Indie Royale bundles employ a variable pricing model and last about a week. Most start at $3.99 and the price goes up as people pay the minimum, stays the same as people pay slightly above it, and drops with larger purchases. Games are almost all available on the service Desura, which is the company involved in these bundles, with Steam keys and direct downloads available when possible. A bonus album is also available in each bundle for those who pay above a higher minimum.

I'm walking down the street so I didn't really have time to think about it but I don't think I have any of those and it was 1.99 so I just went fpr it.

IR always gets me to panic but, particularly when there isn't a leak prior telling what games are in it.

Another thing I like about looking at bundles/specials on ITAD is that you can see MSRP (even on Desura) which probably doesn't exactly correspond with repeat-probability, but still gives you an idea.

 
Outpost looks interesting, but I don't think I care about the rest, at least not enough to pay the .80 lunch break tax.

BTW Micy Roll was unlocked in Debut 17 bundle. Micy Roll was in an Indiegala as one of the side bundles...I forget now. Old news of course! I'm barely doing Freedom Friday....I was very busy this weekend, so my bad on that. I should have it up soon though.

CasinoRPG is a MMORPG where you do different things in the Casino empire. It looks like you can mix drinks, build stuff, play slots, and I'm sure lots of other fun activities. This actually looks OK although a bit simple looking. I really wish it was single player only, as it has a lot of stuff, but as an MMORPG....nah. I dislike MMORPGs  for the most part though so i'm biased. If it was single player I would go for it, but as it is..no. PASS!

Cubus Puram is a puzzle game where you have an area you need to traverse and you have to touch each tile enough times until they become the color of the level. It's a pretty common puzzle game, as I played The Floor is Lava on my phone, and it makes for a pretty fun game. This one is retro looking for sure. It could be fun, but I'll pass as I already have a similar game on my phone. PASS!

Star Hunter Wolf is a Unity engine top down space shooter game. It does feature six different game modes. I'm not sure if there is power ups or anything like that. It looks like someone's basic Unity shooter game. Doesn't look terrible, but I'm not much into a game that looks like someone's basic example game. PASS!

Tower Escape Madness! is some type of action game in the RPGMaker VX Ace engine. Basically you have 2 minutes to escape the castle and it seems the rooms are filled with traps. So you go around Chip's Challenge style and try to exit the rooms while collecting toys as Santa I think. It looks the best out of this weeks games but heck I mainly would like to play Chip's Challenge instead. It looked pretty chaotic from the game video. So-so but I'll pass. PASS!

No games I'm playing this week as most of these look too basic, or are just too similar to games I've already played. CasinoRPG looks cool, but MMORPGs are just not my thing. Could be fun for online game fans though. If you play any of the games leave feedback below!

Awww, I really like the idea of that casino game but yeah like you I am (mostly) not so much an MMORPG person. I mean I've had my moments but not really looking to get sucked into one again, especially for an indie game. If it were a single player game like Kairosoft or something like that I'd be all over that.

I'm not much of a MMORPG player either so passed on CasinoRPG as well. It was nice to see your old self in the comments section though. :D

Sweet, I'll be selling Golden Jubilee keys for 25 cents whatever the current price of the bundle is at its highest point or whatever random asinine price point I decide based on uranus in retrograde aligned with the big dipper.

this sadly is probably how they actually price their crap.

I liked it better when their pricing structure was a formula derived by how many corn kernels they had counted in their morning movement.

If you're still having trouble, just change your browser user agent to desura, worked for me when I had the same problem

 
So a couple of things. Ostrich Island is the surprise game for the current Rehashed Crap bundle since I know you are were waiting for that.

Also, since I guess this is the default place to talk about Desura because why not, the new layout just made it WAY easier to add free games to your account. You can do it with one click now.

I just went through and clicked off on all of them to add them to my collection. Yes it was a pain but you only have to do it once and then I can check all free games later by release date from after The Idiot, which somehow I think I will remember that name.

You can also check for temporarily free games by clicking choosing the price Free box then clicking On Sale. There's only 5 right now though I think some of them have been 'on sale' for free forever and a day.

Anyhow, even though most are crap I just added them all because it's easy enough to do now, I can always remove them later if I really want and there's a 1% chance it might go paid and get Steam keys like Hangeki so what the hell, right?

