I'm looking for the cheapest price on the Thundercats boxed sets.

Preferably using some coupon for Best Buy, since I have some gift cards there. But paying $50-55 each for them is way too much for my taste. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Also, where can I get the individual 25th anniversary GI Joe figures at a decent price? I'd be willing to pay up to $10 each for them, but this $15-25 each for some of the more in demand figures is ridiculous.

I'd much rather just buy the entire wave 1 and wave 2 sets for a reasonable set price, but they seem to be out of stock everywhere.

Unfortunately, that may be the best your gonna do unless you catch another sale. Amazon had em last year sometime during winter holidays 2/$50, which is when I finally took the plunge on the last season. I paid full price for first season, as I noticed they began disappearing @ Best Buy and didn't wanna get burned by EB/Amazon Mkt in the future;)

If I had to make the choice right now again, I'd say get them now while you can. Sounds to me like your interested, and no need of regrets later once they go OOP. If anything I have learned from 2001-present, is that waiting for a cheaper price can sometimes kill you with the after-market mark-up, once it's off the shelf! I missed the Rhino G1 Transformers, G.I. Joe, etc thinking I could just wait for a drop and saw them disappear week by week slowly at places like Best Buy, CC, Fry's and today I am without them as a result. Bottom line, if you want them, get them, even if you have to pay retail.....better than the other option I say!

Probably not what you're looking for but try and check the used DVDs at EB/GS. I'm guessing your's are a complete mess just like mine are but I actually found a few good box sets there- especially combing them with the B2G1F sales (though not sure if they run those anymore).

About a year back, I picked up Thundercats Season 1 Part 1 ($20), Spider Man The Complete 67 Animated Series ($25 or $35), and got Family Guy Vol 3 for free (marked $20- I traded it away though). The GS also had the entire TF run (all for $20) but when I heard a lot of people said it would be remastered and released... so I didn't pick it up. God, I wish I had. I could've at least resold for like $50 each back then.

They still have a few good box sets from time to time... they're not always pretty but usually in good shape.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I'll probably just bite the bullet on these. I've checked a lot of Gamestops, but around here the used stuff especially the DVDs are trashed.

I'm so glad I pulled the trigger on the TFs as they came out, I've got the entire Rhino set, and only missing Season 2 Part 1 for GI Joe.

Same with Voltron and Robotech, I pulled the trigger on those as they came out (though there have been a bunch of Robotech remasters and boxed sets).

Gotta find these GI Joe 25th anniversary figs...only found the 2 'rarer' 2-packs today at a TRU - Snakes Eyes/Storm Shadow and Duke/Cobra Commander.

Wasn't deepdiscount running a half-off sale on Thundercats last week? It may still be going on.

The GI Joe figures are still available at Walmart ($4.88) and Target ($5.99, I believe). Although it is tough finding some of them. I finally found a Destro at a Target the other day. I think the only one I haven't seen, which I still want, is Snake eyes. I had to settle for getting the two pack with Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow.

I just saw the 5 packs at a TRU the other day. So if you have one of those it might be worth a call or stop.

I am jealous you have the GI Joe seasons. I want to watch them again, but they are going for quite a bit these days...

NICE. Ordering the seasons now.

Oh yeah I got all 3 of the figure 5 packs (GI Joe, Cobra, Cobra Legions), those are awesome. I wouldn't mind just being able to order a full carton of the figs somewhere at a decent price.

Which ones are you looking for that you can't find?
Which ones are you looking for that you can't find?
Looking for both of the Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Beach Head, Duke, Firefly, Zartan, Destro...pretty much everybody except for Serpentor, Stalker, Roadblock, and Buzzsaw.

For the two packs, I have the Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow, Duke/Cobra Commander, and Scarlett/Hawk...so any of the newer ones I guess?

And thanks again guys for posting the DDDVD price for Thundercats!!!

Everybody in my house is collecting these right now and so far we have: Storm Shadow x2, Snake Eyes, Beach Head x2, Flint x2, Sgt Stalker, Zartan, and Snow Job (I'm not sure which two-packs we have). I'm looking for figures in Wave 7 right now... but I've been making rounds all across Dayton for the past few weeks. These things are being eaten off of shelves and I regret not picking up a lot of the figures I had found in the past.

