Gears of War 3 - Release Date Sept. 20
I doubt that anyone, ever, will actually play 3000 legit matches of each game type in Gears 3.
I agree...its a ridiculous achievement to gain during standard play sessions. Epic fail. Pun intended ;)
Earning it legit is more satisfying. [...] For me its not about showing off what medal i have, its the challenge and doing it all the way through. Plus if you got banned you get banned from every gears game and i aint going to risk that, and dont want to make a new GT just to play it.
That's kind of what I meant, but I just was confused why people would waste time boosting for Seriously... if they're not going to bother playing the game as it's meant to be played.

I hate to make personal excuses, but I do feel like Seriously 3.0 is a different sort of achievement. Epic has even explained that they're fine with people 'boosting' idle matches in private, as it doesn't interfere with other players online experience. It's probably similar to the sawed-off shotgun implementation, where they realize it's an absurd achievement in what it requires, and would probably change it, but are too stubborn at the same time.

Seriously 2.0, while excessive, it the best Seriously, as it encouraged you to just play the game. The first one was poorly planned as it only counted in Ranked, non-Annex games, which limited it's availability after so many months. That, and it's poor tracking based around player 'trust' is just dumb. Seriously 2.0 didn't punish me for playing Horde or the Campaign, which made it much more pleasing to play for. I dislike how Seriously 3.0 demands that you repeatedly play all game types, use all the weapons, and play specifically as a female. It's limiting in design, and not truly viable, even for people who greatly enjoy the series.

I hope if Judgment has a Seriously, as I'd expect it to, that it'll be aimed more at encouraging play, not targeted for each individual play type, weapon and character.
Where'd you find a windows copy? I haven't looked too hard yet, but I casually looked around and couldn't find it anywhere.
I was able to get a physical copy off of Amazon for $25+, just around the release of the 3rd game. I was casually checking and found a 3rd party seller offering it. It also comes with a code for a free month of Xbox Live Gold (which you need to host games on Windows Live).

I did boost in private matches, but i played the hell out of the game the right way too. Probably why it took me longer than it should have. I know when guardian first came back i played that to death and onyx 2-3 medals just by playing that mode. I played about 1,500 TDM matches before i started to boost AFK. So yeah i boosted but i played the game legit too and had fun doing it.

Seriously 3.0 is an achievement that no one will get legitly playing the game the right way. Unless its some guy 4+ years after the game was released. I too hope if they have a seriously 4.0 in judgment that its more towards playing the game and not boosting in private matches. I think the problem was they made the requirements too much. But then again i had the feeling they were hoping this game would be popular for 3+ years. But that backfired on them, and now they are making a new one to try and fix it. It makes more sense to have a seriously achievement be something such as beat campaign on insane, see every ending, beat horde on insane, stuff like that.

That's the thing that annoys me about Seriously 3.0. I may well still be playing Gears 3 in another 3-4 years, but I'll be playing the game modes I enjoy-- Horde, co-op campaign, a little TDM here and there. I just don't like Wingman (for instance). If it was 10 or 20 matches or something, then sure, I'll give it a chance. But 3000, I'm just never going to put myself through that. Hell, even people who do enjoy pretty much everything the game has to offer, there's probably at least one gun they don't like to use or game mode they don't prefer.

Right, wingman is not a bad mode, but in gears 3 the population is low. If you are by yourself you tend to get stuck with bots for partners, or guys who will quit on you. Even more annoying are the guys that are just spinning in circles to boost and not playing at all. I once kept running into the same guy spinning in circles throughout the day. Who wants to go through all that garbage?

Wow a 1v1 special event. So badass.

People on the GOW forums are saying they got the achievement but I've gotten no ribbon.
Went from 45 to 65 just playing 1v1 guardian.
Turn on utorrent let it lag and play 1v1 against bots for 9k+ exp a game
That is definitely boosting, and you'd be advised to avoid doing that. They posted on their forums months ago about people doing this risk getting banned from online play because of it. You're manipulating the game, and their servers are setup to check for this. Too many games against bots will makes them suspicious to you.

I don't buy it. No way they can check if its intentional lag or unintentional. They can't even get their servers straight, I doubt they have something like that in place.

I'm not sure of the setup, I just know Joe Graf himself posted it. The game is supposed to keep track of how many games you are in without other players. If you hit a certain amount, it's supposed to send off a flag. Bad connection results if you're permanently the host, but since the game has dedicated servers, it's supposed to avoid this. It's not impossible to have a game where it's you against bots, it's just unlikely that it would be happening repeatedly for long lengths of time.

If you'd like to prove this warning wrong, you're more than welcome to. Just be advised that you've been warned.
Hmmm...wonder if it'll happen. Gears 3 was supposed to hit in the spring and got pushed to fall...I somehow see this happening again.

Hope I'm wrong though.
Some guy got a tattoo at SDCC for that info so I sure hope it is legit. :)

Wasn't that already known information? My Amazon pre-order already had mention of a March date for some time now. I think for at least a week or two.

