Humble Bundle Thread

I might grab the $1-tier for DRM-free versions of stuff I already own and that one game I don't have (ReignMaker). Otherwise, it's a pass. The only relatively good tier is the $1 one.

Darkout piqued my interest, but not at that price and especially now that I searched my library only to realize that I already own it.

#MathIsHard... the overall average is higher than all the sub-averages?  Impossible

They let you update your platform to nothing, so it might be possible, just not remotely likely.

They had an issue a few bundles ago where the average wasn't updating. I guess it's persisted.

Ah, my assumption was the that {Win,Mac,Lin} formed a partition on the set, but it does not... thus my point does not hold.

However Miranda's average calculation really raises an eyebrow, assuming that all the numbers are from the same point in time.

I have a real love/hate thing going with this bundle. It hits a lot of the right buttons (sandbox/sidescroll) for me, but there are these other little things (besides $10) that give real reason for pause.

Windforge: + side-scrolling/block-building, + user reviews, - critic reviews
Stacking: - own it
ReignMaker: + match 3, + user reviews
Paranautical Activity: - douche dev
Strife Closed Beta Key: - pay for beta = fu
Darkout: + sandbox/crafting, - might be abandoned
Signs of Life: + sandbox/side-scrolling, + user reviews
Curse Premium: - haha no (and own all the freebie GOG games)
Lifeless Planet: - more "experience" than game?, + user reviews
Edge of Space: + sandbox/sidescrolling, + user reviews

I'd love to hear some impressions about these games as I may have completely incorrect impression, and spending $10 would be pretty fake.

At least $3. $4-$5 a book seems more typical for a paperback if I'm looking for something specific. You can jump online and get used books for $1 (or even sometimes $0.01) each, though. Plus $4 shipping. With no combined shipping.

Getting a specific book just isn't that cheap in any format. Which is just one reason why I am quite the fan of libraries.
I am thankful for clearance sections at HPB (~1.00) and Hastings (as low as 50 cents, depending on what the clearance prices are at.)

If you somehow don't have Stacking, the $1-tier is worth it for that alone.

Though don't be too sad when it's rebundled again a million times with other Double Fine games.
When's that Double Fine Humble Bundle with Grim Fandango Remastered coming...? ;)

The thing that's not apparent with Reignmaker is it's really hectic. It's much more like Legend of Fae than Puzzle Quest. They look radically different but they both have this real time you have balance two sections of the screen at once don't have a ton of time to plot out your moves thing going on.

The city builder stuff adds a little bit of a different element but it's REALLY casual so don't expect Sim City or anything. It's basically use money to upgrade the 5 or so buildings 3x. It's got about the depth of a Facebook city builder.

The visuals are kind of crude in a I'm constantly reminded this is an indie game sort of way. It's not quite Air Control but don't expect Trine or Gianna Sisters level art either.

The other thing is these are the same devs as Dungeon of Elements who went on a Nazi banning censoring spree on that forum. While I've no doubt that some people who wrote positive reviews on Steam reviews and the forum were sincere, it wouldn't exactly shock me if they squelched some negative reviews and feedback and the impression you get on Steam isn't the entire picture.
