Humble Bundle Thread

Missing 3 of those so not sure $3.33 each is worth it. Also that's likely the most bull tiered bundle ever. The $1 tier is near worthless and barely has anything.

I have no idea if this is a good stepping in point. There are so many Warhammer books. There have also been many ebook bundles. I just know I get these and read a few, so for others interested it's good pointing it out.

Agreed. I remember playing a demo of both Gloomwood and American Arcadia and enjoying both greatly. En Garde was a lot of fun, and I will probably play Entropy Center and Lost in Play.

Ship of Fools appears to have co-op issues, sadly, and Deliver Us Mars is likely the weakest one for me. But otherwise, I have no problems picking this up for the two headliners alone.

Just noting this also as it has a bit over a day left. For $18 it's all the current paperbacks in digital form from this series and for $30 you also get a previous Hellboy bundle and those respective comics/graphic novels.

There is also a massive Dyanamite comics one with Vampirella, Red Sonja and a bunch of other junk running as well.

Anyone wanna split this bundle:

Expensive and has some cool stuff but the prices are too high for the tiers. Grindstone is a very fun game which I played a lot of on the Switch a few years ago.

High tier has the not bundled like crazy stuff. Another one that's worth it if you don't own much, but not sure about those who own most of this.

Been playing High on Life for a few hours on Game Pass since it's about to leave and it's... okay I guess. I hit a bit of difficulty spike and wasn't really enjoying it enough to stick with it and I'm soft locked into that fight so I doubt I'll go back. Seems pretty likely though everything in that bundle will be bundled again later for a lower price.

I guess w/ the $25 tier - they're banking on people feeling High on Life often goes for around that and that the rest you can look at as "free"? [shrug]

I dunno about that top tier still though... [shrug]

EDIT - Future Games Bundle, Nightdive Remastered FPS Bundle, Brutal Beat 'Em Up (all full bundles) looks better than the one w/ High on Life one (IGN Live at Home) to me. I definitely want to check out High on Life and Atari 50 - but not at $25.

Kinda glad to hear that. It looks really interesting and I've been debating on dropping $25 for essentially that, Atari, and Grindstone. Thank you for your sacrifice, I've come to my senses.

High on Life is very dependant on if the humor clicks for you. I found it pretty hit or miss and some of the situations/areas get revisited during the game and just aren't as clever the second time around. That said a few of the guns are pretty humorous (some are just annoying) and the game itself is decently fun with some entertaining boss fights. I'd give it a 7/10, not worth $25 for sure but I don't regret spending time on it with gamepass.

I'm sure it's not the desired bundle for many here but I'm sure plenty of people here have kids and most of these games have a prior low equal to the cost of the whole bundle. And for those who are collectors this is a lot of licensed games that have high potential for being delisted in the future. Just because a bundle isn't for you doesn't make it bad.

Humble sent out an email about "refer a friend" going away due to a "spike in referral abuse".

1) How did their referral program work?
2) Is there any particular reason for the "spike"? Did something happen, or did they implement a poorly-thought-out system?

Everyone with an account had a referral link they could give to people from their account settings page. I think the original max limit was 32 referrals or something like that. You could potentially abuse it and refer yourself to get free humble credit back in the day. No idea if that still worked in the past several months but if it was still anywhere near that easy it explains why they shut it down. I'm more surprised they didn't disable it years ago.

I'd imagine that they took action against obvious abusers but who knows honestly, I don't think I've seen anyone get banned for doing it. If anything, they were far more concerned with resellers and have banned plenty of people that resell games. But even that is easy to bypass, just never turn your games into gift links.

Afaik, it's been pretty hard to make new accounts without a completely fresh non-prepaid payment method and fresh phone number. Not that I doubt that weren't account mills but this is probably just an excuse to cut costs.

Strate-GOG Bundle

All GOG games here so DRM FREE

$18 Tier

Expeditions: Rome
Railgrade

$15 Tier

Field of Glory II: Medieval
Showgunners

$10 Tier

Hard West 2
SpellForce 3 Reforced

Overpriced IMHO and Field of Glory 2 has some DLC. If you want that the Fanatical bundle with it currently is likely better.

Eh its not a bad deal for how many games you get. Oh how I wish I'd waited on 2-3 of those games. This might be a first time full GoG bundle. If you like tactical type games, X-com like this is a good bundle.