Amazon still lists the release date as Dec. 31 2013

Yeah we never really had a date until now. Its not like GOW 3 will be dead if judgment has its own MP. People still play 1 and 2
Digital download $20 through the market place. Got tired of waiting for a sale that would never come so I broke down and bought it.
Thanks. I'm really hoping to find it for less though. Only really want it to unlock a skin and play the extra scene although the mods sound cool. Almost got Max Payne 3 on PC because of all the great mods for 1 & 2, but I just don't have a gaming rig for it and I figured it was more console based this go around anyway.
Wow a 1v1 special event. So badass.

Hope I'm wrong though.
Depends, what's the exclusives for Xbox look like next fall? Halo 4 is this year of course, what about a Halo 2 HD remake next fall? What else? Wasn't the main reason it got pushed back before due to wanting to create a better christmas season for 360? They stated it would give them more time to polish the game. Maybe they should have worked on dedicated servers...

I still need several mp cheves and a few horde ones.

Apologies for my mistake. I somehow knew it came out on/around my birthday, and swore Amazon sent me a pre-order update. Maybe I misread the God of War: Ascension date and confused the two.

It's what Joe Graf said. It could be a grand lie, like a lot of what Epic says, but I wouldn't want to risk rank over something like that when you can gain a lot of XP in Horde mode, or other game modes.

I'm curious to hear if they mention dedicated server 'support' for Gears of War: Judgment. I don't think that will go over too well this time with getting applause from audiences at conventions.

Since there's still people playing the first game, I'd expect a small but reliable community for the second game. But if you're interested in going after the multiplayer and Horde achievements you'd probably better off looking for teammates. I'd expect most people still playing multiplayer to be clans or parties, and you'd be at a strong disadvantage against them with unknown teammates...or worse; bots. Same for Horde mode, as it can be immensely annoying with random players that don't 'work as a team.'

I was going to ask if people from this site wanted to play/get help in Horde mode in Gears of War 2, but I don't know if people would be interested in it.

Yeah finally got a ribbon for it and GOW 2 seems to still be alive from the streams I watch.

Like I said I still need a couple of the cheves. Burning bloodmounts is one and besides it will help me slowly chip away at Seriously 2.0. We could probably find some people from Trueachievements or another cheves site if not from here.

Played some 1 on 1 last night. Got paired with a guy who I beat 85% of the time, but he really hung in there. Even taunted me before a couple of executions. I was like "I just beat you 12 times in a row and you're going to taunt when you finally get a win." And then I won another 10 in a row. Went up from 80 to 84. Also, this is a great boost for several goals. It got me to Gold MVP, a bunch of executioner ribbons for a mutator. Lots of ctl matches, ctl wins as leader and button up ribbons as well. Wish it applied to skunker.

He was probably going for the Vengeful Medal points. Actually, that's probably a great playlist to go for that in since you're only facing one other person, so it's narrowed down for you if you keep getting killed by them.

I already have all of the Gears of War 2 achievements, and I'd need to install it again. If you need an extra player, I'll help, just let me know in advance so I can free up space on my hard drive and download the maps. I'm certain there's people on this site who don't have all 1750. Hopefully they'd join up to get their missing achievements, rank up, and/or add to their Seriously 2.0 count.

I prefer Horde mode, suck at competitive, but if you need help for those achievements I'll do my best.

I did the burning bloodmouts achievement on my own, just start wave 10 on all fathers garden i believe, run to the scorcher and wait for them to spawn. shoot the riders off before they get close then burn the beasts. You might get 1-3 before you die, but you eventually get it.

Got to level 76 with that 1v1 force multiplayer boosting, shit gets boring and tedious

I've been in close a thousand guardian matches and not once have I seen people boost but I see a lot of people teabagging now its kinda odd. Pent up dudes sexually moving their stick back and forth pretending to fuck you.
I've tried to join quick matches where people are just downing the AI controlled enemy over and over and over for a measly 50pts each down.
Yeah, that's what I meant by boosting. One guy was at 58 downs...

LOL I don't know why people care about their level in a game like this. Upping your level does nothing except make you look more experienced then you really are. What good is looking like a level 70 when you play like a level 2?

GoW: Judgement release date confirmed for March 19, 2013.

I will not be buying it--not new, at least. After GoW3, I refuse to support Epic's shit anymore. It's a shame because I really do enjoy their games, but they fuck over their fanbase with everything else.

I still have no idea which events I missed from the first cycle of events, so I don't know if I'll ever get the Socialite achievement. And that crap was glitched anyway, so really there's not much to feel accomplished about since everyone has it already.

So they lied about dedicated servers...
Did epic halve the arm rip and GNP execution times? Everytime I see someone do them now as a finisher the game just ends.
I think sometimes it ends right away when the player being executed leaves the game.

Also like linkin prime said, if someone chainsaws them it will end it, and it gives the person who did the chainsaw xp for execution. lol
Meh i'm torn equally.
I love them both. Good thing God of War Ascension comes out before Judgment, so ill be able to finish the story in that before Gears MP sucks me in again. LOL.
