Generic March 20% off voucher on purchases over $10:  H799RH-7L8NPP-RCKKT8

Not valid on anything you would actually want to buy..
Unfortunately, that seems to be GMG's new voucher policy. I won't be making many purchases from them either now.Yeah... I want to buy something from the SEGA sale but if they don't add a normal voucher without you need to spend 10$ I will pass.
No, it's entirely accurate. I take that back. Respawn is the only studio capable of innovation in any game at all, be it multi or single player. They are probably the only studio capable of making innovative films, tv shows, medical treatments, and possibly spaceships, as well.So you're basically saying Respawn is the only studio capable of innovation in a MP game? That's rather narrow sighted don't you think?

wtf? what's wrong? why are you going to expire? do you have cancer? ??/?????What about this:

Of course this being a site with primarily a NA audience that doesn't do most of us any good, but still.
*Edit: Fixed their backwards Euro date system in the quote which made it seem like the voucher was good until July. I also expires at 1600 UTC today so in about 2.5 hrs.
No, they're not. Many studios could probably do something different - if publishers wanted something different. Or if dev's weren't just trying to copy what's hot; and maybe put some kind of spin + twist on it.So you're basically saying Respawn is the only studio capable of innovation in a MP game? I wasn't thrilled w/ the MP for CoD: Ghosts from Steam's recent Free Weekend. I didn't really care for the MP maps, except for really Stonehaven.Granted, Infinity Ward and Respawn are the probably the only studios who are focusing on competitive MP right now. In this day and age MP is something that every game has to tack on just because, and it's usually horrible.
I haven't heard much good about Ghosts. I'm installing it now (free weekend on Xbox Live for it), so we'll see. Titanfall, however, is hella innovative and extremely well done. They focused on making things new and fresh and they succeeded. Of course it's not everyone's bag of chips, but you can't ignore the amount of effort there.
Oh I'm not dismissing Titanfall/Respawn, since even as someone not normally into MP shooters it sounds pretty cool. My point was just that putting it/them on a pedestal as somehow our one savior for an innovative, competitive multiplayer shooter was a rather grand statement when there are other developers doing interesting things too. I suppose I'm basically just reading to much into way the original statement was worded, as it doesn't seem like that was how it was meant to come across as.Granted, Infinity Ward and Respawn are the probably the only studios who are focusing on competitive MP right now. What I'm trying to say is that to me, it would make sense that if someone was going to evolve/revolutionize MP shooters, it'd be AGAIN from many of the guys (Respawn w/ Titanfall) who did it last time (many w/ Infinity Ward for CoD: MW4).Oh I'm not dismissing Titanfall/Respawn, since even as someone not normally into MP shooters it sounds pretty cool. I like the way you dramatized this, makes it all the more shocking.Mainly - if I play L4D, it's gonna be online...with other players.
Hey, people are scaryI like the way you dramatized this, makes it all the more shocking.
I have a certain style in my voice, writing and tone. Took me years to kind of develop this kind of style of mine - especially since in my early years, I thought my writing style was...well - let me stop there! Okay, my old style was kind of straight-forward and...kind of boring.I like the way you dramatized this, makes it all the more shocking.
As often as I'm apathetic or completely disagree with MysterD's ramblings, I have to agree with him this time. You say "other developers" are "doing interesting things too". What developers? What games? We're talking about MP here.Oh I'm not dismissing Titanfall/Respawn, since even as someone not normally into MP shooters it sounds pretty cool. Honestly, as much as I didn't really like MW1 in general (just clunky), it did change the way FPS MP has been in just about every game since. Hell, even Halo (which was dominant in the FPS MP world) blatantly copied MW mechanics in Halo Reach. The Transformers game (War for Cybertron?) is basically CoD: Transformers. FPS MP has been massively inspired by and/or copycatting CoD games since MW1 hit shelves.
It's not that the CoD series is the only good FPS MP there is (I'd say Battlefield takes the same genre and makes it better), but there really hasn't been a revolutionary, innovative change to FPS MP since MW1. Infinity Ward has been in control of that for years, and no one really tries to challenge them, and if they have, they've failed. Respawn looks to be taking the reigns now, which is by relation, also Infinity Ward.
I'd love to see something new come about and knock IW and Respawn on their asses with something new (and something less arcadey and twitchy), but it hasn't happened in awhile. The most enjoyable, original competitive MP experience I've come since MW1/2 was in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. That was fun MP, totally original, and totally unique. Granted it hasn't bled into other games... because it's innately Assassin's Creed and would be very difficult to "inadvertently" copy, but besides that, I really can't think of another game in the past 5 years or so that has had NEW, INNOVATED, FUN competitive MP gameplay.
Oh (yawn) wha..? What are you talking about... Hold on. Lemme get some coffee so I can finish reading your post.I have a certain style in my voice, writing and tone. So, I use things like dashes, ellipsis, commas, semi-colons, and other things of that nature - all just to try give things here certain timings, sounds, effects, rhythms, and feels. Often, I use this all in a such a way that it looks and feels like these thoughts of mine are from a "stream of consciousness" kind of thing.
Which, yes - for the most part - that's how I think and write all this.
Speaking of which, Lost Planet used to have amazing MP too. Player controlled giant Akrid aliens vs player controlled humans. There hasn't been such a badass, teamwork based MP game mode since.TLDR
Lost Planet sucks
sounds like evolveSpeaking of which, Lost Planet used to have amazing MP too. Player controlled giant Akrid aliens vs player controlled humans. There hasn't been such a badass, teamwork based MP game mode since.
Human vs human combat was kinda shitty though. Close range? Roll, shoot, roll, shoot, roll, shoot...
While I've still been lazy and ain't touched any of the MP's for the AC games - I've seen it been compared to that of The Ship. Now, that (The Ship), I've actually played - and I did like it.As often as I'm apathetic or completely disagree with MysterD's ramblings, I have to agree with him this time. There's - kind of - a cadence to my writings, if you ain't yet...noticed.Oh (yawn) wha..? What are you talking about... Hold on. Lemme get some coffee so I can finish reading your post.
Admittedly, 90% of the time I read less than 50% of your post. Now, I'm not a mathematician or anything, but... Oh, look a video game! There's - kind of - a cadence to my writings, if you ain't yet...noticed.

