I've done pretty well off Playfire. Here's the list so far:

Bioshock 2: Minerva's Den

Darkness II

Xcom: Bureau Declassified

The Banner Saga

Skyrim Legendary

Painkiller Black

Dead Space 2

Of course the 2k deals ended before I had enough credit for Bioshock 2, but that's goes on sale all the time anyway. I'm back up to $9.26 now.

The thing I like about playfire rewards is that it makes me play my backlog.
Yeah, replaying Psychonauts on PC made me sad that there isn't a sequel anytime soon. And while I'm wishing for sequels that probably will not come for a long time (if ever), Shenmue 3.

Sounds like if you don't use Sam you get banned
Which is what I was saying in our conversation earlier. Playfire isn't really on top of things, so if they do start trying to ban people once they aren't drowning in other problems, there's no telling whether they're going to ban correctly.

That guy got unbanned, but considering the slowness of Playfire support, and how often they just plain ignore people, the happy ending in that guy's case may not be the same across the board...

I don't really give a fuck about this argument but since you asked...

Its not piracy... Piracy involves not paying anyone for anything. aka developer/publisher/etc don't get anything but in this case they are as people are buying the game legitimately. Trust me, 2K or whomever, isn't going to not take their share because someone worked Playfire/GMG's system.
Okay, so that means not only are you stealing from GMG, but you're also taking money out of their pocket because they now have to pay the pub/dev for the game you just "bought legitimately" with exploited reward money that you got for free.

Explain to me again how that's not piracy? Or in fact worse than simple filesharing piracy with cracks?

Like I've said multiple times, I'm not crying over GMG losing profit because of this whole thing. But it's obvious that if all the SAMing persists, the reward system is going in the crapper sooner rather than later, which sucks, because it's actually a good idea and rather fun.

Except that it's cleared up for some people who were having issues and then screwed up for some who weren't like me and Neuro so...
True, but as they sort out more of the issues, you know they're likely to start putting more effort into bans.

I'm mad I wasn't quick on the 12.00 credit thing, but alas I am still happy with paying 17.00 for Dark Souls 2. I really do enjoy playfire rewards. Shame it won't last.

I already own RO2, so is Rising Storm's single player component any good? Does owning it add anything different to the multiplayer component from RO2?

I only got the "first time" on Arkham city (I had the vanilla version with some hours played, but the GOTY is another entry) but thanks to the rewards I tried the achievements and now I know why everybody liked AC a lot more than AA. That game is huge, there are a lot of things to do! Too bad I didn't have the time to keep trying for the achievements.

Also bought and tried They Bleed Pixels (by idiot recommendation). Is a hard game, but a good one. I'm really enjoying it.

Rising Storm is multi-player only. If you have RO2 you can play on some of the RS multi-player maps but you can only play as a Rifleman and you don't gain XP.

I'm about to do the AR Knight achievement on Arkham City. It seems fairly easy to get for 50p.

Some people in the playfire blog comments were saying the German Campaign and Stonewall achievements in RS aren't even actually obtainable. The rewards these last few days have been kinda weak in general, like they're not actually researching whether the achievements are actually achievable.

Or they're putting those up on purpose to see who's using SAM...

It looks like German Campaign is for Red Orchestra. Stonewall, not sure. It sounds like it's possible in MP.

Well, if anyone has Sleeping Dogs installed, you might as well go do the "Infowlable" achievement for a 50p reward. It's ridiculously easy, just drive to a cockfight event and bet 50,000 on one of the birds and win. You can probably just save and reload if you pick the wrong one and don't want to lose money.

Kind of a guilty reward. Poor roosters. :(

fuck roosters, one of the The Ball achievements asks you to crush 35 innocent monkeys.

pssst, it's easily obtainable on the game's 2nd level, where you can find 6 monkeys in a row, quit, and restart the level.

Ooooooh... Probably should have looked at the steam page before asking

Looks good, though. I might get it.

I would actually believe that if it seemed like they halfway knew what they were doing.
It's all beta they are paying people to do whatever they can right now to test their shit

Once this is out of beta the rewards will be for pennies.

