fuck you guys for not taking my troll bait about primal rage's story
It's hard to troll the trolls.
Primal Rage had the worst special move inputs of all time.

They tried to be 'different', but made it unplayable.
Amen. All I ever did was pick Blizzard, mash punches. He had an easy ass combo using his both punch backhand into his medium punch, repeat. Shit was so killer.
Not necessarily.

Tekken has special moves -- I'm talking about charge moves, motion inputs, etc. Doesn't matter if it's some sort of actual SF-ish special or if it's just something like Jin's various non-lighting corkscrew uppercuts. Projectiles aren't necessary either.

I liken it to one of the reasons I hate smash bros. -- I can't stand "forward+x does 1" "down+x does 2" "back+x does 3" etc. :\

--

I do remember Primal Rage -- as a pre-teen, that was the shit -- it was just after MK hit and started paving the way of ultraviolence in video games -- Time Splitters was another one from around that time, lopping off limbs during the match and shit.
I don't like Smash Bros. Game is just shitty IMO, fanservice or not.

VF is more about timing than inputs, but you can pick Akira or Kage and get all of the crazy inputs you want. The reasons I like VF are that it's simple on the surface, deep if you learn it, and it's about timing, not pulling off ridiculous moves. Every move has an application.

BTW, I love Tekken. :bouncy:

I think you're thinking of Time Killers, not Time Splitters. Two very different games. ;)
Shit that'll probably be useful in ME3.

Rachni lives/dies, Wrex lives/dies, Ashley lives/dies, a few details pertaining to minor sidequests, opinions of squadmates of you, etc.
You do realize with all the time they put into ME2, nothing was actually imported was useful or changed anything in any way that mattered. Everything was still scripted from beginning to end.

Yes, indeed I was.

And you said the magic words ever VF fan utters at some point or another that I still don't believe: "it's deep".

That's what I really want someone to show me. I want to see the "depth" so I can either go "ooooh, fuck me, how did I not see that? Ok, respect." or "Hahaha, that's what you call depth". But I don't think anyone I've ever had this conversation with has provided examples.

My favorite fighter is still:

Okay, that's the third time I got killed in RDR because I got into a fight, pulled out my gun and ended up with the lasso instead because I used it last time I played.

I still wish that were a good game. Like I'll lie to myself to this day that it's kind of alright.

It is not kind of alright.

A lot of the depth is from how differently characters play. Obviously you cannot play as Akira like you'd play as Lau, and you wouldn't approach Goh like you'd approach Sarah.

My friend plays Lau, he doesn't plan on getting too involved in VF. Lau is a beginner character, easy to use. He can PPPK combo all day, go for juggle setups, just play offensively all day. Now Akira, you can't just do that with him. He's got a lot of set up moves, but you end up having to play off of your opponent instead of just nonstop offense. Bait out moves, wait for them to slip up, know your frames, know what can and can't be punished, and don't leave yourself open.

I play Aoi lately, and I've played a lot of matches on XBL against randoms, anywhere from complete noobs to experienced pros. You can tell a noob from a pro easily. I like to bait out moves and reverse them. Say I'll knock a dude down. They get up and sweep, I sneak in and low grab them. I bait out crouching punches and counter them. It's satisfying to do, and it makes them think "Shit, I gotta change up my game or die." And the noobs will usually die because they don't know anything else but stick attack out and hope it lands. Now, better players will not fall for these games, or will learn fast, then I have to adapt, go for safe attacks and pokes, try to get them to crouch so I can land some mids, or bait out some attacks to sidestep and attack them from the sides or rear while I have the frame advantage.

Now, if I'm fighting Jeffry, I don't want to be up in his grill because that $$$$a hits hard and has lethal throws, so any Jeffry player will be trying to smash my face in or land throws, so I usually hit and run, don't throw out unsafe moves, pressure then let up, and just make sure I control the pace of the fight, staying at mid range. Against somebody like Jacky or Sarah, I'll chill and let them take wild swings, then dodge or counter them, go on the offensive when I can. Aoi is a mostly defensive player, despite what her move list will leave you to believe. She's also lower tier, so I have to do more work than just mash PPPK and hope for the best.

The depth in VF, IMO, comes from learning all of the matchups, and learning the characters, their moves, how to use them, learning frame advantages, and what to do in situations. It's deep like chess, it's not overly complicated, just a lot different setups and situations, several choices in each, not deep by just having 300 moves.

If you want some tricky inputs "depth" then you can master throw breaking. Throws, depending on the final input, have three different ways of being broken. P+G, towards and P+G, and down and P+G. Well, it's possible to actually buffer all 3 and be able to break any grab coming your way. That kind of shit, I'm pretty scrubby at lol. Also, you can safe land from a giant swing, so even that's not a devastating move anymore.

