Indiana Deals Thread

I was planning on stopping at K-Mart, but I was out of money haha. I'll see how my check fares this week and may make a stop in there man haha.

My philips console looks like this - http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/89/Philips_CD-i.jpg

And the controler I have looks like this only without the wire on the bottom (mine is that but wireless) - http://i.testfreaks.com/images/products/340x170/229/philips-cd-i.498149.jpg

So I'm not sure what the port is exactly for the controller. I'm guessing, underneath a flap there is a port that says input, so I'm assuming its that, but not 100% sure.

And ya that was the place haha. I asked if they ever get anything in for Philips CD-i and they said no they don't lol.
i did that last summer at my yard sale (ps2 system for like 70) was a newer system though and had a 1 year warrenty left at best buy.... If it sold it sold if it did not I would still use it....

same with the games.... Sold probally 7or 8 ps2 games for 10 to 15 each
Yah, you're definitely on the list of people I laugh at. For other reasons though...

Question for you Naptown people. I have a assload of games I need to shed. I'm not a collector and I'm sick of having them around. I'd much rather have cash than credit because the last thing I need is more games. Is there anywhere around town that's worth bringing stuff to or should I just put it up on Craig's List or hold it until we have our garage sale?

FTR, it's mostly 2600 and NES with a smattering of Genesis, GBA, Saturn and I think a couple Sega CD titles. Nothing OMG R@RE L@@K or anything like that. Other than McVan's, Disc Replay and that other game shop outside of Broad Ripple, I don't think anyone even goes back that far anymore anyway.

Well unfortunatly man, whenever your on the selling end of a video game deal (unless the game is rare as hell or an oldie still in the box) your probably not going to get as much back as what you paid for it. I have never seen a lot bundled with games and systems sell well, if ever. So if your go the online way, I would suggest nickel and dimeing the games. If your planning on selling to a store/garage sale, I would suggest going to each of those 3 stores and getting a quote. After that, if one of the 3 sounds good sell it to the highest one, if not keep them for the garage sale. I don't garage sale often but the ones I go to never seem to have video games. From what I've heard though, games go for pretty cheap. I've heard stories of people picking up games for 10 cents. Anyways, thats what I'd do man.

Glendale Target: Wheelman and Rock Band 2 (game only) at $41.98 both for PS3 only. Also about 15 or so copies of The Incredible Hulk (360) on the endcaps.

I'd be interested in taking a look at what you've got. Particularly your Genesis, Saturn, and Sega CD titles.

How much was Hulk? I just bought it for $15 at Blockbuster new, just curious to see if I should be disappointed or not at my CAGness haha. :p

I stayed away since I'm in the Castleton area. That store always gets hit hard by sales that SD/FW gets a hold of. That and most of the games I have no real interest in.

I was fortunate to have shown up early at my local Best Buy (Greenwood) as roughly 2-3 minutes after the doors opened a large rush of people crowded the gaming aisle looking for the $10 games. I managed to pick up Soul Caliber IV, Bourne, Too Human, and Infinite Discovery and could have got a few others but decided not too. I wanted to get Pure, Comdemned 2, Red Alert 3, and 007 but there were no copies left when the doors opened this morning. If anyone can get a hold of the games I missed out on or has seen multiple copies at a particular store, I'd appreciate the heads up and/or purchasing them for me.

Once I seen the ad to make sure that this was a sale and not a clearance markdown, which was about Thursday, I hit up the Greenwood Best Buy (sorry Deewtaei). I picked up 6 games on Thursday then picked up another 3 when I went today. I walked away with Quantum of Solace w/T-shirt (last one), Hellboy: Science of Evil, Infinite Undiscovery, Operation Darkness, Silent Hill: Homecoming, Universe At War, Supreme Commander, and Cliver Bakers Jerico. All :360:. Also, headed across the street to the Blockbuster and picked up the last copy of Bullet Witch for $5 from they're clearnce sale. Also Deewtaei, check your private messages, I have a bit of info that may help you haha!! :p

Yep, I actually had that final copy of QOS in my hands on the previos Sunday when I was checking to see if the sale had started (when it was rumoured to start on the 19th). If I had known then, I would've simply price-matched it as I knew that one was somehow going to be gone prior to the 26th. The only other game I was worried about not being there was Too Human as they only had 1 copy left but it was still there a week later. I'm surprised you didn't snag that one up as well.

I grabbed a stack of games from Best Buy...was 3rd in the door and had my pick of pretty much anything I wanted. Got a Naked Bros. Wii bundle for my nephew but turns out he already has it...so might take it back or try to trade it. Got Dancing With The Star bundle for my g/f.