Anyway, although these aren't up for trade at the moment I have a good source where I can buy pretty much any figure (minus Firefly) ranging from 12 to 6 dollars. I haven't seen a single of Duke yet but I'm pretty sure I could pick up a Scarlett or Storm Shadow.

Just PM me. I'm low on cash right now but I'd still be willing to help a fellow CAG in need.

Nice. Thanks uglyteradon. Here are the only ones I'm missing:

Snake Eyes with Timber
Storm Shadow (Wave 1...GI joe version - white with grey bars outfit)
Flint
Firefly
hey I thought you said you found all of them at some comic book store :whistle2:k
Nah, almost all of them. I thought I had them all, but then I found out there were a few issued last year that I didn't know about. Just the 4 singles of Snake Eyes with Timber (the wolf), Storm Shadow GI Joe version with the white outfit that has grey bars on it, Flint, and Firefly. No one has those.

I just bought another 8 figs at WalMart this morning - Storm Shadow Cobra version, Duke, Cobra Commander with shiny helmet, Roadblock, GungHo, Scarlett, Destro original version, and Cobra Air Trooper. I already had all of those but like to have an extra of each. And now Walmart raised the damn price from 4.99 to 6.84, damn...

BTW the WalMart had WiiPlays in stock again for $25 - 9 of them as of 9 am this morning.

I wish I would have known in advance that Flint was going to be so hard to find in the future, because now he is so rare (although I haven't even seen a Firefly yet). I guarantee I can find another Snake Eyes with Timber and Storm Shadow, in fact I found a Snake Eyes the other day but his box was ruined and they had slapped security stickers on every figure there.

I'll keep an eye out for you, figures are going for about 7.32 after tax over in this area now.

I don't think I've ever seen a Flint or Snake Eyes with Timber. There seemed to be a restocking of these after Xmas, but the supply seems to have run dry. I usually only see one or two figures at Target or Wal-mart now.

I wish I knew others were having a hard time finding these. I used to see a few Fireflys and tons of Storm Shadows.

I originally thought of only getting the figures I liked, or the ones that looked cool. I ended up getting most of the Cobra's, and most of the notable Joes. I'm rethinking this and might try to get them all. It sucks that Wal-Mart now charges close to 7 or 8 bucks, can't remember which one. Here are the ones I don't have, from most recent, according to the back of the package (the most recent I have is Lt. Torpedo); SSGT. Rock 'N Roll, Gung-Ho, Roadblock, SGT. Flash, Snow Job, Shipwreck, SGT. Stalker, Buzzer, Storm Shadow, Flint. I was late to collecting this last batch, so I missed out on Storm Shadow (G.I. Joe version) I think I've seen all the other ones, and have passed on them. I just got the Snake Eyes with Timber the other week at a Wal-Mart. I was very surprised to see it. I also got the 5 packs that are Toys 'R Us exclusives; Snake Eyes vs Red Ninjas and Cobra Night Watch. I also have 5 of the 5 packs, one of each, includes both molds of the G.I. Joe and Cobra packs and one of the Cobra Legions.

That's what I was thinking as well. I told my wife she could get me storm shadow as an Xmas stocking stuffer...she did...now I have quite a few. Stupid childhood nostaglia.

Anyone know a cheap alternative to Ebay for obtaining the old cartoons?

I saw some vehicles for the first time today at target. One was a jeep and the other was a sub or enclosed flying one. Both were $9.99.

If anyone comes across an extra Snake Eyes w/ Timber please hook me up :). I will be happy to look for some that others are having a hard time finding.

I picked up a Rock N' Roll and a Cobra Commander with Battle Armor the other day at Target, but didn't see anything but 'Cobra The Enemy' from the first wave. My set is up to 13 figures and one of the vehicles and it's becoming more unlikely that I'll be selling any at this point... at this point I'm trying to find figures for one of my roomies while keeping my eyes open for any requests on CAG. I have classes in the morning so I can't wait outside with the other guys but at least they leave behind a few figures now and again.

