It's non-steam, for anyone interested..Gothic Complete Collection is 75% off ($6.24)

Good point. I hear the non-steam versions are actually more stable. It's non-steam, for anyone interested..
Who spreads this European socialist propaganda crap? The Steam versions work fine.Good point. I hear the non-steam versions are actually more stable.
I have no problem with Steam. I'm not trying to bash non-DRM. When trying to get my copy of Gothic 2 to run, I simply came across several posts stating that the Steam version is a bit trickier to get running smoothly for some people. In some cases the Steam overlay causes some issues.Who spreads this European socialist propaganda crap? The Steam versions work fine.
If you have an issue with them then go check the forums and oh look someone probably has a solution.
Really tired of hearing this shit about every old game under the sun that's on Steam. 'Oh I heard from my sister's neighbor's cousin's dog walker's German Aunt that the Steam version has problems but the GOG version will make you rich and famous'.
I have 2,000+ games on Steam including a lot of really old ass shit and I've at least run most of them at least once to make sure they run. I've found a few games here and there that might have some problem but then I run in XP compatibility mode or check the forum and find a quick fix and done.
There's been exactly one game I couldn't get to run at all on 64bit Windows and that's Doom Rails, which isn't a classic game, not on GOG or Greenman and I wouldn't even know where the hell you could buy a non Steam version (which wouldn't help anyway) at all.
Oh yes, definitely. I have a ton of games that have been bundled on Steam through GOG or other places because they're not stable on Steam, sometimes because the dev doesn't really give a damn about making them run right there. Some Steam do run like garbage even with fixes cause they're too old, or just have conflicts. I know the Commando's collection (At least the first....maybe the sequels) run horribly. I got it to display correctly but I could never get the timing one right so my game ran like crazy. Was too much work and by the time I ended up fiddling with it for an hour I gave up.
I do hope all Gothics work on all platforms as they are unique and interesting games, though I did play Gothic 3 when it was a buggy mess around release and need to go back to it.
The bummer of getting so many great games for super cheap on PC is the day when you have almost all of them. This "Games you must play" sale is great. I'm saving so much money.
My foray into Steam was 50 percent off all The Walking Dead episodes. 12.49! What a steal! (may have been 75 percent, Amazon Winter 2012)The bummer of getting so many great games for super cheap on PC is the day when you have almost all of them.
I remember the first heady days I had my PC. Fallout GOTY and Dead Island GOTY for $7.50 each BLEW MY MIND.
Me.There's also probably people with lame laptops with Intel HD video on practically every forum posting H@1p my gam dznt werk that people looking for 'evidence' to back up their perception use to cite.
I definitely see where you're coming from. I have times where I feel like DRM-free players are "Steam shaming" me. Heck, I was tempted to buy a separate GOG version of Sacred 2 today even though I already have a Steam copy, after seeing so many people overjoyed that it finally came to GOG.Seriously though every time someone goes on about how they heard some old game doesn't run on Steam I download it from Steam and in the majority of cases it just plays without issue or in some cases compatibility works or I look on the Steam forum and oh look quick easy fix, now it works fine.
I even regularly see people saying the GOG version works better than Steam for games where the version on Steam is literally the same one.
I feel like the whole world's gone crazy but me.
I think it's one of those things like 'Macs are better for art and music' or 'AMD drivers are bad'. It may have been true at one point in time but now people just keep perpetuating the outdated myth.

Sure, but even in those cases where the Steam version is literally the same, the GOG version runs better.I even regularly see people saying the GOG version works better than Steam for games where the version on Steam is literally the same one.
Usually I don't care, but there are a number of cases where the Steam version has issues. It all comes down to what matters more to you, A. Steam, and you're willing to spend time troubleshooting while setting up the game, or B. DRM-free or GOG, and you're willing to have the game on a "lesser" service so that you don't have to spend time getting the game running well.Seriously though every time someone goes on about how they heard some old game doesn't run on Steam I download it from Steam and in the majority of cases it just plays without issue or in some cases compatibility works or I look on the Steam forum and oh look quick easy fix, now it works fine.

