Is there an alarm clock that will allow you to play mp3 files/your own music?

CAGiversary!
Anybody know if such an alarm clock exists where you can simply plug in either memory stick/SD card or your Ipod/MP3 player and have it play a set song to wake you up?

I did some searching around, but haven't really seen anything that seems to fit the bill.

There are tons of docks that do that for the iPod specifically. Also, why not just get a CD alarm clock, and burn a cd-rw with the songs you want to wake up to?

I have a 5th (video) Gen ipod that has an alarm feature. So I figure all the new non-shuffle ipods have it now. I'm not sure about the older ones.

But I think just hook the ipod to a dock/speaks and let the ipod do the work.

I guess it would probably be cheaper to go the CD Alarm clock route. I just felt that it would be easier with simply hooking up my Ipod, therefore I wouldn't need to have several cds burned. Any good dock someone can recommend? Something solid but relatively cheap?

I have a 60 GB Ipod Video Classic.....I know it has an alarm feature, but I don't think you can set it up to use a specific song/album to wake you up. I think all it does is a beep a little. At least I've never figured out how, if possible, you could set up a song for it.

Any dock you'd recommend? How is the Logitech dock? I remember seeing it on sale during BF at BB and I'm sure I can get my friend to give me his for cheap.

Sry, I'm note sure how the ipod alarm feature works. And I don't actually have an ipod dock. I usually just hook up my ipod to my 360 and play my music that way.

I've been thinking about picking this guy up:

But the damn thing is only sold at Bestbuy and it has never gone on sale. And you can't even use those 12% off coupons on it. Believe me I tried. I'm just waiting till they put it out in wider release or come out with a better version 2 revision.

EDIT: Holy crap Amazon now sells it. They have it for $235. Damn now I'm temped to buy it.

I made my own alarm clock which can stream music and internet radio from a computer. Shit was tight. If I still have it, I will send it to you.

That's another new thing I hadn't known about, I hadn't known that the 360 can now read music off of the Ipods. I remember they used to not be able to. Is this for all Ipods (or at least, hopefully, the 60 GB/Classics)? Can you make an alarm clock through the 360 with your Ipod?

I have the same iPod, and the iHome I have does that.

I generally don't use it as an alarm clock - I need the old fashioned annoying beeping, myself.

While on vacation, I used my Creative Zen Vision:M, with speakers, as an alarm clock. When it went off the next morning, it apparently extended my sleep, as I woke up, about an hour behind schedule, with it still playing in the background. It could be because I was exhausted from the day before, but for what-ever reason it didn't work. Needless to say, I now avoid using my MP3 player as an alarm cock.

I have this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/iPod-Dock-Charg...ryZ84082QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

As in, the exact same one.

It has inserts to fit almost all iPods (possibly even the Touch), and I got it for about the same price. It does what you're looking for, and it also has a aux input that I have my Zune (via the Zune dock) hooked into. You won't get any alarm features via the auz (AFAIK), but it will when you have an iPod docked in it. It also charges the iPod.

Best $20 gadget I've ever bought.

Oh yeah - it also came with a small remote that was full-function. I lost the remote for about six months, and just recently found it. Good sound, too.
