Edit (shipwreck): I went ahead and merged all of the Gran Turismo 4 and God Of War threads as it looks like they have had a universal price drop to $19.99 at multiple stores (Best Buy, GameCrazy, GameStop, EBGames, etc.).

Pre-played version is going for $29.99 & most places still have it at $49.99 NEW, that I've checked..haven't checked many.

Circuit City is still selling it for $49.99. Buy GT4 or GoW from CircuitCity then 110% price match BestBuy to get it for $16.99 ? ^_^

When and who canned it? Yes Sony did not admit it's in the works because they want to sell a bunch of GT4 for $19.99 That doesnt' mean it's been canned.

Gran Turismo 4 Online Edition is due out in Q2 2006 and will include six-player online play along with worldwide server rankings and replay upload options.

That’s been leaked to us as part of a bundle of marketing documentation, which Sony has yet to comment on.

GT4 Online Edition will include 700 real cars (from classic to ultra-modern supercars), 50 real tracks, and split-screen options in addition to six-player online racing.

There’ll also be voice communication support to chat with other drivers and customisable online competitions.

The docs also point to what’s described as a huge single-player challenge, despite the game’s obvious multiplayer leanings, with B-Spec and Photo modes making it over intact from GT4.

We’d expect to hear more about GT4 Online Edition in the very near future

As in, it's been canceled. Or delayed. Or called GT5. You can give all the quotes and links you want, but I'll believe it when it's in my hands. I'd rather them just wait and launch GT5 with online when the PS3 hits the shelves.

Yeah, I knew I had recently read an update on this... I'm gonna hold off and wait for the online edition and go ahead and pick up GoW for now.
 
Crap, I tried a second BB today and still couldn't find any Gamer Gift Cards . . . fuck

I could have gotten one at EB (have a $10 rebate cert.) but they only had gutted copies . . .
 
god damn it when will there be a drop on the wheel, i want the wheel! they shoulda given discounts to ppl who bought the game!
 
saw the GoW price drop in-person today at gamestop, noticed a used copy was selling for $14.99. huh? i immediately called BB to verify. (cause i was still waiting for the GameCrazy 3/3 drop)

swung by BB 5 minutes later, and got GoW for FREE!! ($19.99 - $5 GGC - $15 RZ certificates)

didn't know about the GT4 price drop though, will have to check that out later.

Sorry to confuse.

I had an Xmas present of 5 GGC coupons w/$5 GC's sent to me, and I used one of each on GoW & GT4.

$19.99 - $5 GGC coupon - $5 GC = $9.99

I hope that explains it.

Also when I was at the BB I picked 'em up at, GoW and GT4 were both shelf-tagged @ $49.99.
 
I picked up GOW last night at Gamestop. The guy who rang me up didn't even know about the pricedrop. The look on his face when it rang up was priceless!
 
I finally picked one up of GoW last night, along with Devil May Cry 3 SE and Counter Strike for the box. I noticed when I got my copy of GoW that it wasn't totally a red label version, it just had the GH sticker on the wrapper. Guess they've yet to print out the red label one and ship it...
 
AWESOME, Op -- figured there would be a price drop when I saw that Game Crazy thread (I mean, when is Game Crazy really cheaper on games like that than everyone else?).

Picked up GoW for $15 yesterday using a GGC. Noticed all the signage at BBY still read $49.99, so there were a LOT of copies still left. Glad I got in though before Sony puts that ugly GH packaging on it.

Please pardon my ignorance but does the Best Buy $5 off $19.99 game GGC still exist? The BB's that I go to in Minneapolis, MN only carry the $5 off $29.99 game GGC. Strange.

Yes I just picked up 2 GGC with the 19.99 coupon and got GOW for $14.99

The new cards are blue and say GAMES on the front.

While I can understand that GT5 will be coming to the PS3, it would make sense to release another GT 4 online on the PS2, there are 100 Million systems made so they are sure to sell many millions of the game. While the PS3 will be lucky to have 1 million systems sold this year. Let alone 1 million copies of a game for the PS3.
 
Bout damn time for me to get GOW. I've been lucky enough to score GT4 for $20 brand new when it first came out. Nice looking game, just not my type of racer.

Yeah, the new Gamer gift cards all have that $5 off $19.99 coupon on them. I don't think it's a YMMV so you should be able to find them.

I did notice that at my BBY that all the gift cards were now at the front -- so you may need to look for where all of them are. It doesn't seem like they're put by the games anymore.

fuck fuck fuck . . . last year I didn't care about these (but my store had them) because I had tons of EB credit. Now that I want to buy $20 games for $15 at BB I can't find any.

I've tried two stores . . . I don't get around much but will have to check others.

DAMN YOU ALL!!! :twisted: I rushed to the NOHO store after work with 10% off coupon in hand and just as I get there, the guy in the aisle says someone just bought the last copy 10 minutes ago. :cry: Oh well, I guess Queens it is. I'm stupid, I thought about buying the game online and opting for pickup, then going to the store and rebuying the game with the coupon. BUUUUUUUT, like a moron, I trusted that maybe there will be a copy left when I go after work. Oh well, wasted trip in horrible weather, this game better be worth the $19. :wall:
 
Pretty nice to see GoW at $20. Does anyone have a link to the 10% off BB coupon? I have yet to see a GGC at any of the BBs near me so I'll just use this coupon. Thanks.

Damn, this game is literally oos everywhere in Buffalo EXCEPT the local Best Buy, I'm making a last ditch effort to nab it over there.
 
I broke down and bought one at my local EB (where I owe them business for past transgressions :)

Stupid gutted copy (at least its not GH branded) plus I had a $10 voucher that I had been meaning to use.
