iPhone OS 3.0 & 3GS Disscussion

any chance of Verizon getting iPhone in a year or two?

I got the 64 GB touch and it's so fucking awesome... I want a 64GB iPhone but will never go to AT&T

I got the a black 32GB 3gs last Friday. This phone is simply bad-ass. Before I ended up getting it I spent several weeks researching and watching youtube videos and after using it for several days I can safely say that it's money well spent. The web browser is the best I've ever used on a mobile device, great set of apps that suit your needs, and now that google sync has gmail push support I get my emails instantly. Had to leave Sprint after 8 years but it's like everywhere I went was a dead spot whereas with the iPhone coverage has been solid (considering all the bad stuff I've read about AT&T's service). Mine came with with OS 3.1 installed so no jailbreaking for me. I thought I was going to have a hard time with the on screen keyboard ( I've been using Win Mo for almost 4 years now so I was used to using the stylus) but I have no problems typing for the most part. Love this phone....highly recommended.

Depending on your phone you can downgrade to 3.0 and then jailbreak (do a google search) or just wait for the full 3.1 jailbreak to be releaed (it should hopefull be out soon).

it is the same phone just faster and with a few extras. All of the capabilities my 3G has jailbroken the 3GS still cant do.

Now that I have had it for a bit, I can say...best phone I’ve ever owned. I had sprint for 6 years and although the service was ok, their phones just never compared to what ever other service had to offer. Last two years I found my self trying to get a phone "like" the iphone. There isn’t one. I had the HTC touch pro and the instinct, neither are even in the same ball park. Several friends have the verizon Storm, it too fails to compare. Most of them say the same thing though, the only reason they will not get the iphone is because the service with att sucks. Having a work phone with att, I can attest that it isnt so great but we will see in the long haul I guess. Now what would have been great is if the iphone was available on all service providers. Looks like apple would make so much more money that way. I would have kept sprint in that case.
 
FYI, The Storm is a big fat FAIL. Anyway, I have Sprint right now and it's a fail too, but at least it's the best cheapest rape in the ass plan around. AT&T would be THAT MUCH worse. If the iPhone did ever come there I wouldn't mind it (Not because it's Apple...). I really doubt that will ever happen much less it getting to Verizon.
 
Had the phone a couple months now and my overall impression is Apple really needs to get their heads out of their asses and sacrifice a little form for some function. Soft keyboard, battery, heat.. all sucks.. make the thing thicker, include a physical keyboard and a user-replaceable battery (or a better internal battery)... jesus christ... they're so damn stubborn.

Mostly satisfied with the software, though there are quite a few things I'd change it's the best phone OS I've experienced. I wish they'd lighten the fuck up & let users have more control over the product they paid for, though.

Apple makes me an angry person. :(
 
I'm sorry to say you can complain all you want til you're blue in the face. Apple won't do what you or anyone else wants. If they see it worth while they'll do it, but other than that you get what they give you. You also have to bend over for Steve Jobs too...

It pains me to be defending Apple but... if you think the iPhone's battery is bad. Check out the Palm Pre's. Ugh... They have this battery though. LOL xD

Have you USED it before? It's like take everything about a touch screen that's user friendly and reverse it. Also, really... ? Press on the screen? There's an accident just waiting to happen.

I guess it all depends where you live. At&t has been phenomenal for me but then again I live right near NYC so that obviously has something to do with it those living in the middle of nowhere I'm sure they have troubles.

at&t gave the time of "late morning Pacific time" so I can only guess it's going to be around 10-11 PST, 1-2 EST which blows.

mms update is up... so far it says Cellular Data Network not available even though I have full bars haha Network is fucked.
 
it's up and running everywhere but NYC apparently. I have the function available but it keeps giving me an error when sending.

and yes you need to upgrade to 3.1 for MMS.

yeah, SBSettings is accessable almost anytime without having to back out of whatever you are doing. If i am surfing around in 3G and need to switch over to WiFi I just swipe across the top of the screen and the SBSettings menu scrolls down. I hit the wifi button and then the "x" to back out and im done. SBSettings is integrated into the OS for instant access unlike BossPrefs which you have to navigate to.
 
no problem with mms. I'll give it a little time Nd go back to jb soon. I wouldn't are about jb but I kovethe tweaks and customization options. no more TNG theme =(
 
actually after reading manthing's post i updated to 3.1 and got mms patch.
Sent a mms without issue.

I am pretty happy w/ 3.1, genius mixes are f'n awesome.

jailbroken 3.0 3G, i cant get an mms out to save my life!

ipcc 5.5, just dont work. guess ill try out 3.1 and see if by some miracle it works.

If you have text messaging in your plan you can use MMS.