I rambled a bit in this, but I'm never going to write a strategy guide, so whatev.

Naw, that's a fair explanation of why VF is considered a "deep" game. Let's face it, you can mash buttons on every fighting game, deep or not. It's all about whoever it is actually playing the game and what they make out of it.

MK was a pretty stiff fighter with mostly slow characters and not enough frames of animation. The best part to me was the fatalities and most of them were a pain in the ass to pull off.

Similar to the original Street Fighter, I guess.

Yes, yes I do.

Hence me saying, "probably gonna be useful in ME3".

You seem to be assuming that since none of it mattered in ME2, it will have to matter in ME3.

While those of us with any sense assume since they didn't give a shit in ME2, they'll give even less of a shit in ME3.

I figure stuff like the Rachni, the Geth renegades etc. will come into play in ME3 since the little blurb that came out mentions needing to rally the galaxy to fight the reapers.

That said, I don't care that much if decisions really get carried forward. Doing to much of that ends up making it harder to have a good story, which I care about more than the choices really mattering.

I kind of want to replay ME anyways since I don't remember a hell of a lot of that happened
besides bangin racists

If they touted the shit as having an effect on the story/world in 2 and nothing really changed, where does the probably come in? Especially regarding choices made in the first game, now that this is a multiplatform title and PS3 owners have no real way to
change the fate of the Rachni
for example.

the game has some interactive comic or some shit to retell ME1. I'm guessing they're gonna let you make some choices in it, which will substitute for the character import.

Too bad they didn't let you import everything about your character, then scale the enemies accordingly.

And besides, Bioware didn't take the time to come up with ways for three or four story choices from ME to impact 2, I doubt they'll create different outcomes for the ME choices+ME2spoilers
the possible of death of every single party member in ME2
in the third game.
Best place to buy a new HDD for my 360? fucking tired of my crammed 20gb
Craigslist?

And as for ME3, I was hoping some game sequel would really reward players for playing the previous game, but I guess I'll have to keep waiting.

Umm, yes they can. Or at least you could transfer to used HDDs in the past.

I'm starting to hate owning a Wii alot... anything in the future I should be happy about coming out?

If I sell it I lose, if I keep it I lose... If I didnt have data on the damn thing as well as NMH1/2 I'd care alot less about the thing...

Everyone you know is dead.

There is potential to make that matter in the sequel.
Are we talking about Mass Effect still?

Because in MY mass effect 1+2,
The only person to ever die was that cunt Ashley, though I tried to get Jack killed off but failed. I can't wait to see my work making sure everyone survived the suicide mission result in a one cutscene where all of my non-playable-in-ME3 ME2 allies yell at me and act like assholes inbetween my boring missions with a new batch of disposable retards.

I was at that point looong ago. I still hate the friend who got me to buy it.

I know if I had a Wii, every day I would look at it and lose part of my soul. Eventually it would drive me so mad just seeing it sitting there, unused, that I would throw it in the garbage...but when I awoke the next day, I would find it sitting there, right between the 360 and the PS3.

Well, I'd be a little freaked, but I would assume there was a rational explanation. So I would throw it away again, this time on garbage day, and I would weigh down the lid of the garbage can with a brick or two, just to be sure.

Then the next day, there would be the Wii, waiting for me.

That would be too much. I would take it down to the basement workshop, fire up the saw, and be done with the cursed thing. Only to find that when I brought the whirling blade down upon that white plastic, it wouldn't leave so much as a mark.

"Vile beast!" I would scream to the heavens, "Why must you torture me?"

And I would lose my mind, doing all I could to destroy this hell-spawned console. I would run it over with my car, I would throw it from the highest window, I would light it on fire and, when all else failed, I would tie it down with heavy weights and drop it into the sea.

The next day I would awake, and find no Wii sitting there to greet me. Ecstatic, I would go about my day.

But what would happen later, as I cheerfully came down the stairs?

I believe I would get my feet tangled in a Wii nunchuk that should never have been there, and I would go tumbling to my death, my neck breaking as I landed on the floor below.

I was too right after I beat NMH2, but its starting to show more now... I don't know how Wii can earn a place in my heart now even with good later releases...
nobody is like that in mine. I just sold everyone off to be a sex slave. Made the most money off the Krogan.
That Krogan cost me my life savings. Was worth it though.

Was there ever a Simpsons episode about an evil christmas tree? Or was that a different show? If anyone knows what I'm talking about PLEASE help me.
