Halo 3: ODST - Gen. Discussion & Info

Well, we got all the difficulty and level achievements. I can still get 220 points from completing the campaign solo and doing a couple side things. I can definitely play Firefight with you guys, just not after 10 Eastern tomorrow, as I said, unless it's a few hours after that.
 
Like I mentioned, I'm off of work tomorrow, my only plans are beer and pizza around 5 for dinner and I shouldn't be there much past 8(probably back by 7.) If that doesn't work out, I can stay up late too if needed, I'd like to get some achievements since I wasn't able to play the entire campaign with you guys front to back and still need all but the last two levels and the two levels we played the other night.
 
you guys doing endure if so please i would like to play send me a message or invite Mr Sn00py those are zeros not the letter o, I've got nothing that has to be done today and I'm off tomorrow live on the east coast.
 
What time did you guys have in mind today?

Matt, nothing happening yet, but even if we start up, if you want to hop on later when you can(or before?) I think it only fair we make room for you since you've been here all along. I would certainly give up my spot if needed.
 
Thanks, but I don't want anyone giving up their spot for me. I got all the campaign achievements when you didn't. I can always play Firefight some other time. I'll only be missing out on one level, anyway. Hopefully I can get that later.

No clue, but I think you'd have to play another round.
I'm not sure how many games are going to played.

FF doesn't let you jump in and out though, which sucks.
 
So if there's no drop in/drop out, how will you only play 1 round? I'm confused.

Oh well... Like I said, I can play with you guys some other time.
 
We ended up playing through two of the maps. "1 round" of firefight(playing til you're out of lives as a team) took us on average about an hour or so. Pretty sure we are planning on playing again tomorrow night on two more maps too.
 
I think we should do two maps a night. That should take us a few days to finish them all, then we can work on the Heroic achievement.
 
Sounds good to me. Friday and Saturday, will want to go early if we can. I have to work at 2 am on each of the following mornings, so would like a 4 hour nap (means ending around 10ish) if possible.
 
Any chance you guys might want to do some of the maps with me, too? I need all the Firefight achievements; it's just that you already had 4 by the time I got on here tonight.
 
Matt - I am totally okay and up for playing the ones again we played tonight to get you the achievement. It's not a super exciting mode, but it's fun enough. I work until midnight EST Fri/Sat/Sun this weekend so if they end up starting earlier those days, by all means, take my spot since I won't be available those nights before midnight.
 
Reach is somewhat around the corner (September 14th, right?), and I still don't have ODST. I keep thinking about getting it, as my H3 disc gives me trouble sometimes, but I'm not sure it's worth it. Big fan of Halo multiplayer, and I also only have the Legendary maps. Getting ODST would be cheaper than just buying the Mythic packs, anyways. And I've also been wanting to try out Firefight, although I've heard it's kind of.."meh".

Opinions?

my opinion? ok

the campaign is fairly short, but also enjoyable imo. its not like other halo's (in some ways) and you can tell. i really liked the music. i actually liked firefight, for a little while anyway, but i like horde in gears 2 much better. you already know the multiplayer, though personally i dont know if it would be worth picking up now with reach right around the corner. but if you are interested in the campaign, firefight, and the multiplayer, it may be worthy of your purchase.

All right. Sounds good. I just don't think I'll have any other chance of getting the achievements. No one else who has them will want to play them again.

Well, if Blackout/IceBlueShoes/TypicalKnave/JStryke don't have their full group going, I'll likely be joining them. If they are all together (and even if not) , you and I could team up, if we could get at least one other person.
 
Change of plans. I can't play tonight. Can definitely go tomorrow though.
 
Just got out of the shower, but yeah, looks like a no go tonight. For tomorrow, can't start any later than 8pm EST (although would prefer earlier). I have to wake up at 2am saturday as mentioned previously.

Speaking of, sister's graduation is that morning, and while I don't know for sure, if she is still having her party, I'm a no go for Saturday night.

No. Has to be 4 different people. If anyone disconnects, it negates the achievement and closes the game.
 
I've got a friend who just got a copy of ODST not too long ago; he doesn't have many of the achievements, so perhaps he and I would be down for 200Ks or Endure, etc. I don't know what his schedule is like exactly, but I'm pretty sure we'll both be available this weekend in the evenings (EST).
 
My friend and I will be online in about 30-45min (currently 10:25pm EST) if anyone wants to party up with us. Just send me a message over XBL.
