I got my 5 today shipped from Quebec. None of them had any French any where, but most had a Canadian Home Video rating sticker.

Too bad the prices went up cause I probably would have snagged another 3 or 5.

Placed a second order yesterday for Tremors, The Sting, Children of Men, Half Baked, and Smoking Aces... so I ordered a total of 9 movies from this sale... would have ordered more, but I have a 1000 mile drive to Va this week for my brothers wedding and to visit friends... that is just one way too...

just put an order in for:

children of men
fear and loathing
serenity
chronicles of riddick
40-year old virgin

In for 6 HD DVDs.... prices are excellent even with shipping. I passed on the 11.99 one's, but still got some great titles.

crap.. i was avoiding this thread on purpose as i didnt want to drop any more cash on the format but these prices are too good

and the heroes set is amazing.. great show.. great set

edit- wow the shipping prices suck.. ill hold off
But Guyver, despite the s&h, you're still technically getting a good overall price per disc.
I agree with Guyver, granted price per disc after shipping is fine. My issue was they are padding cost by adding to shipping.

Guyver: I didnt order on the site becuse of shipping cost, but I did an e-mail order when the site was down. When they sent me the invoice shipping was 7 bucks less. Also this was on 6 disc.

Mine came today, half of them had French and English on the cover and said "FOR SALE ONLY IN CANADA" on the seal stickers. Oh well, they were cheap enough I'll ignore the multi language crap on the spines lol
Which movies have you guys bought that have the french writing on them jsut to see which of mine will have them.
English/French:
Children of Men
Dawn of the Dead
The War

English:
Fast Times
Field of Dreams
Red Dragon

It's too bad that they raised the prices on a lot of the movies. I didn't want to make a huge order, never having dealt with these folks before. My experience was pretty positive, though, so I would like to buy more, if they drop the prices back down on some of the titles I want.
i didnt see it mentioned earlier but i'm assuming shipping was through usps? and what was your turnaround time?
Yes, USPS media mail. My turnaround was over week (shipped the 22nd and got them today), but a number got their orders in under a week.

Damn! USPS tried to deliver my first package today but I was out at a meeting. Now I have to wait until Monday to go pick it up.

Still haven't gotten mine. Ordered on the 23rd from the Canadian website. Should I just wait it out? I contacted customer service but they haven't replied.

It took their customer service some time to get back to me via e-mail, as well. I went on their live chat and got my question answered quickly.

Keep in mind it is an international order (they are based in Canada), so it could get delayed a bit. In an e-mail they sent me, they said to allow for up to 14 days between shipment and delivery.

Checkout on US site doesn't seem to work--java script errors on ie and firefox on ever pc i tried. Cannot check out as guest or log into existing account.

One of my orders shipped Monday and arrived today.

These movies have dual language:
The Mummy
The Mummy Returns
Miami Vice

Thankfully its not too noticable.

Bourne Ultimatum arrived today, woot. Entire Bourne collection in HD and I only paid 10 bucks :D Now I just need Mallrats and Monty Pythons Meaning of Life and my HD collection is done.

Is there anyway to check status of an order online? I placed my order on 5/21 and I haven't gotten anything...not even a shipping confirmation.

It seems like the standard HD DVDs are all Canadian releases while the combo format ones are normal US releases with a Canadian Home Video Rating sticker on the plastic.

Same here. Never got any shipping confirmation. I e-mailed them, but didn't get an answer. Went on their live chat, though, and the girl said the stuff shipped. Got mine Friday.

Children of Men was a Canadian release, at least for me.

I emailed just now...might have to try the live chat when I get home.

My two orders both showed up today. All of the disc have the "The Sound Of Perfect" in dual English/French. Most of them have dual-language titles, cover art and back cover info.

Got my order Friday - 10/18 Dual language packaging. Feel like I'm 8 yrs old again and getting Star Wars figures from the Toy Liquidators near the Canadien border eheh
Got mine, and only some have french on them.
Hmmm.. I wish I knew that some of these titles were in french before I bought them.

Both my Canadian and US order arrived today (along with my Woot! orders so the Mailman came with his arms packed). Some of them have actual French writing on them (doesn't bother me), and some are in all English but have a French sticker on the cellophane wrap.

Got mine today for Knocked Up (when it was $5.99). Dual Language. For $10 for the Combo HD-DVD, I'm still happy.

I see that they have added new titles now:

1) Derailed $5.99
2) Eastern Promises $11.99
3) Hot Fuzz $11.99
4) Waist Deep $5.99

mick16: Tough day to be a Wings fan, no? I want my 4-1/2 hours back from last night! 35 seconds. They couldn't ice the puck or knock that guy away from the side of the net. Good ol' Ozzie giving up the last minute goal. Gotta win before you get the Conn Smythe, you moron.
Yeah, that one hurt. I just knew that once it hit OT it wasn't going to be a happy ending. Why they didn't have another D on that side of the net was beyond me. I still think they'll win the series, but winning in Pittsburgh is tough and anything can happen in a game 7, so the anxiety is kicked up a notch.
Eastern Promises for what comes out to $15....not bad. Just got my 7 in. Thanks OP!
Eastern Promises is now available at DeepDiscount.com for 11.98 with free shipping, and possible extra 20% off starting Friday. They have a lot of HD-DVD titles for $11.98.

Got an e-mail from them today, saying they added more stock. Unfortunately, a lot of them aren't $6, so the shipping kills a lot of the deals, especially with DeepDiscount doing 20% off.

GRRRR! I got a notification via email the other day saying they had a problem with my order. Something about due to high demand that one of my films I requested wasn't in stock and they held the entire order until I figured out what I wanted... Ah well, time to swap the one that they don't have with one I want
