Apparently the issue with some people not getting the game showing up in their account is specific to Paypal. If you haven't bought yet and can pay with another source that is probably best for the time being. If you did already buy it with Paypal then put a request into support but keep checking back because some people are having it show up after several hours.

I paid with paypal, received the receipt right away from Paypal, about 30 minutes later, received the Indiegamestand confirmation. Sometimes, it's better to be lucky than good. :bouncy:

It was here this morning. It's not like I was going to play it last night. I was busy putting off sleep way too long playing The Secret World.
This was in the latest Groupees Greenlight bundle I think.
Not the most recent one, because I bought everything in that bundle and I don't own Vitrum. But it has been in one of the past bundles. Hell if I know which one. They're all starting to run together at this point.

EDIT: ah, it was BAB4.
QRTH-PHYL looks interesting, has anyone tried it?
I got QRTH-PHYL in a Hermit Games bundle a while back, and I highly recommend it. It's basically Snake but instead of a 2-D plane you slither around on the outside of a cube. Collect enough dots and a hole opens up in the cube allowing you to enter it. Once inside the cube you can fly around in 3 dimensions collecting more dots. Get enough and you can pop back to the outside of the cube. Repeat until you die.

It's different every time you play it, and how you do on one playthrough can affect characteristics of the next playthrough, though the changes aren't explicit. I think it might get more difficult the better you do. There's also some sort of "corruption" percentage that keeps ticking upward the more you play, but I'm not sure what it does.

The overall aesthetic is what's most appealing about it to me. It's got a neon/futuristic vibe while staying retro at the same time, and bleepy chiptune music. I'd probably play any game that looks and sounds similar.

The gameplay's solid but a bit simple--but that's the nature of Snake. I'd definitely pick it up for a quarter or a dollar if you're hoping for Steam key someday. It's a great game to play every once in a while.

New game is 3079. I already have it, but I grabbed it for the previous games, 3059 and 3069 (the super sexy prequel; no, not really).

Spoderman sez those are freeware?

This reminds me, I got 3079 in the Indie Royale Alpha bundle and I still haven't played it yet. It was the primary reason that I bought that bundle too.

I got something else that I'm working on right now, but 3079 is getting bumped to the top of my backlog.

Well hurry up!

I'd like some feedback before this deal closes.

I got really annoying microstutter when I tried to play it, never could figure out how to fix it so I gave up playing it (I have it on GG).

Psyringe posted this on GOG, worth reading if you're interested in buying 3079:
People interested in this game should probably be aware that the game has a bit of a troubled history. I followed development for a while - the game was in alpha for a long time, and there were great plans, but then the project was suddenly declared "finished", and the developer moved on to "3089", the sequel that got a kickstarter. I've never seen a game go from "alpha" to "finished" so fast.

It looks a bit as if the dev abandoned this project to jump on the kickstarter bandwagon, but the official explanation is apparently "the engine wasn't capable of handling the things that were planned, so I'm starting from scratch with a new one." It's probably a bit of both. The game _should_ be playable anyway, but I've only tried it for a few minutes, so I can't really tell.
Basically, this is the "final" version. It quickly went from alpha, to final. Not sure if there was a beta in between.

Also, 3079 was caught stealing some textures from Duke Nukem 3D. The dev claimed that his "texture artist" was the one that stole them, and that he wasn't aware at the time. The dev doesn't exactly have the best rep..
Updated OP for new deal: Adventure Apes and the Mayan Mystery
Was part of the Indie Royale Stuffing bundle back in November. So if you bought that bundle, you already own it.

Oh and I never did get around to playing 3079. Sorry gilby.

Ah, well. Such is life.

A jousting game? I don't believe that I've ever played a game which was primarily devoted to jousting. Surely it's worth a buck to experience that.
anybody played it yet? Game seems nice, but feedback would be appreciated :)
What is this play thing you speak of? ;)

Well there is a demo (via Desura; you can play for the first 15 minutes free), but beyond that there are some reviews on Desura.

http://www.desura.com/games/pixelry/reviews

Most are of the one sentence variety but if you flip through a few actually took the time to write out their thoughts. On the whole, it seems to be reviewing fairly positive.

Interesting. That RPS article says that this version is just an alpha version, though quite playable, and that everyone who gets it now will get the final version later. Apparently, they are doing a Kickstarter soon. I'm sure it will be $15 or so donation to get a digital download of the final game via Kickstarter since that seems to be the going rate there and $5 just gets you a thanks or something like that usually.

Seems like a deal to get in on it now.

Yup, you don't even have to actually like the game - you can just bask in the CAG glow of having "gotten in early" when the $15 Kickstarter is launched! :)

Yeah. Be like "Idiots! I got this for $1.26!!!!

I saw Alpha and wondered how far along it was.

For the Desura reviews though, I always take them with a grain of salt. Almost every game on there gets high marks.

I have a full plate of gaming for the weekend, but will try to get in some pixel ponies and post my thoughts.

Damn it. I got distracted last night trying to decide what to use CAGROCKS on, and didn't buy this. Now it's up to $1.45.

The horror.

With the soundtrack, even.

I'll eat two extra packages of ramen in your honor tonight. You can eat through me.

Without context, that sounded vaguely... disturbing.

So who bought this and beat the average? I only went in for a buck because I'm not usually all that big on game soundtracks.

However, when I downloaded the DRM-Free version to give it a try, I noticed that much (perhaps even all) of the music appears in a folder named "Snd". Anybody who BTA and has access to the soundtrack wanna compare the soundtrack download and the contents of the Snd folder?

Fox's Pixelry First Thoughts from the Den:

This game feels incomplete. Not in the "well duh, it's an alpha" way, but in the they cut stuff out probably due to limited budget/man hours.

It's really more like a collection of mini games than an RPG. Or maybe I missed something? You don't walk anywhere or interact with anyone. You have a map with different locations, you choose a location and do a mini game there. Choose the barn to race or edit your horse. Choose the tavern to joust. Choose the house to the change your family seal/crest/emblem.

I actually like what's there, but not sure if it's enough to keep my attention.

I just checked and it's the same thing so far as I can tell but the soundtrack download has all the tracks named. Also you get wallpapers. :p

The bonuses aren't anything I'd go out of my way for but when I bought it the average was $1.09 so it was no big thing to throw another dime at it. But if you're not looking to pay much for it and the average is way above $1 don't feel like you're missing out if you pass on the beat the average content.

Dang it.

You paid a dime.

I paid a whole quarter.

That's a huge difference!

Alright. Thanks for checking man.

I probably would have paid an extra $0.10-25 for the soundtrack, but I wasn't gonna pay an extra $0.50 for it. After playing the game a bit, I think I made the right choice. The music is pleasant enough, but it's not the sort of thing that I'd ever fire up outside of the game.

On the whole, I agree with Fox's assessment of the game. Basically just a collection of mini games. I had fun with them, but it didn't last too long. I was done playing after 40 minutes. I'd say it's worth a buck, but not too much more.
