So... does that frog wear a cat suit? Did that frog's mother learn Spanish from a Rosetta Stone bootleg? Does it support widescreen displays?

Any CAGs participating in the Groupees Primal Fear Competition?  I think it's kind of a cool concept, although the scoring is a little buggy. It would be awesome if a CAG won 1st place and could "Curate their own Groupees Bundle".

I'm currently in 17th place magically. I've never played Primal Fear before until today, it's an alright game. A little repetitive but the weapon upgrades at least give the impression of achievement and progress. Not bad for $0.75 though. I haven't played many top down shooters, but Primal Fear seems alright and isn't as bad as its poor metascore indicates. (Maybe I'm too nice)

Any CAGs going to join me in an attempt to finish in the top 3? :whee:

I think the competition is a good idea.. but completely the wrong game. I don't know why they chose Primal Fears, maybe the dev paid them off.

Not sure I have it in me to play enough of that game to rank :joystick:

One of the Groupees guys posted in the support chat yesterday afternoon (3 PM CST) that downloads should be fixed within 24 hours.
So much for that.

I hadn't even heard about it.

I've wanted to enter the contest, but I'm not confident in my ability to beat the high score on a game I've never even tried downloading.

But I guess if everyone else is willing to embarrass themselves for the small small chance of prizes, I certainly can too.

I'm moving up the ladder :whee:(8th currently). I don't really have a good reason why I'm actually doing this, but it sounded fun and I like friendly gaming competitions.

For those who've never played Primal Fear, it's not terrible difficult. I'd recommend playing the Hospital Map a few times to get the hang of it and to build up your assault rifle. Avoid getting hit by the mutants because each hit deducts your multiplier total by 1. Collect all the cash boxes, take down mutants, read the newspapers, and make it to the end of each level to face a swarm of mutants. You get bonuses for finishing the level under a certain time, amount of chests collected, the total multiplier earned, and mutants killed all add up to give you your point total for each map. That's pretty much it.

Though I'm not sure I actually care (and I have not the game required), I'm a little unclear on the scoring... is it level based, campaign based (e.g. culmination of levels played with each being a single static score with the outcome based wholly on individual perfection), or simply OMGISUNK144HOURSINTOPRIMALFEARSIWIN?

I don't blame anyone for not really caring about a generic indie top down shooter, but the scoring is more campaign based (but not static) and maps/levels can be repeated to raise your cumulative score apparently. So more or less a combination of campaign and I sunk xx hours into this game.

i.e. say you score 365,500 on the first map and 1,200,500 on the second map your score would be 1,566,000. If you replay the first map again and get 550,000 your score bumps up to 2,116,000. That's how scoring works right now for the Groupees competition, I am guessing since there is no real explanation. However, for some reason your score is your cumulative score minus your first received score. Groupees said they're working on some things with the scoring totals since it's their first competition. Going so far as to calling it a beta contest. They also said they plan to do more of these competitions in the future.

I may give this competition a go this weekend.  I wouldn't mind creating a bundle with Magicka, Alan Wake Franchise, Metro 2033 and Bad Rats.

Don't forget Radical Roach :whee:

Well, I can't get Primal Fear to run.  I really need to get a better video card if I can ever stop being so cheapass.

Oh well, best of luck to all the other CAGs in the contest.

OMG GUYS, THE BEST BONUS EVER JUST UNLOCKED! HYDROPHOBIA PROHECY! THE NEXT BONUS IS MUSIC, CAN'T WAIT TO LISTEN TO IT

I didn't realize the KISS bundle was ending so soon.  I haven't picked it up yet.  Is there anything in it actually good?  Hypersonic and Grimind look alright, maybe Bloop. Anything else worth the time?

Also, yeah Hydrophobia!  I'm aquaphobic and will never play you...sad.

Grimind has been Greenlit so if steam keys are important to you it's one to pick. You should probably look at the reviews on Desura however before buying Hypersonic

I don't think Grimind was greenlit. I'd be a little surprised if it was, the game is very unpolished.

Hmm, yeah, that's not exactly glowing praise. I guess my oddly specific itch for a new aerial combat game is going unscratched for a while longer.

Another thing to consider is that Hypersonic 4 was included as a bonus with Build a Greenlight Bundle 2. So if you bought that bundle, and you aren't always diligent about redeeming your keys, you might actually own it without knowing.

My key for Pester in the Build a Doujin bundle is not there yet.  I assume they just started adding the keys so I'm not going to worry about it yet.

Wait what? Are you sure, I swear I'd seen it on one of the greenlight lists :whistle2:k

EDIT: huh, I guess you're right. Sorry for spreading misinformation, I'm not sure what I was confusing it with.

Is it too late to edit this post and include Bioshock Infinite?

Son of a biscuit, I was joking Groupees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pester got added to Desura recently and now comes with a desura key if you bought the Build a Doujin or KISS 2 bundle.
got mine plus 2 extra copies of hypersonic 4 for buying 3 greenlight 2 bundles when they were 75 cents sweet.

Where's m3h Topware RPG bundle?!?!
It died after you used a 3 to replace the letter e like some 37-year-old single man pretending to be a 14-year-old Asian girl in an AOL chatroom from 2003.

Is Zack Zero really that bad where it's not worth extra keys of Hydrophobia, Proj Aftermath and Steam cards to sell?
The game itself if pretty bad but you probably have nothing to lose if there is a one game minimum between cards and extra keys. I didn't enjoy my time playing the game though, too many bugs to deal with.

Well if bugs are the problem i probably should bother. I'd try out a poorly designed game, but a poorly made game just sounds annoying.

There'll be a Luxor Evolved Groupees Tournament.. 1st prize is a $100 steam giftcard. The game looks decent so this one may be worth participating in.

Cool, a contest I actually have a sliver of a chance winning :D

I can already hear the groans of Mooby, but I for one love bite sized casual games and will definitely be getting Luxor and Samantha Swift at least ^_^

Nobody on my "friend list" -- aka non-good-taste-havin' bitchmade pedophile convention (I saw some of you within a 100 feet when I dropped off my kid at school the other day. Stop wearing wack clothes.) -- has Luxor Evolved.

If you regret being hopelessly SWAGLESS because you didn't cop PAC-MAN then I'm sorry but I can't help you there. Good luck with that.

Luxor Evolved is the closest thing to PAC-MAN CE DX+ on Steam. It's awesome; it's flawless -- fcuk your life.

I really like Luxor - I have every Luxor available on Steam (probably not actually necessary). Luxor Evolved has become my go-to game for that series. They really stepped up and made it unique from the rest, while maintaining the same feel.