Oh, one other thing, 9 Dragons and Blaze are free but will only let you add them if you are 'in Europe'. It's super easy to just go into your Desura profile, pick some country in Europe, save, add the game to your collection, then change your country back. But those games are MMOs and they may still not let you in if you are coming from a non Euro IP if you actually go to try to play them. It's up to you if it's worth adding them but I just did anyway.

Yes I noticed that. It doesn't keep track of if a free game is already on your account or not, and a bunch of them surely were for me, so I just added them all and will have to keep track myself each time of what the most recent game was the last time I went through and added them all.

It's not perfect but it's better than the install then cancel method which was rather obnoxious.

 
Any word on the next bundle? I'm 1/6 for the last few bundles so I'm starting to not care, but I know the minute I don't pay attention they will put together a decent enough bundle to warrant a couple bucks from me.

Guarda Castelos Upgrade is a Game Maker Studio defend the castle game. It also looks like someone's first game. It's a very basic move side to side and shot arrows at bad guys. Nothing fancy at all. It looks cheap and from a different era of gaming. PASS!

Kingdom Sostis is a Unity engine tower defense game. It has pretty basic graphics but they look simple and crisp at least. I've played so many tower defense games, and this one looks like it doesn't stand out. PASS!

Last Sam Standing is another Game Maker Studio game. This one is a fan game of Serious Sam. It seems you go to the left and shoot some monsters and suicide bombers and other game enemies and you just keep blasting and moving and some other guys can join you and you can blast and shoot some more. It's another basic game and is probably meant for fans only. I'm a fan but this doesn't look that great. PASS!

The Wizard's Lair is a rougelike game, though it looks like an actual rogue game, and has a little basic outline guy as your main character. You go around killing stuff and doing fun rogue stuff i'm guessing. It looks a bit basic, but could be fun. What I don't like is the awful sword swinging noise. In the trailer alone it got to me. Would have to mute it in game. I'm a fan of trying any rogue game so i'll try it. It really doesn't look amazing, but it could be fun. PLAY!

So 1 play and 3 passes for me this week. Another week of too many basic games. Those are alright for showing off to friends or doing demo programs, but those really shouldn't be on any store even if it's free. I will try out the rogue game and hope it's fun and likely give my feedback.

If anyone plays any of these games leave impressions and feedback below!

 
Debut 18 is out now incase anyone cares.  Typing on my phone is annoying, so no list from me.  Started at $2, at $2.25 now.

 
Wow all those games look really generic and boring. Going to skip another one I guess. Drew and the Floating Labyrinth looks mildly interesting I suppose. Might have bit for the starting price but by the time I saw it the price jumped up to $2.34. Increasing your asking price while I'm waffling over the starting price is not really the way to earn my business.

 
For those of you who have bought games that are greenlight through indieroyale (games without steam keys), about what percentage of those would you say you actually get a steam key from?

99%. I think only 1 or 2 didn't give keys. All I can remember is that Rockin Android didn't give keys for Suguri.

Unofficially, I'd have to say it's pretty low. I know some of them fare better than others, but I've got a couple with none at all. I'm finding it easier and easier to ignore these -- and not just the ones that IR sells -- unless there's something I think will be really interesting.

Chances are anything that gets greenlit will find its way into another bundle at some point.

I think the only game we expected to get a key for, and thusfar haven't, is McDroid.

I seem to remember the developer getting a little grumpy about it. That said, it was in a bundle so long ago I'm not sure if he preceded all of the debut bundle nonsense.

Some IR debuts (no. 8, for example) have been great value.

Edit: Well I never. McDroid keys are up on IR for people who bought The Debut Bundle 1.

Well yeah, I thought that much was obvious. He never asked the percentage of games that get greenlit.. he asked how many greenlit games provide steam keys from IR. However, a few IR bundles do have a high rate of greenlit games. I have no idea how this will work in the future since Valve may have changed the way they greenlight games recently.

I didn't get that from what he said, but possibly because of the question I had in my own mind when reading it:

"What's the real value of these greenlight bundles?"

If it wasn't something everyone was asking themselves before, it's definitely a point to be considered now that Valve seems to have constricted the flow of greenlight games, often leapfrogging high vote games.

If I pay a couple of bucks for a greenlight bundle and only one gets in -- I consider that a bust. I don't really want to be in the business of paying 2 dollars for one game in a group -- spin the wheel, wheee!! You really almost have to be lucky with your purchase because some IR greenlight bundle are 100% and some are 0%. Those zero-producers really burn my biscuits.
