I think I'm just going to put off getting that Infamous 2 Platinum for a little while. I just need to do a evil play through on hard.
Robin's in Arkham City? Awesome, but Nightwing better be in it, too.
Robin is barely in the game. He is just getting just 2 challenge maps.
Is the 2nd one worth playing through at all? I keep wanting to see a really cheap ($15 or less) deal on it and thinking if I do, I'd bite... but not sure if it'd be worth it. I loved the first game to death, FWIW... did every skill point in that effin' game.
The 2nd one is a big step down from the first. They made it super generic and boring IMO.
I played a bit of that game and enjoyed what I played. How long is it? I have so many fucking games to play, but I've always been interested in that series.
Took me 12 hours sticking to the main story. The gameplay is a bit outdated (although still fun), but the story is really what kept me interested.
Are we talking little boy Robin or teen Robin?
We're probably talking teenaged Robin (in a Tim Drake costume)

I know and don't care, I still want Nightwing in a challenge map! Nightwing's a badass!

Just in case Broly wasn't being a troll, Nightwing's the original Robin (Dick Grayson all grown up). He steps down from being Robin and creates the persona Nightwing and moves away from Gotham to become the hero of Bludhaven.
Really? I don't think it's that big of a deal.
You're everything wrong with gaming and society. fuck off
Really? I don't think it's that big of a deal.
You will when that Nightwing DLC is exclusive somewhere else. Or when amazon offers a $20 credit with it.

Edit: Amazon is actually already offering a $10 credit with it. Plus the 360 version is already $3 less than retail. And no tax...so yeah. I'm not paying $15 more for 2 Robin challenges.
You will when that Nightwing DLC is exclusive somewhere else. Or when amazon offers a $20 credit with it.
I just order from whoever has the best DLC. I've only ever preordered 2 games from Amazon and neither have had preorder credits, so that's not really a problem for me.

Also JSP, I don't like that they're keeping content exclusive but nothing I can do about it, I'm not gonna boycott a game just because of retailer exclusives so I might as well just buy wherever I get the preorder I want.

Anything annoying in Infamous 2 for platinum -- some of the style/tricks were annoying the first time and collecting the blast shards was annoying.
And spoiler that shit, bro. I'm on Arkham City media blackout.

Why would you want only the best DLC instead of all the DLC? My point is retailer exclusive game content means you aren't getting all the content when you buy the game. If it was just costumes or something I don't care, but actual game content is something I want to play.

How is a preorder bonus a spoiler, Frosty? It's nothing involving the actual game's story or gameplay.

Also, I heard that the Infamous 2 blast shards are a million times easier to collect because you get a special radar sense thing to help find them.

I do want all the DLC, but unless they do it like Rockstar I doubt I'm going to get it (until AA GOTY) and like I said before, I'm not going to boycott the game and they're not going to stop releasing exclusive DLC so I'm going to just buy where I can get my favorite thing, then wait for GOTY.

If it was another game I might abstain from purchasing, but Batman has me over the proverbial barrell.

Oh I'm not saying to boycott the game. I'm not saying you can really change it. But I am saying that you should at least be able to see why this type of retailer-exclusive content is annoying.

I have no idea what it is, I just know you're telling me shit I don't know... so I assume it's a spoiler. :p

They had radar sense in the first inFamous, but it was fucking useless. I was missing 7 blast shards when I had to say fuck it and decide to meticulously track them during my evil playthrough.

Oh I see how it's annoying, I was super pissed when Scarlet Spider was a preorder bonus at K-Mart for Shattered Dimensions (because I don't have a K-Mart here). Okay, I understand what ya'll were saying and agree.

Then almost all is well.

If it's just challenge maps, who cares? Not this guy.
I think I tried the Joker content once or twice, but it wasn't something I thought was good enough to actually want to finish playing through them. ^_^

I don't think it's a huge deal or anything, since it is just a small amount of content. But I did enjoy the challenge maps in AA, and now if I buy the game somewhere else, I won't feel like I got all the content. For me, I draw the line at actual gameplay content. Even a small amount of missing original gameplay content is enough to bother me.
Anything annoying in Infamous 2 for platinum -- some of the style/tricks were annoying the first time and collecting the blast shards was annoying.
Not really, I got most of the trophies in my first playthrough(good). The only thing that may be annoying is playing the User Created Stuff from sucker punch...

Honestly I collected all but one blast shard in the last game and said fuck it. I may get Infamous 1 again and try and find that one dumb shard... But thankfully there is a late game ability in Infamous 2 that lets your Blast Shard sense pick up blast shard even if you are no where near one.

This makes sense and I agree entirely. If they want to offer skins or costumes or extra maps as preorder bonuses to try to entice gamers to buy at a certain store, fine, whatever -- it's like "here, choose the part of the eventual DLC you'd like part or all of for free".

The second they start saying something like "get your free online pass when you preorder at bestbuy" and everyone else has to fork out $10 to play online? That's when it becomes straight bullshit.

I had 7 left and I had a good idea of which ones on the map I had I was probably missing... and I still couldn't find them with the frickin' pinging power. :bomb:

I combed each Island multiple times trying to find that last one. I swear the Ping ability was missing that last one... it wouldn't have been the first time it happened.

