Halo 3: ODST - Gen. Discussion & Info

No good for me. I actually went to bed early last night since I leave for work in half an hour. Same will apply for today as well (although I won't be online at all if my sister is still having her grad party which I'm unsure of). Sun - Thurs though, I'm good whenever as long as we don't start TOO late.

Looks like we got our group then. And now to work out a time. I don't know what all works for everybody, but I figure somewhere between 8-10pm EST? I know Matt's on the west coast and I think he prefers later times, not sure of Knave. I'm assuming Ill is Central, although not sure on that.

Also while I think about it, does anybody have Endure? I don't, and don't think Matt does (I recall playing with him a month or two trying to get it). I'm fine either way, but I figure the 200k would be easiest to knock out first, and then we can try for endure afterwards? That or we just play all rounds on heroic and see if we actually get close on one (though this would take longer potentially).
 
I am in the est and would prefer later times but can be on any time Monday that is needed. I think we should stick with the 200k achievements for now since that way we can better gauge which map is easiest to do endure on too. What time sounds good for you guys on Monday?
 
I can't promise that I can do 8 Eastern, but I'll try my best if that's what everyone else wants to do. I can make it by 10 Eastern for sure. It really just depends on whether or not I can sleep.

Alpha Site is the way to go for Endure.

I agree. We should definitely knock out the 200k first and get a feel for all the maps. We would most likely end up frustrated if we went straight after the Endure achievement.

For Monday, 10 or 11 EST works for me. I'm up for doing two maps tomorrow since they take about an hour each. After two I can't take much more Halo, lol.
 
If we go late, I prefer 10 over 11.

I think it depends on the player(s). I haven't been on Alpha Site yet so don't know anything about that map, but Lost Platoon was fairly easy to get close too (especially when you stockpile choppers).
 
Well, like I said, I can definitely do 10, but possibly earlier. I am also good for at least 2 maps. I'd like to join in on as many as possible in order to get the achievements, of course, but I realize that we have more than 4 people involved in this.
 
Sounds like 10 EST is going to be the time for us to get together then. I figured since we were going for 200k on each map, we would just pick the one we thought we did best on/liked the most to attempt Endure on, if not that, we could attempt endure on Lost Platoon too(since JStryke has already done it and the rest of us still need the 200k achievement for that one.)

Lost Platoon is a fun map and certainly one of the easier ones, but do you want to have to deal with Wraiths on Heroic? Alpha Site's nice for Endure as enemies can only come from two directions, which are fairly easily covered by pairs. Plus there aren't any vehicles to deal with nor are the phantoms able to shoot you unless you're standing right in the drop zones (not recommended).
 
That does sound fairly easy. Although the wraiths didn't give us much trouble oddly enough. Once again though, that depends on who you have. On my endure attempt, the one guy weysamuraix, is a freaking machine when it comes down to taking wraiths. :razz:

Guess we'll see for sure whenever we tackle that map (we're just going in order as far as I know and not sure off hand where that map is at in the order).

We can always just do lost platoon normally as well and decide then. Either way. It doesn't bother me as I do enjoy firefight at least.
 
Well, it's 11:20 now and JStryke and have been on since 10 but with no sign of the other two of you so I'm guessing we're going to call it off for the night. Would tomorrow work for you guys instead? I can be on when needed in the afternoon/evening, just let me know.
 
Yeah, I wasn't sure if you guys misunderstood 10 as 11 or not since nobody seemed to really confirm it. I might be out in town tomorrow, but I should be back sometime later in the evening if we want to try getting a game going then. But I know the Lakers game is on, so Matt may not be in?
 
Sorry; I just woke up a short while ago. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned my sleeping problems here before, so no need to bore you with the details.
 
Not a problem, I'm not one of those guys that's anal about times, just play when we can. I'll be on tomorrow afternoon/evening, if we can get a game going then, that would be awesome. I'll leave the time up to you guys though since there seem to be prior obligations for you both.
 
Yeah, I actually set my alarm for 2 P.M. Pacific, but after being up for 40+ hours I simply needed more sleep. I figured I'd still wake up in time to play.
 
That's cool, guys. Are we on for tonight at any particular time? If needed, we can do it before the game if you all are available then too.

11 EST work for you all then? Lakers/Celtics starts at 9EST so should be over(? Don't really know, I don't watch basketball) in two hours right? If not, we can hold off til the end of it if needed but I don't want to be up much past 1 or so myself if possible.
 
I won't be able to play again tonight. If you guys get somebody else to fill my spot that's cool.
 
well now we need 1 or 2 more people for deja vu depending on the day wanna do tonight but i doubt we will get to pm me tag and ill add and set up a time then later we will do endure after
 
We haven't played since that one night we did those two rounds. I'd like to play a few rounds tonight(any time from now through about 11pm EST tonight!), any chance we can get together before 7 EST(JStryke needs it to be this early)? Anyone interested in getting something together now?

Friday and Saturday nights are usually bad for me because Saturday and Sunday morning I have to leave for work around 2:30 AM. Because of this, I try to be in bed on these two nights around 10PM so I can get a four hour nap or so beforehand. I say 7, as I figure if we do two maps, that gives us 60-90 minutes for each one.
 
I want to play for sure. I was unavailable most of the week and I'm going to be out tonight, but I can play tomorrow. I really want Endure and all the "beat this level on Firefight" achievements before Reach comes out, and you guys are literally the only people on CAG still playing.
 
Okay, how is 7 pm tonight for everyone then? I will be on regardless, so if this works for you guys, hop on around then and we'll see if we can get a group of 4 at that time.