If you've played The Ship - how would you compare The Ship's MP to the MP found in any of the AC's since Brotherhood? Similar? Major evolution? Or what?
I know, we should be talking about deals- oh wait, there are none.Oh this thread.
It's gone completely insane and I very much approve.
Um, that does not exist.I'm kind of a little pissed new 20% off of 10 or more code or whatever doesn't work with Demon Souls 2. I took a risk not getting it yesterday with the old code...bad move on my part, I hope they give something again though or I just wont buy it at launch...easy as that.
How does the "cash back" stuff work? Is it just a straight discount or does it get refunded later?Um, that does not exist.
And, DARK Souls 2 does allow for $10 cash back when you purchase it on GMG, so... same thing.
Hey now, if you dunno how AC MP works, you should. This is what I'm hearing in my head as I attempt to skim through this thread right now.

I always took the slightly greater GMG credit option when available.
I think, perhaps, he should just see an audiologist.Hey now, if you dunno how AC MP works, you should.
I pulled up their ToS page, and Ctrl+F'd "cash", but nothing came up, so I Googled "greenmangaming cash back" and got that page., I spent 10 minutes reading through their ToS looking for that. Thanks.
Like I said, it's not my thing so I don't follow them much at all, so most of what I'm talking about is just anecdotal. Off the top of my head some games that did/are doing cool stuff with MP: Evolve, Destiny, The Last of Us, Planetside 2, Mass Effect 3, PvZ Garden Warfare, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (which you mentioned), Metal Gear Online (from MGS4), even Red Dead Redemption's online was interesting for what it was (though co-op was certainly were the focus was).As often as I'm apathetic or completely disagree with MysterD's ramblings, I have to agree with him this time. Well, I have no idea about Destiny or Evolve since they're not out yet. Have there been betas?Like I said, it's not my thing so I don't follow them much at all, so most of what I'm talking about is just anecdotal. I'm not saying these shook up the MP formula like Titanfall is aiming to, but I still think they offered something unique and enjoyable, and had ideas worth borrowing for other games. But again this isn't the sort of game I play a lot of, so maybe I'm just talking crap and you and MysterD should be high-fiving each other for finally agreeing on something.
The single-game Genesis stuff requires Capsule, so avoid them like the plague.Sorry to interrupt the dissertation on multiplayer gaming with Greenmangaming deals, but most of the assorted retro/classic Sega stuff is on sale 75% off and then another 20% if you can swing $10 or more in your cart.
Basically all the Genesis emulator stuff plus the Dreamcast/Saturn HD re-releases.
Oh I hadn't realized that, you're right. But there's really no reason to buy most of them anyway since it's way cheaper in the packs. The single-game Genesis stuff requires Capsule, so avoid them like the plague.
The collections are Steam keys... so I think I'm finally gonna bite on those. It's not the $7.50 at Amazon I was hoping for, but...
The sucky thing is that the 5 classics packs are just under $10 so you can't use the voucher. You could if you were able to then add Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine but they have a 5 items per cart limit.![]()
Thanks, I'll just spend my money on other stuff and keep using my illegal roms.Oh I hadn't realized that, you're right. But there's really no reason to buy most of them anyway since it's way cheaper in the packs.
FWIW Doctor Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine by itself is a Steam key and that one is not in the packs. There are other Sonic games also not in the packs but those aren't on sale right now.

Really getting sick of their arbitrary BS limitations and exclusions lately.
This made me remember Splinter Cell: Pandora Tommorow's MP, Spies vs Mercs which I always thought sounded really cool (but unfortunately didn't have an XBL connection to play it on). Would love to see something similar to that make a revival, there aren't a whole lot of MP stealth games which I find disappointing.Oh geez, why'd you guys have to bring up Assassin's Creed MP. I got addicted to it for awhile because it was completely unique and pretty fun in fact. I found that I wasn't half bad at jabbing people in the back or emerging from a bushel of oddly placed hay. I agree with Idiotekque here and I give a lot of credit to Ubisoft for the direction they went with AC MP. I might have to get back into that... nope, nope, nope. The backlog says nope.![]()
That's just your fair regional pricingWhy they did a voucher that you need a certaint amount to activate? and it isn't fair when 10$ isn't 10€... Too bad because I want to buy some Sega games.
Europeans aren't going to understand free market capitalism, silly. That's just your fair regional pricing![]()
That's an oxymoron if I've ever seen one. That's just your fair regional pricing
I think the main reason you don't see that is because the US price is generally considered the baseline price.I never see Americans complaining about this even though pricing in other countries like Russia, Brazil, Mexico, India etc is far lower than the prices we pay. I guess we get that it's a different economy and don't feel, wait for it, entitled to the same pricing those countries get.