What?!?!?Heck, I was tempted to buy a separate GOG version of Sacred 2 today even though I already have a Steam copy, after seeing so many people overjoyed that it finally came to GOG.
Meh, I own Sacred 2 Gold SecuROM+DRM-FREE from GG and Steam version from Humble Bundle. Besides this isn't both DRM-FREE and 75% off. What?!?!?
Sacred 2: Gold finally hit GOG??!?
{checks GOG}
Awesome @ Sacred 2 Gold finally hitting GOG.

I'm just glad it's on GOG - for those who love GOG + hate DRM.Meh, I own Sacred 2 Gold SecuROM+DRM-FREE from GG and Steam version from Humble Bundle. Besides this isn't both DRM-FREE and 75% off.
I already have it DRM-FREE, so I wouldn't actually mind also having a Steam-version to keep track of time-playing + any Steam-features if I could get it real cheap.Sacred 2 Gold on steam promotes child-killing CEG. Think of the children!
If you upgrade your RAM, you might be able to run THIS game, actually...Battlefield 4 will not run on my athlon xp 1800 and geforce 6200. I also have 256 mb of ram and 60 gb hdd wtf why won't this run plz help this pc cost 1000 dollars

They're probably console people who think 25% is hot shit.oh... today kids
If you are willing to wait just a couple months (or buy from a Russian trader now) you can get it cheaper. Generally, with PC game backlogs, its easier to wait. Maybe you don't have a backlog and don't want to buy from traders? So if you really love Dead Rising and are going to play right away, then its worth snakeybroing it.Or just a fan of Dead Rising since the beginning who only has a pc now and realizes 34 dollars for a full game plus all it's dlc sounds pretty good...or yeah, kid/console people, whatever. It's Cheap Ass Gamer, not 75% or more off gamer.
But he didn't snakeybro it because he paid 75% instead of full price. If you are willing to wait just a couple months (or buy from a Russian trader now) you can get it cheaper. No, he Solid Snake Eyes'ed it.But he didn't snakeybro it because he paid 75% instead of full price.
Oh man, some people still use consoles. Does that make you mad? Love Elitist people like you.I'm not sure in what interpretation of cheapass 25% applies.
And yeah, pretty much what I thought. Console refugee new to the PC who hasn't adjusted to PC game pricing and sales and where to get PC games cheaper and when. Plus there's probably the whole thing of not having 800 kallijion games and so probably will actually play it right away.
No, he Solid Snake Eyes'ed it.
Not really considering you guys are like 90% of this site and we're ghettoized to a few threads. I just think it's silly when you come to our threads and then apply console standards to how stuff works in our world, but there's always people willing to pay more, even on a site of so called cheapasses so go for it.Oh man, some people still use consoles. Yea okay beacuse I dont mainly PC game.. Stop generalizing everyone. Not really considering you guys are like 90% of this site and we're ghettoized to a few threads. Now if you want some real snark from PC people then you can always try the Steam thread.I think most of us don't pay much attention to Greenman anymore anyway beyond the whole Playfire stuff, which you probably have no clue about.
We generally enjoy saving money around here, not patting ourselves on the back for buying a game for $35 when it'll be $5 in a few months. Basically, publicizing your PC game buying missteps is only going to make people laugh. Perhaps you're new to buying PC games, so I'll just advise you to wait. It doesn't take long at all for PC games to get cheap. You wait, you save loads of money. There's a reason us PC regulars have Steam libraries between 1000 and 2000 games.Or just a fan of Dead Rising since the beginning who only has a pc now and realizes 34 dollars for a full game plus all it's dlc sounds pretty good...or yeah, kid/console people, whatever. Go back to your 10 game console backlog that you spent $600 + tax on to accumulate.Yea okay beacuse I dont mainly PC game.. Stop generalizing everyone.
Playfire stuff which I apparently know nothing about...AHAHA you make me laugh.
Sure there is. They asked for it by doing so then posting in a PC thread to boast they got 25% off launch-MSRP.Eh, if it's a game you really want and you plan to play it right away, I don't see the problem with paying a premium for it. We all have games we've paid extra for to be able to play them right away; there's no need to be demeaning toward someone for doing so.