Went to the Sears in Castleton today...no decent clearance deals to report other than Guitar Hero III (PS2) game-only for $5.

Stopped by Best Buy in Castleton just to see what they had left. Pretty much just the crap games. They did have some of the Sing It / High School Musical / Dancing With The Stars bundles left if you need a PS3/Wii/360/PS2 microphone or dance pad. Can probably make your money back selling off the game.

Odd. I went to that Blockbuster a week or two ago and there was no $5 copy of Bullet Witch at that point...I would have bought it. Picked up 2 or 3 games at that store, I believe.

Which Best Buy was this?

Hit the best buy in clarksville indiana, a tank from left 4 dead shoved me out of the way when the doors opened. Luckily I was able to snag Soul Calibur 4 for :360: I price matched Infinite Undiscovery at the local wal-mart. Im going to try price matching meiers on a few later today.

I picked up Too Human a few weeks ago from Target clearance for $15. :/

I hadn't seen it prior either, and it wasn't marked with a clearance sticker either. Unfortunate thing though is that when I went to open it, I noticed that the side plastic was cut and sure enough the game was missing . Like a retard I opened it to make sure it wasn't in there. Either way, if I did take it back today, I doubt it would be hard to convince them that there was no game inside, and since the clearance sale is over, not sure if all sales are final or not. I figured I could spare a $5 loss haha.

Hey, we're doing the garage sale this Saturday. (I hope mentioning this here isn't spammy.) Got videogames, dvds, laserdiscs, CDs, VHS, etc., etc. It's a media extravaganza! If anyone wants to check it out, we're in Indy, 6115 Green Leaves Cr., which is near 62nd and Binford on the North East side.

PM me if you need more info and again, sorry if this is considered spam.

Can you list what titles you have? 62nd and Binford is not a short drive for a garage sale.

Yah, list titles and prices and I might stop by. Going to be in Castleton Saturday for the Star Trek premiere.

Wouldnt you be in town a week early since that film comes out next week?

in case anyone cares i was just at best buy on coliseum and they still had nfl tour, blitz 2, jehrico, rock someting games several ps2 games. Sorry couldnt remember them all. Tired too, just wanted to give some heads up.

Went back to the Greenwood Best Buy today to see if there would be any restock of the $10 games and there were not. Instead, there were signs posted stating they would not give out any rainchecks and that they would not be restocking any games. So, I proceeded to the Wal-Mart on Emerson and County Line and was able to price match both Devil May Cry 4 and C&C Red Alert 3 with ease. I'm still looking for either a Best Buy with Pure or a Wal-Mart that will price match it.
Wouldnt you be in town a week early since that film comes out next week?
Nah, press screening this Saturday. I get to see it early. :) I believe there are several places still giving away free tickets to screenings...I know X103 is tomorrow morning.

Anyone on the south side know of a deal for Guitar Hero World Tour Band Kit? Saw 4 of these pop up on Craigslist today for PS3, PS2, Wii, 360 new with the game and all instruments for $70-80 each. Means it must be on clearance somewhere or these are stolen...one of the two. If it's on clearance...I wanna grab a copy for PS3 or Wii. Seller is on the south side.

If any Indy CAGs are still looking for Quantum of Solace for 360 for $10, the Castleton Best Buy got a shipment in today. Looked like they had 4 or 5 left when I snagged a copy on my lunch.
foltzie left you a pm.
Will reply here in the thread to get the audience in on the suggestion fun.
The only arcade I could find online is "xscape" Do you know if that one is any good and/or any other ones you could reccomend regards on that front?
Havent been to xscape yet, it is locally owned and I found mixed reviews online. The only other arcade is in Circle Center mall downtown and it is called Gameworks. Gameworks is fun, but I dont recall how pricey it was the last time I went.
In regards to a hibachi restaurant. In Fort Wayne we have one restaurant and they charge between 17.99 to 24.99 for the full meal. In Columbus Ohio we found a hibachi restaurant that had a 24.99 for 2 special for lunch. Do you know of any hibachi restaurants that have good specials like that but still have good quality.
I recommend Ginza (on 38th Near Lafayette Road), its locally owned and reasonably priced for a hibachi restaurant. They dont have any lunch specials perse, but their lunch prices are ~$12 for one.
I checked out that Fastimes cart racing site. looks really neat but at $20 a race all I can say is ekkk. the best deals I can see off that is the unlimited racing on monday/tuesday night with membership for $50. I don't think I could stomach 50+50+35+35=$170 though. Thanks for the suggestion though. Anywhere else you can think of that balance the fun of carting with quality and price.
Thats understandable, I'm not aware of any slower (and thus cheaper) Go Cart tracks in Indy, the remaining ones are all of the high speed variety. If someone else can recommend one that would be helpful, because Fasttimes, while a blast, is indeed pricey.
My wife loves hitting thrift stores. Are there any good ones in particular you can mention?
I've heard good things about Value Village on Keystone Avenue near 52nd street. Broad Ripple also has a couple of thrift shops that specialize in Womens clothes. A walk around few square blocks there may be beneficial.