Games with collectathon type stuff like that really need to do a better job of letting you figure out which ones you are missing. When games don't have any kind of checklists for that stuff broken down to manageable areas (or a good alternative), I don't even bother collecting things.

Honestly that's the only reason I found almost all of them in Infamous. But they improved it in Infamous 2 so I found all of them pretty easily. Once you brought the Improved Shard sense it was impossible not to find all the shard. Also I found the Dead Drops easier to find in the Infamous 2 as well.

When I get mad about this kind of thing, I eventually come to this conclusion. I barely used the joker content in AA. I also barely used the gigawatt blades which were from Gamestop for Infamous 1.
I combed each Island multiple times trying to find that last one. I swear the Ping ability was missing that last one... it wouldn't have been the first time it happened.
The ping is actually a sphere with an upper boundary. By the blast zone on the third island there is a shard which won't show up because it is on the top of a very tall building.

I knew that already ready. But there was one that I was standing a few feet away from and my shard sense wouldn't pick it up.

This sounds promising. I liked how AC2 had the feathers marked out by districts... and the codex pages usually showed up if you did all the eagle perches.

Switching between Infamous and Assassin's Creed 2 made me wish that AC2 had some sort of way to let me know when feathers are nearby, as the treasure maps are kind of half-assed by just showing where treasure is. I was able to use a map to get the last few blast shards that I missed in Infamous, but I'm glad that Infamous 2 has a great upgrade to the radar. Just Cause 2 is another great game in that respect, as they limit where collectibles are (only within villages/bases where the reception bars help you find them) and the other types of collectibles that are outside of that are marked on the map so you can find them easily.

Do the Blast Shards just show up on the map once you get that ability? I noticed there's a symbol for them on the map screen.
Do the Blast Shards just show up on the map once you get that ability? I noticed there's a symbol for them on the map screen.
Not unless you are close to one, If Cole is no where near a blast shard the mini-map will just point you in direction of the closest shard.

Ugh, I can't play BC2 online because my password doesn't work. My password doesn't work because of EA's new Origin service. Even after I changed my password it still doesn't work. Now I have to wait 12 hours before I can play online.

EA support is pretty much non-existent.

Shit, thanks for reminding me that I need to set up my Origin account thing.

It's weird, ever since I started playing DCUO I've been getting a LOT of spam on PSN. Like in the past 2 days I've gotten 9 messages, all from different users claiming they were PSN Officials that needed my password and login or that they wanted to give me PSN credit but needed my login to give it to me. WTF.
Weirdest message I've got from PSN was this:

The attachment took me to AE in the PSN store.
That's really weird, I've never seen anything like that, except for maybe the messages they'll send to remind you that you have credit in your wallet you haven't spent.

I've had messages like that for getting the season subs to Telltale games that tell me when new episodes are available to download.

Subs? But I didn't sign up for anything, maybe it just went to me because of my trophy count in the game?

Are you saying you've never played the game or bought any DLC? It could be based on DLC purchases that could create an entry for you on your Services List (Account Management > Transaction History > Services List), as that's where my season passes for Sam & Max and Back to the Future are noted and I'd bet that that's where it's pulling that from.

I played the game and bought content for it, but nothing that would go under services.

It doesn't have to be a subscription thing, but anything that the developer might want to do it for. For example, my Super Stardust HD unlock code is on there.

Just checked and there's absolutely nothing dealing with Capcom or Street Fighter under there.

Interesting. I guess the Capcom boogeyman is watching you then.
Hey, LA Noire peeps! Is the DLC any good? I'm thinking about picking up that Rockstar pass before it goes up in price on Tuesday.
I haven't played the DLC yet because I'm just waiting for all of it to come out so I can play it all at once. (I hate getting back into a game for only like an hour, and then waiting another few weeks just to do one more hour, etc.)

With that said, I figure, $10 is a great price for 4 main DLCs plus all the little ones, so I bought it.

Well I would say yes because the soon-to-be 4 extra cases will be $16 by themselves so you can get them for $10, or less if you are playing the PS3 version and have left over money in your wallet as I did.

I have played both pre-order cases (Slip of Tongue and Naked City) and I would say each of them was about 60-90 minutes long, as long as any of the other major cases. Naked City had more action, was longer, and was harder to get a good rating on (no guide I got 4 stars on Tongue and 3 on Naked City.) Next case, an arson one, comes out next week and the final one, another vice one, comes out in late July.

Both DLC cases so far have 5 achievements/trophies for each, 4 hidden and 1 just for beating the case (which is a gold one on PS3 so 2 easy gold trophies.) I would imagine the next 2 DLC cases follow suit.

They are of course best played as you're going through the game so you get the XP during them, but can be played fine on replay mode, just don't get XP. In terms of the story, Naked City ties in with the main theme of the Vice desk while the traffic case does not. Naked City also properly introduces your old Traffic partner as Rusty's new homicide partner so if you thought that reunion was a bit awkward in the game, it was because this case had the proper introduction.

So you're telling me my EA account will no longer work until I go to the Origin site and setup everything there? Is that on 360 also or just PS3? I played Tiger Woods online earlier today on PS3 and I didn't get any error messages and I was able to play online fine, as was my friend I was playing against.

Origin is a PC service (basically replaced EADM). It just messed up my password and stuff, which locked me out of my EA account within BC2. Just goes to show that Steam is a much better platform for online games.

Any takers for AE, MvC3 or AH3?