Nostalgic factor is just to great!
I have classes in the morning so I can't wait outside with the other guys but at least they leave behind a few figures now and again.
Wait...what? People are lining up for these?
How many of comic 2-packs have been released so far? I think I've seen 5-6 different ones at this point.
I think I have all that have been released. Here are the ones I have

-Dreaknok Torch & Dreadnok Ripper
-Scarlett & GI Joe Hawk
-Capt. Ace & Wild Weasel
-Destro & CPL. Breaker
-Snake Eyes & Storm Shadow
-Duke & Cobra Commander
-Snake Eyes & Storm Shadow (w/ battle damage)
-Tomax & Xamot
-Crimson Guard & Scarred Cobra Officer

I gotta go to Target and get the 3 vehicles. I didn't know those had been released yet. I also gotta try to get to Toys R Us and see if they have the Senior Ranking Officers; (Crimson Guard Trooper, Crimson Guard Officer, Cobra Commander), (Duke, Hawk, Grunt), and (Cobra Officer, Cobra Trooper, Cobra Commander).

another quick question, anyone plan on mailing off for Doc? I would, but I don't want to open any of my comic packs, and the proof of purchase is inside. I didn't send for the Storm Shadow Un-masked version a year or two ago for the same reason.

Picked up the 3 Target vehicles (bought 6 total). Just an FYI: Doc is backordered, so it will be a while before he starts shipping again. You may still be able to get SS from the GI Joe collector's club.

I was thinking of buying these for my son who's not even a year yet (just keep them in storage for a few years, but get them while they're out now). However, I saw that the plastic's not that good of quality with them. Are these playable figures for a kid, or more of a display only?
How many of comic 2-packs have been released so far? I think I've seen 5-6 different ones at this point.
I think I have them all:

Hawk and Scarlett
Destro and Breaker
Duke and Cobra Commander
Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow 1
Snake Eyes (battle damaged) and Storm Shadow (red hood) 2
Torch and Ripper (Dreadnocks)
Ace and Wild Weasel
Tomax and Xamot
Fred 7 and Scarface (Crimson Guard and scarred Cobra trooper)

I also got the AWE Striker with Crankcase and the Sea Shark or Sky Shark (the old SHARK painted black) with Grand Slam or whatever his name is. No love on the HISS tank, I'm sure that will be the hot one. But I must have like 5 or 6 original HISS tanks by now anyway. Yeah, the plastic is cheap, these are more for collecting than play IMO.

And I'm still looking for the 4 figs I listed, definitely down to trade for them, as I have multiples of pretty much everybody else or can easily get them. Again, looking for Flint, Storm Shadow (GI Joe version), Snake Eyes and Wolf Timber, and Firefly.

One, don't "invest" in these figures the way you can with the vintage figures.....remember today everyone buys to "keep them sealed", in 1983, nobody bought them to keep them sealed.

Two, pre-order them from online toy stores like Entertainment Earth, Big Bad Toy Store, etc. I'd say trying smalljoes.com as well but frankly I don't really like the way they scalp up their prices, and I've had stuff sent to me by them that arrives in beat up boxes.

The key on these figures is to pre-order them, since they don't always turn up in stores in any kind of quantity.

Also: There are Toys R Us exclusives available which include the new Snake Eyes vs. red Ninjas (the repainted original StormShadow sculpt) and CObra NIght Watch.

Yeah it's definitely not something I'm using as an investment vehicle, I agree with you particularly in regards to everyone being a collector now as opposed to the 80's and earlier.

I've got the 2 Toys R Us 5 packs you mention, there are also two more apparently - Firefly versus the Greenshirts, and a Crimson Guard 5 pack. Haven't seen those yet.

Nor have I seen any 3 packs since a couple of years ago.

The Firefly and CG 5 packs aren't out yet I don't think, look for those later in the summer as they normally dont release them all at once. I had them all up for pre-order along with the TRU 3 packs, but then I saw how much I was spending and decided "ya know, I'm not 12 anymore" :D so I backed off on most of my orders. While cool, they are basically the same figures from the 80's only re-tooled a bit....sometimes for the better but sometimes not.

I'm not sold on the anime-ish proportions, but their detailing does make the guys from the 80's look a little oldschool :)

Still, its great to have them back on the shelves and "reasonably" attainable if you know where to look and how to shop. I see there is a BAT out there now that I seem to have completely missed. There is a Rattler due out soon too.

Also check hasbrotoyshop.com online.

Big Bad Toystore is awesome; i've ordered almost every 25th Anniversary figure from them so far, because they are impossible to find in my city (and when Walmart does have one or two figures, they're in some crappy generic box without a file card printed on the back!)

it's getting to be an expensive collection, though, and i'm kind of tired of buying Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow over and over in various box sets. Wave 9 will be it for me in June.