There looks to be a Dave and Buster's springing up at the old CompUSA store near the Castleton Square mall. Saw the lettering on the building off the highway, then saw them installing a big sign up front the other day. Not sure when it's gonna open though.

As far as go-karts, are we looking for regular go-karts? For that variety, the only other one I can think of is GreatTimes on the southside. I'm pretty sure it's still open, but it's been well over 5 years since I've stepped foot there. That also had an arcade.

I saw the sign for Dave & Buster's as well. I thought maybe I just wasn't observant and it had been there a while.
I saw the sign for Dave & Buster's as well. I thought maybe I just wasn't observant and it had been there a while.
Yeah, when I saw the big truck with the sign up front, I wasn't sure whether they were putting it up, or taking it down. Checked the D&B website and it appears it is a new opening. No date on when that will happen though.

There's also an arcade in Circle Center, but that's pretty dead. There's lots of machines there, but everytime I walk by, there's barely any people in there.

saw the dave and busters from the road. pulled back there just to see it under construction. arghhh. oh well. looking at trying circler center area tomorrow.

saw a gameworks in columbus ohio once, kinda like dave and busters. they had like a 3 story hot air ballon shooting something or other game there. was crazy looking. would love to play star blade alpha or star blade delta in the arcade again. haven seen that game in an arcade in years.

will look into the thrift shop place you suggested.

thanks for all the suggestions and keep them coming.

is that circle center the same its always been for years.. I remember going to indy about 20 years ago it was like maill on the first two levels and the top floor was something like an amusement park. games. some little rides (bummer cars ect)

really thinking that was so cool 20 years ago ...

Weber Grill is actually pretty good. Though my favorite restaurant in that near vicinity is right across the street (Bucca!).

Unfortunately, they really toned down the Gameworks from the first 5 years it was open. The arcade was huge, plus they had the mech simulators, if anyone else remembers. They had the full enclosed pods that connected to a whole bunch of other machines (I wanna say 10v10) for a full-scale mech game. It's still a pretty decent arcade, as long as you don't go in expecting all the latest machines.

There is another place on the Southside, about 5 mins south of Greenwood in Franklin called Rascal's Fun Zone. They have 5 go cart tracks (2 of those are for younger kids like 2-5ish), but the 3 "adult" tracks are pretty fun, they have 1 indoor, 1 normal and 1 slick track. They have an average arcade, no really good arcade games but if you have a few kids, it will hold them over. Heres they're website:

Do they still do 10 buck Tuesday's? My friend always kept inviting me to go there and I guess they let you play all day for only $10 every Tuesday, but I never went and my friend doesn't go anymore? Just curious if anyone knew.
Do they still do 10 buck Tuesday's? Just curious if anyone knew.
Yeah, they still have $10 Tuesdays (at least two months ago when I went after one of my classes). The thing with it though, is that if you plan on playing co-op with a friend or head-to-head, you can't do it sharing one card. There's a timer built in which prevents you from swiping the same card before 40 seconds are up, which pretty much locks you out of 2-player games. Business-wise, it's smart, but it's kind of a hassle when you just wanna go there and kill half an hour or so.

Also don't forget about Jillian's downtown for an arcade/sports bar/Dave & Busterish like experience. As far as thrift stores, Value Village also has three other locations. THe one closest to downtown is in Fountain Square. That Value Village is about one block east of the Duck Pin Bowling place on Prospect. There is also a location on 10th street a couple blocks east of Keystone and one 4 or 5 blocks south of 38th street and the Lafayette Square mall on Lafayette. As far as good finds, I've had the best luck with the Fountain Square location followed closely by the 52nd street location someone mentioned above.

There is also another thrift store just to the northeast of the 52nd street location. (Walk across the parking lot and an alley. It is not as good, but if you are there anyway.)

cool to hear about gameworks. sounds like that is the start of today. i cant imagine the 10 dollar unlimited play works with the ticket games does it? if it did then my wife would be overjoyed as well =P

as far as the circle center mall is there a parking garage somewhere? do you hve to pay for parking or get a ticket validated or something?

again thanks for all the suggestions and if you got more keep them coming.

now to decipher some of the thrift store locations. =P
