GOG Deals Thread

It's funny how some games take forever to sell at one time, then the next time they come up, they fly off the shelves. And occasionally you get the reverse happening, too.

EDIT: Rogue Legacy $4.99 (750)

I still don't understand how 25 copies of Jack Keane 2 vanished in minutes when 100 copies took nearly 5 hours.

Syberia (600)

This really should be selling far slower than it currently is... I guess the 80% off label is tricking people into thinking that it's a good deal.

Wait, are you saying that's not a good deal? I'm not a huge fan of Adventure games, but as I understand it, Syberia a fairly well regarded game in that genre. And it's 80% off. If that doesn't qualify as a good deal, what does?

I just received this via PM, so as per their request:

Hey, I just signed up to thank you guys for updating the Insomnia sale with what goes by, only to find out I'm not allowed to post in that thread. So if you could post my gratitude for me, I'd appreciate it. Or double appreciate it, I guess...

If I can't have at least one of these before work in 2 1/2 hours, I'll punch one of these cats in the face.

Any thoughts on Total Annihilation: Commander Pack? I keep passing on this one and then think I should have bought it.

Played the crap out of it on it's time. One of the best RTS you can get. I don't know if you will stand the graphics, but this one and supreme commander are on my top list

You do realize that it didn't come with a GOG key, right?
Yes, but that doesn't mean much to me... or to many others, for that matter. I would much rather a ~$0.33 Steam key than a $2 GOG copy (and vice versa.)

Even if it did, that doesn't invalidate the sale. 80% off a good game is a good deal. I don't even like those type of games and I can acknowledge that.
Perhaps I should have used "great" instead of "good". Regardless, I usually decide how good a deal is based upon past deals on the same item... and once a game has been discounted that heavily - or to a similar level - multiple times, I no longer consider 3-6x the price to be a particularly good deal.

I suspect GOG is much like Steam when it comes to people buying only from certain online platforms/retailers. If you check the GOG forum.. there's a LOT of people that only buy from GOG. This is probably why some of these indie games sell out so fast.

One Unit Whole Blood $1.49 isn't on that list.

I'm surprised by how slowly this one is moving... you'd think more people would be willing to throw themselves at $3.29. But on the bright side, I've got my shave and shower in well before work.

No. I have it backlogged on GOG.

Here's a sad statistic for you: Games owned on GOG: 77, Games played on GOG: 0.

Dude...

80 here. But I played 2 or 3.

Space Colony HD was free for a nanosecond.
Probably all claimed by the Borg Collective then.

143 and 2
Well, that makes me feel a little better. . . .

Bored so cross-posting from PSN thread: CoJ: Gunslinger is a weekly at $3.75 so I downloaded the demo last night and played for about 45 minutes. Man do I suck at PS3 shooters; I must have died an average of once every 90 seconds. Instead of spending leftover birthday PSN credit on this I guess I'll have to wait for a nice 75% off Steam sale and wrap myself in the warm embrace of keyboard-and-mouse controls.

When considering games played from our GOG libraries, we're only counting it if we've played the GOG copy, right? Because I have 110 games, but I've only played 4 of them since buying on GOG. If we include plays from years past, it's up around 50.

Yes. Only GOG copies count. If you're buying copies of GOG games you ALREADY played back in the day, instead of ones you missed out on, well, you're just doing it wrong (unless they're giveaways or you snagged them for extras like soundtracks). :hot:

EDIT: RIP Megabyte Punch. No one will miss you. :fridge:

EDIT 2: Okay, I have about 10 games in my GOG library that I played before but only one or two of those did I actually play to completion the first time around (Fallout and Fallout 2).
