Green Man Gaming (Steam) Deals: 25% Off Hitman

I got two Sniper Elite DLCs for $0.49 but they yanked my last $2.00 credit away from me it looks like. How rude :whistle2:x

I'm turning my taking advantage of the GMG system knob up to 11! ;)

I have a retail disc for Worms 4 (Starforce included...) and it sucked compared to 2 / Armageddon / WWP. That said, I didn't give it much of a chance, and UM is supposed to be an improved version of 3D + Mayhem.
Well, for $1.74 (after $2 credit back), I'll give Ultimate a try.

I just noticed that they've removed the credit from Sniper Elite 1 after I'd added it to my cart. Now I have to wait ~10 minutes for my cart to time out (I'm not going to pay $3 for it) because their cart system doesn't seem to have any way to remove items. :dunce:

Alternatively, it seems you can proceed to the payment information section and click cancel at the bottom left in order to empty your cart. I really have no idea how there isn't a remove item from cart option implemented on the site.

Almost as mind-blowing as Amazon not having a cart system for digital games... at all.

Anyone who has any experience with using SweetFX on obscure games have any idea why it isn't working with Worms Ultimate Mayhem? Trying to use the SMAA injector here to pretty up the game, and I've tried disabling in game AA every way I can, but SweetFX just isn't affecting the game.

It's not that important, the game looks fine enough, but it's a nice upgrade. Any ideas why it isn't taking?

Check the .log file.

SweetFX does not do magic
  • Wrong directory
Make sure you’ve selected the right directory. Some games need to have it put in a subfolder (usually bin or bin32)
  • If SweetFX loads, there should be a log.log file in the game’s directory.

[*]Antialiasing
  • Some games use a postprocessor step for antialiasing, and this can overwrite SweetFX’s changes to the image.
  • Try turning off ingame antialiasing. SweetFX have a SMAA filter that can compensate (sometimes even better than the original, and with less overhead)

[*]Not supported title
  • Some games are just plain out not supported. Games using OpenGL or old DirectX versions are not supported, and a few games are not injectable at all.

[*]64bit games
  • The injector only support 32bit programs. Run the 32bit version of the game

That doesn't seem to work: the cart is persistent across sessions. I tried using a different browser (which wasn't logged into GMG, and had cookies/cache wiped since I last browsed using it) and it showed the same cart after I logged in.

When I added the games again after the cart timed out, I noticed that you can remove items from your "basket" - so long as you haven't proceeded to the checkout.

Weird. It worked for me several hours ago. I had items in my cart I didn't want but was too far into checkout to remove them. I opened up Chrome incognito window, logged in, and bought my Snjaper 3lite v1 & v2-dlc.

Maybe Steam will sell it by itself at some point... I got it as a preorder bonus with Revolution (which is the second best PC worms game, but is still a bunch of fluff packed with a crappy engine). I'm not sure how you can get Armageddon otherwise.

It's available to everyone on Steam now for $14.99. The preorder exclusivity was withdrawn on March 20th, 2013.

Also, people still play Worms Armageddon multiplayer. I don't think the same can be said of the newer games...
The problem with that is the servers seem to be packed with 10th+ year pro-players who don't tolerate rookies.

That is weird. I made it to the checkout using Firefox, and when I logged in using Chrome it showed 3 items in my cart and gave me an error along the lines of "you have already started payment, click here to resume" when I tried to edit my cart (in Chrome.) :???:

Hahaha at the #10 image.  I'm sure they're on to "us" (I assume the same thing is being posted to Reddit, etc) and want to keep things a surprise so there's some measure of excitement and people checking in regularly.

Back to a 10% voucher for this set:

GMG10-JMGEO-LCM0U

Also, some more background images popped up. Keep in mind, while these have mostly been accurate there has been a couple of changes in the past

Sale 9

And Sale 10:

Looks like they may be onto us. Either that, or sale 10 is awesome and they don't want to spoil the surprise.
Crap, crap, crap! I'm glad DmC is only 50(60)% off or I'd be considering depositing a portion of my gas money for the first half of the month into my bank account. Gave it a try last night and was pleasantly surprised I could run it on Ultra (wtf?!) on my 6 year old beast of a laptop. That hasn't happened since...well, I can't even run Crysis on full.

Edit: Hell, that means I've already spent... aww, hell. Wife is gonna murder me. Oh well, can't win 'em all.

If I were them I'd post an obvious troll. Skyrim Legendary 80% off, Far Cry 3 80% off, Tomb Raider 90% off, etc. just to see the reactions

There's a tiny grey "remove" text link under the item when you go to your item basket. It's difficult to spot.

The site is giving me trouble again but it looks like the XCOM sale originally thought to be in sale 5 is in sale 9, starting now. $12.99 plus an extra 20% voucher

Stellar Impact for free and XCOM replaced Hitman and Reus

Locked myself into mortal battle with the GMG checkout servers and emerged data-splattered but victorious with my free copy of Stellar Impact.  Wonder why it's free -- seems weird.

They are getting a bit better at the images, sale 4 had an extra hyphen in the url, sale 5 had two underscores, and sale 9 has a B. They mix it up a bit to make things harder to find. Good on you, GMG

They did properly limit one per account this time :9
I'm OK with the limit one per account but the limit of two per Public IP address is a bit annoying.

GMG has a history of giving free games but usually they are capsule locked but occasionally not. Stellar Impact has been in BAB4 and the Indie Jam bundle so quite a few of us should already have it.

What's the chance Euro Truck Simulator 2 is on sale cheaper when the Steam sale starts?

The price on GMG is 30 but the Steam price is normally 40.

GMG was having trouble because the sale surpassed 3 times their expectations and the site went down several times. Now they decided to GIFT a steam game during the sale. Not very clever if you ask me

I think that might be why they moved it and XCOM from sale 5 to sale 9. They knew they couldn't handle it, probably made some changes (added servers, etc) thought they would be able to handle it and added it back in. Their deals with those companies might have a time limit as well, so they might have not had a choice

I actually wanted to buy that XCOM pack. Site's probably gonna take hours to get back up & running. The deal will probably be over by then. :whistle2:|

Oh snap, I didn't notice the 20% off coupon. Disregard my previous whining about DmC's lack of ideal discount. Now, if only the servers would behave long enough for me to complete a transaction...

Wow, they are getting hammered.  I tried to pick up a free copy of Stellar Impact.  After 5 minutes of loading errors, I managed to get it into my cart and start the checkout process... I got all the way to the address stage before I got timed out for 15 minutes of having the item in my cart without checking out... 14 of which were spent staring at error messages or loading screens.  I don't really care because it's a free game that I have minimal interest in, but I'd be very agitated if I were actually trying to buy something I wanted (like X-COM).

I love GMG, but what's the point of running sales if no one can actually use the site to buy what's on sale?

Site is up for me, but slow

If you want to skip a few pages the link to add XCOM to your cart is:

www.greenmangaming.com/s/us/en/pc/games/x-com-enemy-unknown-pack/buy/

Then you just have to make it through the checkout process

I give up on getting Stellar Impact. Site keeps crashing.

I'm going to take a nap and try again later. Hopefully one of two things will have happened: a) they 'fixed' the servers, or b) all hyperactive F5 clickers will have been satisfied/given up.

Props to Madjoki for the fast drop on information about Stellar Impact. I managed to grab it without any problems, not even knowing it was part of the sale. Had I known what I know now...

$20 DmC is a tempting, but I think I'll wait (even though it's Capcom 50%+20% base game)

Looks like some crapsule exclusive game.
