounds like it is running fine to me, kind of the volume of my PC fan.

Also, if anyone wants to play today look me up. I should be around most of the day and I'm looking to do some co-op.

It's normal for SOME slims. Mine, for example, is loud (regular 4GB slim). Others aren't. It's really just random luck if you get a loud one or a silent one. Check on the back of the brick to see which Rev you got. Theres either B, 02, or 03. B is loud 75% of the time, and 02 and 03 are loud maybe 25% of the time (I have 03 so I got boned).

Thanks, mine is Rev 04 which I guess may be a new revision. I suppose I'm not going to worry about it, but it is a bit annoying when the volume is low.
 
I love this fucking game. Protip: Check your sensitivity settings, never play with bum ass randoms, spot like crazy and ugh... I love this fucking game so much but SANDBAR SUCKS.

Oh, and I was soooooo wrong about Sam's voice. It's perfect. And also kind of sexy.

Yea, it can get annoying. I have a PS3 slim (which is basically silent), so when I jump on my 360 the noise difference is more noticeable. I rarely install games, so it's not THAT bad since the noise of the disc spinning drowns out the bricks noise while I'm playing.
 
UGH I'm SO jealous of everybody that got the game at midnight, I just got back from an early-morning trip to the gym, and am patiently waiting the Amazon shipment at my apartment. See you online in a few hours (hopefully!)

What sensitivity options are there, and what do you recommend?
 
Just hopped out of a game where I 1v5 clutched YET AGAIN with free thrown Incendiaries on Overpass. God damn. I've got to say without a doubt the Hammerburst is still king of the rifles in this game. So sexy, so accuracy, so noob proof. I cannot stress enough how important it is to check your sensitivity settings and not play with randoms. Although I've only played on a few it's way too easy for a competent team to camp on power weapon spawns and control the map with rifles. I'm not sure I want to go back to the Retro and Sawed-off now that I've readjusted into Gears 3. The teams are so bad you can't afford to rush alone for weapons because you WILL get dominated by Lancers and Retros. Just gotta get my aiming straight and my bounce back up to snuff, but god damn... I love this game.

Personally character maneuvering didn't feel right until I cranked it up to the 15 for everything. Any slower than that and I wasn't quick enough to react. Seems to be my sweet spot. The max is 19 - 20ish I think. :D

Ryu: I'm honestly not sure. I didn't do my homework but I wouldn't be surprised. All I remember is that the VA played a main female character in the Uncharted games. I think Uncharted 2 specifically but she's done a fantastic job. I'm very hyped to hear Bernie in game now.