The bat will be filtering into stores soon. There is also a rumored collector set with Zartan and the Dreadnocks that plays the song "Cold Slither" (sounds like alice cooper) from the cartoon.

Picked up some more HISS tanks today and the empty case to start storing these things in. I have an extra firefly (my brother put his extra on ebay. I really wish I didn't return that one with the bad card :wall:), but the only guys I want are the convention eclusives.

Just so you guys know Hasbro increased their wholesale price 25% because of the cost of plastic, so these may be going up in price at all the big box stores. Wal-mart raised them from 4.88 to 6.84 each.

I just wanted to chime in and say I think these figures are fantastic. I only have four (Cobra Commander-Helmet, Duke, Scarlett, Lady Jaye) but I'd buy up every one I could if budget allowed. I would love to get a Flint, but I've never seen one on the shelf, and I'm still kicking myself for not snapping up Zartan when I had the chance. I see most of the other notables from time to time, and you can always get a Dreadnok, Shipwreck, or Hooded Cobra Commander if the mood strikes.

I did pass on the Gold Destro. I think it looked silly. Is that a new thing, or were those around back in the day?

That is the IRON grenadier destro..I think it came out in 1988 with the despoiler.

It's hard for me to get past the eraser-type heads. I like the "old" hard plastic slightly shiney heads.

I think I've gotten all the single-packed ones so far except for the three newest I've seen in stores: Torpedo, Rock-n-Roll, and Battle Armor Cobra Commander. Well, I'm not rebuying the ones that were in the 5 packs and I haven't found a variant Stalker yet, but I do have the variant Snake Eyes.

For some reason, the two-packs have never done much for me, but I'll get the Shipwreck one that's coming out.

Where are you folks seeing the new comic two-packs? Specifically, I'm looking for the three newest ones with the Larry Hama comics (21b, 32.5, and 36.5, I believe)

I believe the figures included with those are:
Snake Eyes (battle damaged) and Storm Shadow (red hood) 2
Ace and Wild Weasel
Tomax and Xamot

I've been keeping an eye on various Targets and one Wal-Mart, but I've only seen them in a local comic/record store so far, marked up to $14. Maybe that's not too bad a price, though?

K-Mart, Wal-Mart, and Target always seem to have some around me. Every Snake Eyes I find in those packs looks messed up to me, but I guess they are all that way. Some area on his right forearm just looks bad, like the plastic didn't mold correctly or something. Must have been a bad mold. That, and the awful colored accessories for Storm Shadow in that pack have kept me passing on by.
That, and the awful colored accessories for Storm Shadow in that pack have kept me passing on by.
But... but... it's the sequel to Silent Interlude! Must have!

Thanks for the tips, though. K-Marts are scarce around here, but maybe I can get lucky.
Yeah, the plastic is cheap, these are more for collecting than play IMO.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking, so maybe I'll pass if there's a good chance that my son might break them all relatively quickly. Too bad they didn't use the original molds.

i've got the 25th Anniversary re-mold Snake Eyes standing next to my 1980's version of the same figure (with Timber). it's funny that his ass looks so much bigger on the old one. like he's wearing a man-diaper or something.

Awww CRAP...theres $25 I'll be out for sure :)

A BAND OF VIPERS...PLAYIN OUR TUNE... :p

I had Joe in the 80's, even tho I was a teen I never gave up the habit of picking up a guy here or there.....then bought a bunch up in the early 90's before they got really pricy..like when a Loose complete Baroness might set you back $10 bucks "TEN BUCKS!?!! Highway Robbery!"...

I want the Ram/Bubble combo...but I'll probably pass on the other vehicles.

found a Storm Shadow (G.I. Joe version) and the Senior Ranking Officers 3 of 3 version at a Toys R Us. Very surprised to find SS, and wished they had the other 2 SRO packs.

Target has raised the price for figures to 6.84 (or something like that) each nationwide, not sure if it has gone through every store yet. WM already made the jump. Kmart and TRu are still 5.99, but will probably go up soon.

Yeah, I've noticed the increases as well. To me they used to be impulse buys for $5 bucks at Walmart, but now at close to $7 I am not so tempted.
