HD Loader reviews?

Did anyone who ordered it from our "Canadian Ebay friend" actually receive theirs yet? He told me some bullshit about my paypal email having been corrupted and therefore he didn't know I had paid. I contacted him 11 days after the auction ended and got that fiasco resolved but I am still a bit leery of this transaction.

So the guy couldnt log onto paypal and see??? Sniff sniff sniff, I smell a scam brewing!
 
I'm not sure what his problem was. He's a reputable Ebay seller with tons of feedback. I really had no reason to mistrust his business ethics. Plus the guy was REALLY QUICK to respond to my inquiry but it just made me worry when he said he couldn't find any record of my payment. I have no idea what methods he uses to keep track of his business transactions but dayum...

From looking at his feedback. He takes a while to ship. i just got my shipping e-mail. But I paid by Money order.
 
just got mine yesterday and can say i am very pleased. Everyone with an HD in their PS2 needs to get this. It is a must!

p.s. i played Driv3r on it yesterday and for some reason the whole ame looked very different... not in a bad way, but different.
 
Well I'm still waiting for my damned HD Loader. Fortunately, the seller has responded to my inquiries. If I weren't moving in a week I wouldn't have a problem with the lag in shipping. I really want this product.
 
If u used a regular HDD would u still have the little options that coem with the Sonyy one?(like videos in nfl 2k5 halftime , n Re outbreak loading alot faster?
 
I just LOVE this product!!! I just need to get a bigger harddrive & learn how to use HDL_Dump to get Xenosaga on the drive.

So if you have an official Sony HDD, you can see videos during halftime on 2k5?

The site seems to have gone down - too many gamers trying to hit it at once, I imagine.

What're the odds that we'll have a foreign knock off on the market within three months?
 
The HDLoader is NO MORE. BUT...they're coming out with HDAdvance, which is basically the same but contains an extra disc that has other utilities for your HDD. The price is the same, I believe.

You CAN'T play any DNAS online games w/o using the original disc because it will fail the DNAS check and there is no way around this so far.

Try right now. It's called the HD Advance www.hdadvance.com and it's already been reviewed by ps2ownz.com
 
ok so if i buy the HD Advance its exactly like HD Loader but thers an extra disk that will allow u to put dvds in ur hdd. Is this correct? and all i need is just HD advance and everything is fine.
 
krazy azn1127 - it appears that if you already have the hd loader, then you'll know exactly what to do. i've used the hd loader a couple of times so far and with success, but for the games that are already on the list. it works great and flawlessly. now, i'll be looking into the hd advance. it's supposed to be released 8/2. i'm sure we will never be able to play those kind of games online officialy but i'm sure there will be other avenues opening up soon. sad to see the demise of the loader so quickly but after i used it i was already waiting for an updated version. hopefully we'll have some reviews for all of us CAG's next week. peace!
 
The mod at ps2nfo which i think is the same as ps2ownz, says the HDAdvance is the exact same thing as HDLoader(can't find the post he said it in, i think he deleted it). I wouldn't buy 2 things that are the same unless hdadvance is upgraded.

HD Loader with FREE slidecard tool, $29.50. I've heard of a few who ordered from this site and received it.

Also came across this, from the same site:

- A Clone/misrepresentation product now announced "HDADVANCE".
- This product is a rip off of the HDLOADER, there is no advancements at all, just a different color of menu header but the rest of it is the hdloader (blue) screen.

I finally received my copy on Saturday. I had shipping problems with the Ebay seller but he was kind enough to send another one to my new address. He even shipped it with a canadian confirmation number so I would know that it went out. I payed him the shipping costs since he was already eating a $35 dollar loss. I thanked him profusely via email and immediately went to leave him feedback. Too bad Ebay cancelled his account. He had over 2000 positive feedbacks on his account and they crushed him. I'll give you one guess as to why.

Cheapy, is HDLoader going to be a ROM-esque verboten topic?
 
It's a grey area as far as I understand it. For example, CAGers can talk about MAME but once the discussion turns to downloading roms (i.e. where to download them) then the topic needs to be stopped. The rules for HD loader are something along those lines.
 
is it possible to get a bootleg of HD Advance? I would hate to start looking for this one day on ebay or something and possibly buy a fake.
 
HDadvance has been bootlegged already as I understand it. It's best to just keep looking for reliable retailers that deal in things like this rather than buying from auctions.
 
so how is consolesource as a company? I never heard of them until I started reading this thread. do they ship pretty quick or should I expect a long wait?

also, what would be the best HDD to use with this?
