Humble Bundle Thread

So on a not really serious note, is Railroads worth playing?

I already passed on Ace Patrol 1 and 2 for a dollar from Amazon.  Have Civ IV and V so III just seems unnecessary.  Railroads is the only reason I'd get this (not that I wouldn't add the other games to my account, but still).

nah i was messing around i was being sacarsitic

* I'm wondering about the 'other' games in this deal, too. (i.e. - games not Civ related). Anyone care to give an opinion on the other titles?

* What is the going rate for these days on the Civ Brave New World expansion pack? Is $8.32 a good price? (i.e. $15.00 minus the current BTA of $6.68)

It was a couple of $$ cheaper on Gamefly (with coupon and sale) last week I believe?

Gamefly had BNW for $5.62 last week.

ugh. I know i'll probably never boot up any of these games in my life, outside of idling for games...but it's such a good bang for the buck. my initial reaction was "no way" but now i'm betting i buy it before it's over

Price trackers - sig.

In for $1 for Sid Meier's games in Tier #1.

EDIT:

Sure, I own most of these - but some of 'em, don't have some of 'em on Steam....until NOW!

Saves me trouble of breaking out discs on Railroads.

Also, now I also got Civ 3 Complete + Civ 4 Complete on Steam.

Only had those DRM-FREE before.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

I've played a few hours of Ace Patrol; it's a fun but very simplistic hex based strategy game. The missions are all pretty basic, such as reconing a base or shooting down enemy blimbs. You have a group of four pilots which you can upgrade to learn new moves, unlock new planes, and get a shiny new rank to prove they are the best (I named mine after CAG friends; Fox is a bloody awful shot). It's enjoyable if you like the genre but want something a lot less involved or demanding than most games of the sort, but it's also repetitive and lacking in depth. You inevitably wind up playing a lot of the same sorts of missions with little variation and the difficulty is a bit unbalanced, with the lower levels being far too easy and the higher ones too difficult. I imagine MP could be fun, but unfortunately it's asynchronous only like the iOS version which isn't very ideal for a PC game (in my opinion). The port is also pretty underwhelming, with an obviously touch oriented design and less than stellar textures (also the full screen mode doesn't work right).

I know I said a lot of negative things about it, but I still find the game to be fun in short bursts. It's nothing you'll be sinking dozens of hours into like most strategy games, but if you just want a fun time waster or an easy introduction to the genre it definitely suffices. I payed $1 for it before the bundle and definitely think I got my moneys worth (enough for me to pick up the sequel for another dollar anyway, which I haven't touched yet). If you have any interest in the games I'd say it's worth picking up the bundle for the pair (and hey, they've both got cardz).

Same here. It's a good bundle eh?

Awesome bundle for me as I held out on Civ V the last few times steam and AMZ a had them on sale. Have been craving some Civ gaming for a while now, but all the deals have spoiled me and hate to spend more than a couple dollars on a game.

All for games I've never even played, too!

:whistle2:X

I normally don't do strategy games - but if cheap, I will buy. I do think maybe one day, that one strategy game I play and really dig...will make me wanna play the REST!

I did test Civ 5 out a while ago, when its demo was out and I think Amazon DVG had it like dirt-cheap years ago - and yes, I did like it quite a bit.

I just...never got around to really sinking time into it.

with all these new clickables for Civ 4 now in my steam list, will I need to launch each one separately to play that expansion or will launching the main title have all of it inside?
You probably already found out by now, but the one you want is Beyond the Sword. Just download and play that one, everything's included.

Even though I had Civ V - I still got the BTA for the DLC since Steam would have the DLC for $7.50 so it was a dollar cheaper to get the BTA since it was $6.50 when I got it.

Tried to buy $1. Can't pass their shitty captcha. I'll pass
It seems they still charged me. I got a cc notification about the sale. It's the second time they do it. I'll wait 2 days to see if they don't revert the sale and then will fill a support ticket. But it's still very shady that they charge you before verifying the captcha.

The only advise I can give it hit that captcha refresh button until you get one you're really confident about. (or use Amazon/PayPal/GWallet)

It's really cheesy that they are using a $15 Brave New World to bring the average up. People who aren't hardcore cut a bitch about deals and/or who are mesmerized by everything Humble slaps their name on will probably think it's a great deal and buy it up.

However2K just released the Really Honestly We Swear This Time It Actually Is Complete butwehaveourfingerscrossedbehindourbacks Edition of Civ V today so you know at some point that will be $5. Or free.

It's an addicting game but really if you've waited this long you might as well wait for the whole damned thing to go super cheap.

I guess they liked what they saw when they did that limited Starbound sale, didn't they? A new third tier just might keep that average up across the duration of the sale.

I already have Civ 3 & 4, but I kicked in $1 to have them on steam. Never really going to play them off Steam, but it makes me happy to see them on the list. I've been waiting to pick up Civ 5 forever now. I think I'll wait till it's $10 or so for a disc copy and pick it up instead. I like to be able to hug my games.

If they add the Civ 4 soundtrack I'll kick in a few extra bucks.