Strike while the irons hot
Even if they did figure out how to track SAM usage, I'm sure some dingus would flip the wrong switch and only ban players whose 'chieves didn't pop all at once

There's actually a fair bit of cockfighting here in Hawaii. Except unlike in Sleeping Dogs, they usually tie razor blades to the roosters' talons to cause even more damage.

Pretty sick stuff.

I've never seen a cockfight that doesn't have the razor blades. It's how they get the birds to kill each other.

Nah, they do it without as well. Roosters can cause serious damage and kill each other with their spurs alone. I was just saying that because in Sleeping Dogs there don't seem to be any razor blades.

EDIT: They'll even kill each other WITHOUT spurs... Roosters are ridiculous.

I've never seen that, but I believe. A rooster pecked me once and made me bleed.

My local cousin had friends who had cockfighting roosters. Just screwing around with their dad's roosters (no razors) one of them slashed the other one's throat open and killed it. His dad was pissed.

More games I don't have. You're killing me here, Playfire.

Oh well. I do have Fez and...whichever other game are facing off and will inevitably go head to head tomorrow.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piracy_of_software

I think that will sum it up...

Simply put GMG is not the copyright holder of any of the games they sale...

Now, if you want to say people are stealing and the act is thief. Go for it.

But it sure as hell isn't fucking piracy...

So Playfire hasn't transferred my rewards for 2 days (yes, I've done the login/logout deal) now. I bet those sneaky bastards are just waiting for me to open a ticket. The fix is in boys, get out while you can. Those bastards won't take me alive.

So the other day I received credit for 6 rewards I was missing via support from the magical Thomas, which weren't tracked (including Monaco).

Then yesterday, my monaco achievements recorded to my account and I got money for them AGAIN.

You're why platform rewards will die!!!!

You dirty pirate!

I'm sick of this. I'm calling the FBI on all you pirates.

I'm going to tell them that you guys are cheating at video games, and getting credit for cheating. Then after you cheat you buy more games with your credit you earned by cheating.

The FBI hates cheaters.
This will be dealt with swiftly I'm sure.

The beginning of the end is here. The new Hobbit rewards go as low as .05 cents per achievement.
Although, if you add them all up quick math says one would get $5.60 in total.

I definitely don't think everyone prefers AC. Personally I enjoyed AA because it was a lot more focused and progression was more rewarding, but to each their own I suppose, both are great games.

I'm not saying I like AC more, I just can understand why a lot of people do. I think both are different. I love AA, that game is fantastic, I played it A LOT. And I'm liking AC too, at the same level, because the world is not as open as, say, GTA. You can go fooling around discovering stuff, but with certain limits. Is definitely not a sandbox

Yeah same here. AC is actually my least favorite Arkham game. AA is also my favorite followed by Origins. I liked the pacing better in those games.

Chalk me up for another AA > AC vote. Arkham City isn't bad since it's mostly just more of the same, but the pseudo-sandbox didn't really do enough to justify its existence, and the story is so utterly ridiculous I just can't take any aspect of it seriously.

You all are crazy.  I played and loved both AA and AC.  I can't really say I like one more than the other.  (Mind you I 100% collectable'd AA, and beat AC in NG+ and have most collectables.)  I'm not a Batman or comic book fan, so it's mostly gameplay (and the dribble of story)... the fanservice does nothing.

The fundamental truth is: AC is an easier game.

I also liked some of the more interesting environments of AC, such as the tower.

I agree with you mostly. What I did like better about AC is the combat. Everything seemed more fluid and there were more options.

Also, playing as Catwoman and Robin was tons of fun. They weren't radically different from Batman, but it did add some variety.

Finally, regarding the "open-world". The major plus of AC over AA is the ease of getting from one place to another. Think of the city as more of a hub to the minor levels than as one big sandbox. I found it to be tedious getting from one end of the AA game to another. Plus, any fan of Batman has got to at least see some appeal to flying about a city at night, dropping from rooftops into a crowd of thugs.