Summer Games Done Quick 2024 Bundle

$20 Tier

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2
Pennys Big Breakaway

$15 Tier

Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Game of the Year Edition

$12 Tier

Blazing Chrome
Dishonored
Hyperbolica

Kind of sad to see one of my favorite summer events have a pretty overpriced (I know 2 of the games are newer) bundle with one of the worst lower tiers I've seen in a while. Only really want Arzette and Penny, so likely a pass for me.

Just wondering which years count as newer to you. Hyperbolica which was released in 2022 or Nickelodeon 2 (2023) don't count as newer? It's definitely a bit expensive, but if you are interested in most of the 2022 or later games (at least 4), it's an ok deal compared to regular retail sale prices.

I really wanted Penny. The rest of the unbundled games are a nice bonus to me. Probably not worth getting if you aren't highly interested in Penny though. For me it's something that I wanted to play now (and I am playing it now), so it made it worth the expensive price. It also hasnt gone below $17 during sales on it's own

Yeah those two pointed out are newer but Hyperbolica looks a bit iffy to me, and the other is Gamemill so who cares. Their stuff is bundled so often it will come back cheaper.

ATP Requiem's great; played it in PC Game Pass.
Been looking forward to Ghostrunner 2 - so that's good.
Starship Troopers RTS looks cool.
Hyperviolent looks so up my alley too - looks like Doom speedy-type-of-FPS meets System Shock.

This might be a pass, but I don't mind the top 3 games for sure. Zoeti is a very low end bundle game IMHO and is a retired game from me. I'm pretty sure I gave a review of it in the Steam thread. I have Hyperviolent already, and it's still EA. Figment 2 maybe one for me, but I haven't played the first. A very meh month, but one I may just barely get.

Figment 2 should be free any day now given how many times they gave away the first one. I have 3 copies of it since it was free and I forgot I already had it on something. I assume steam and epic but forget the 3rd. Probably fanatical or gog one of the usual suspects. The hilarious part was I downloaded and installed it from one of those already and had it on my desktop page but downloaded it again a second time because I'm old and senile.

Muv-Luv Unlimited: THE DAY AFTER - Episode 00 REMASTERED

One of the few good visual novel bundles from Hunble that isn't Sakura whatever okay visual novels. I own most of these other than the day after, which I may get, but I'll see. These are very highly regarded and I've only gone through Muv-Luv the first part myself.

Definitely not my thing but pretty exceptional deal for what it is; none of it has ever been bundled before and some of them have previous all-time lows of $20 on their own.

Muv Luv had a really big Kickstarter years ago, so I figure anyone that was really interested would've backed that and have most of these. That being said.. there's still stuff in here that wasn't in the Kickstarter, which sucks for me because it's nearly impossible for me to split the bundle and only get the things I'm missing. Really good value if you're interested and have none of the Muv Luv series

To anyone who’s played any of it, how generic is the main character? I can’t really get into these anymore if the MC is a black hole of personality self-insert.

He's pretty generic, but the way the games are set up is that the first game is normal high school anime stuff, and then in the second game he's transported to an alternative world where aliens have invaded and wiped out 99% of humanity, including the version of him that lived in that world, so he practically becomes a Gundam pilot in the battle for Earth. I skipped the entire first game to get right to the action because mechs fighting for humanity's survival is cool and I liked that this is one of the only anime where the harem tropes make sense since he is one of the only men left since all the others died fighting in the war.

There's also two different anime series adapted from these games that were both on Crunchyroll last time I checked, so you can watch those to get a feel for the games or simply if you'd rather just save time instead of reading all these visual novels.

Not impressed with these bundles lately. $15 for the flashback collection. The only two games I probably would want here are ones I already have played and own, Super Meat Boy and VVVVVV

I kind of want to try the Strike Force game in multiplayer/coop, but it is a big price increase from Tier 2 to 3. Will think about it if friends want to play.

Flashback Classics Game Bundle

$15 Tier

Strike Force Heroes
Submachine: Legacy

$5 Tier

Epic Battle Fantasy Collection
The Last Stand Legacy Collection
Super Fancy Pants Adventure
Worms WMD

$1 Tier

Super Meat Boy
VVVVVV

Massive jump in price from Tier 2 to 3. I may be in the minority, but growing up with and playing many flash games I wouldn't pay much for them other than a few bucks (like $2). That third tier needed to be $10 for me to bite the bullet on this one.
