[In-Stores 9/9] Clubhouse Games, Hotel Dusk, Planet Puzzle League Reprints On Amazon

BlueSwim

CAGiversary!
I was not sure if I should post this here or not but considering how rare and pricey Clubhouse Games and Hotel Dusk have been I thought the deals section was the better place. Amazon.com is now taking preorders for what appears to be reprintings of Clubhouse Games and Hotel Dusk: Room 215 for the DS.

Clubhouse Games is one of the rarest DS games out there. Both are listed at $29.99(the price it was when it came out originally) with a rumored release date of September 8(it now says"3 to 6 weeks"). A seller on the Amazon Marketplace is listing new copies of Clubhouse Games at just under $40 with the line "fulfillment by Amazon". That listing was added after this topic was posted. You can preorder your copy/copies at the links below.

UPDATE: Planet Puzzle League, the Tetris Attack clone is getting a reprinting too with a release date of August 19th. The release dates for Clubhouse Games and Hotel Dusk: Room 215 are both set for September 11th.

They are both listed in Target's and Best Buy's weekly ads for the week of the 7th for only $20 each. It's now 100% confirmed.

Lol...it's worth like $40 now. But yeah, I saw the preorders Amazon's taking at the moment. Definitely worth it IMO.

A used/complete copy went for as much as $30.

There was some top 5 list or something with DS games that were rare and/or expensive and Clubhouse was indeed on there. I'll try to find a link.

Easily top 5 best all-around games on the DS, regardless of how rare/valuable it is. Which probably accounts for it being rare/valuable.

Damn, this is rare? I got it within the week of it actually coming out, but not too many people actually had it or played it online... I've still got it, though...

I only found out it was rare through this site. The same thing with Tetris DS. I got my DS a little less than a year ago and picked up a bunch of games for it, including Tetris DS, a month or two after getting the DS. I saw copies of Tetris DS everywhere. Then a few months after that, people started saying it was a rare game and I noticed them all gone from the shelves at all the stores I saw them at...

I wonder why Ninty stopped making Tetris DS, ah well I'll Ebay my copy instead of trading it in at GS if I ever decide to get rid of it.

Clubhouse game is my favorite DS game. It's definitely worth the price, everyone should pick it up while it's cheap on Amazon.

My local Gamestop has copies available in stock, should I just buy original print from Gamestop or the reprint from Amazon?
Useless reprints for casual gamer stuff...
While everyone knows most of the games that are on it, Clubhouse was not a "casual" game. Nintendo made something everyone, casual player or hardcore gamer, could enjoy. Most "casual" games don't please the hardcore gamer.
Here's the link to that list of the rare DS games
Not quite sure I understand why Monopoly/Boggle/Yahtzee/Battleship is highly sought after. Someone who's played it care to explain? I've passed it by many times and have never given it a second glance.

I picked up Clubhouse Games after it hit clearance at Sears a long while ago...believe it as somewhere around $7 or so. And I found a copy of Tetris DS at a KMart while on vacation this past summer.

Maybe I'll pick it up a few weeks after it's reprinted, and buy it used for a bit cheaper, hopefully.

I passed on it due to what I thought was its casual nature, but I enjoyed Tetris DS and Elecktroplankton... so there may be merit in obtaining this game.

right after it was made, Atari lost the Hasbro license so there isn't many of them out there

I might grab a second copy so I have people to play this with. It's a cartridge filled with games. Interesting to see Nintendo do such a widespread reprint. Any chance this might be one of many games to become a "Player's Choice"-type of re-release?

In all honesty, I don't think Nintendo needs the "Player's Choice" branding on the DS. They still have copies of Animal Crossing: Wild World selling for $35 so theres no reason for Nintendo to even consider it yet. If they announce the DS2(not a hardware revision, but a whole new system) then you might see the Player's Choice name appear. You do know Clubhouse Games has "Download Play" right? Where you only need 1 copy of the game to play with other people.

Having owned Clubhouse Games, I really enjoyed it. After playing all of the games on it, I sold it since it didn't hold my interest. I have some friends who swear buy it as a "never sell," but I thought it was quantity over quality. At least it used the DS Rumble Pak.

Since some of us were talking about rare DS games, I would like at add "Wario Ware: Touched" to the list. I think I bought the cart (no box, no instructions) for $20 on eBay and sold it for $25 a few months later.

We still have 5 of these sealed at work, and they've never sold, after all this time. A few months ago, I put them aside for me, but I guess the reprint will bring the value right back down. :/

This is the most played game on my DS by far... every time I make a little visit to the "office" I bring this with me, play a few games of solitare or backgamon usually. BG on hard is quite a challenge, especially if you turn doubling on. I must have racked up at least 100 hours playing this by now.

If it's the "office" I think you mean then all I have to say is "don't drop the stylus".

amazon Canada had it for sale for $20 a couple months ago. I bought the last three copies and resold them on the market place for $60 each lol
I have played so many games of solitaire, there's a worn off bit of screen where the draw pile is.

Stupid game. :whistle2:(
Screen protector.

I was holding off on getting this game until it hit clearance, kinda forgot about it and before I knew it I couldn't find it anywhere. Glad it's getting a re-release, I'm going to jump on this reprint and hopefully I can find it for about 20 bucks.

Hotel Dusk has a ship estimate of 3-6 weeks @$29.99 from Amazon so it may be seeing a reprint as well.

This is rare? I have 2 copies of it. I paid retail for the first one and $10 for the second in a clearance bin awhile back.
Screen protector.
I've thought about it. The problem is that any screen protector I've ever used made the screens look less awesome. I'd rather have my few years of awesomeness, than have a DS that lasts forever and not be able to partake in its full awesomeness.

Agreed. I mean , look how long it took the GBA to get a players choice line up and it only ended up containing about 6 games all together.

In any case , I'm happy that I can finally pick up a copy of clubhouse games for my collection without having to spend double the cost for the game.

Is this the same reason for Tetris DS? I held off on getting it a couple of xmas ago since it was selling at retail:cry:. Could there be any chance that this one would get a reprint? I would gladly sign a petition if it helps.

Would you believe that I was able to track down 1 copy at Best Buy last year when Phantom Hourglass came out for the DS? I had Best buy pricematch a Toys R Us buy 2 get 1 free deal on DS games and picked up Zelda: PH, Tetris DS, and Bleach. I got Zelda free even though it was the most expensive one of the three. I still to this day can't believe I found it there.

Glad that I picked up a lone copy of Tetris DS from Sears last year (paying $30 full retail).

I might have to pick up CHG too whenever it goes on sale.

The HORI brand screen protectors are awesome. I was a big doubter myself, but I picked up 3 sets for myself and my kids when I finally scored a DS just for myself, and I have been very happy with them -- just take your time when u apply them, and make sure you are working on a clean hard surface.

They are available at Target for $9.99 -- look for the word HORI in the upper right corner on the front.

Thanks! I might give them a shot.

The small scratches caused by playing solitaire too much aren't even visible when the screen is on, but it still bothers me that I've played this game that much to cause scratches :)

Wow that's pretty cool.

As for me, I picked up a copy from Gamestop when it was $26.99 used and I got it for $19.99. Also picked up Tetris DS used when it was $29.99 and got that for like $24.xx. Really happy that I got these before Gamestop jacked up their prices.

Thanks OP!

Any way to fix it? I called the nintendo customer service and they told me $50. Said I would just leave my scratches if it costs that kind of money to fix them.
