The following thread are for niche-based Japanese video games by smaller companies such as Atlus, NIS America, AKSYS, XSEED, D3 Publisher, KOEI/TECMO, SNK Playmore, Ignition, Natsume or any sweet deals for those who are passionate and hardcore about Japanese video games even from the bigger companies like SquareEnix, Sega, Bandai Namco, etc.

But to avoid any messiness of links everywhere, we'll focus on games within the last 2-3 years as opposed to the last five-ten. [although, if you do see older titles on sale, please post them regardless].

The theme of these deals are Japanese video games distributed in the US by the smaller niche companies. The thread is literally for those who love Japanese games.
There will be a few Korean games that you may see on this list, such as the "DJ Max" games.

If you see a deal, please post!

NOTE: Please check the most recent page for the latest deals.

And I want to thank many of you in advance who submit their deals and their support!!!

Can someone post the link for the Hyperdimension Neptunia LE that came back in stock at a cheaper price? And what was the price for it? I'm going to stalk that page until I get it now.
It was on Amazon from Iffy Store...priced at $57.99.

Managed to get one when it still showed 2 in stock then gone in just under a minute or so. Shows shipping now...hope it arrives safe and undamaged. I have high hopes Amazon.... =)

Also received my FF Curtain Call CE today...came in a huge box and in perfect shape! Whew...good thing DigitalRiver didn't mess up, first time ordering with them and glad they actually pushed through. =)

On Neptunia...just got an email saying that it shipped already via 2 day shipping with the tracking info! =)

If you guys are interested in certain digital PSP games, they may be removed from PSN. ZHP was removed last month.
That's because an exploit was released for it for the Vita. That always happens after an exploit release. When it happens you can't download the games, either, so having purchased it wouldn't have helped. They all come back after the exploit is patched out, though. And just a heads-up; exploits were just announced for another ~50 games, so expect to see quite a few PSP/PS1 games go missing for a bit.

Is there a list anywhere?

The games are only temporary removed. Once the exploit been patch they will come back.
This. In order to prevent people from using the exploit, Sony takes the game off PSN. Without being able to download the game, people can't get the exploit. Then Sony releases a Vita firmware update, and you have to update to connect to PSN, but the update includes a patch for the exploit.

Basically the only way to get the exploit is to download the game between its announcement and when Sony gets the game removed from PSN. That window is usually only 2-3 days at most. After that you might be waiting a year for the next exploit. With what happened this time (described in my second link), it could be a long, long time for another exploit to come out.

This reminds me that I need to get Black Rock Shooter in case it ever gets removed for some reason, and since it's digital only. Has it ever gone on sale?

What kind of exploit is it? A way to get the game for free?

(Mods, I'm not asking how to get it for free. Just wondering what the exp- ah, I'm wasting my breath. This place seems to get modded as frequently as a college frat house.)

I know they're only temporarily removed.  Still worth it to try if you want to mess around with homebrew, or have an extra Vita around to mess with.  It's currently worth it for me as it's much more comfortable to play Type-0 and Valkyria Chronicles 3 (both English patched) and Mega Man Legends 2 on Vita.

i wonder who did the CE on the FF game

Just find it odd the others who ordered during the same time shipped this morning. Unless its just a location based thing
they only do shipments until a certain time then anything after it gets moved to monday I've heard and shipping now is just them putting it on a pallet. But yes sunday delivery seems odd as most don't do so. Usps and amazon being exceptions but that's limited testing areas from what I hear.

Yeah, translations and games not on PSN are why I went for it. And I do have an extra Vita, which helps. Those two games, La Pucelle: Ragnorak, Tales of Heroes, FF Anthology 1 and 2 (not on US PSN), and some of the others at the bottom of this list: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=464557

My Rebirth LE has been in "Shipping Now" status for atleast the past 5-6 hours. Is that normal?
I've had items sit in the "Shipping Now" status from a Friday afternoon all the way until Monday morning and then had the package arrive on Monday or Tuesday. So, it happens. I've even had stuff go from "Shipping Now" back to "Not Yet Shipped" and then seen it arrive a couple days later. Amazon is pretty good with updating the site, but crazier things have happened than being stuck at shipping now for a few hours.

I got my LE copy of Fairy Fencer F in around noon (CST) in perfect condition from NISA. Of course, NISA always seems to do well with the packing. I don't have a pic per usual, but they used the same sturdy, green, bubble wrap and set the beanie on top for added padding.

Same here.

Got mine today. Honestly, the game doesn't look that great, but it looks like it has some redeemable qualities. Certainly better than Time and Eternity.

I'm a fan of the Hyperdimension games, so I'm quite excited for this one. Just need to finish Tales of Xiliia first.

So...no Pics or unboxing of the Fairy Fencer F LE? C'mon guys, its nice for confirms, but I'd like to see it with my (and others) eyes for themselves, but I can wait. :3

This one isn't mine, but a friend who took pictures of his. Just noticed he didn't reverse his artwork on the game. :( The otherside of the artwork has the same character as the beanie. Mine is just sitting on the shelf until I get a chance to play it. Never at the current rate with my backlog. Took me 39 hours to clear Neptunia and now I'm doing a NG+ so it'll be a while.

Beat Danganronpa 2 this weekend, and loved it. Really glad I stuck with the Japanese voices for the playthrough, because two minutes into Island Life with English voices made me wish I had a gun.

Same. Nisa has not let me down very often. Waiting for my theatrhythm to arrive. Hoping digital river makes it two in a row with good packing.

I didn't realize that ordering Ar no Surge and Fairy Fencer F at the same time from NISA meant that they'd combine the items into one shipment. Now I've got to wait until next week before I can play FFF. Arrgghh. Oh well.

That's strange of them to do that, but it makes sense seeing I bought mine separately and they split them up.

Nisa in general tends to ship when all items are ready, if you qualify for free shipping anyways just split up orders in the future :p

I also got through Danganronpa 2 over the weekend. I also managed to get through Island Life once while constructing all the assignments. I'm taking a break after that. Unlocking all of the different characters in Island Life can be a bit of a chore, and I have some other things I need to get to this week. Really enjoyed the main game, though. More of the surreal wackiness that I love about these titles.

I usually don't mind dubs, but listening to some of the voice clips made me cringe so much, especially Bryce as Nagito. I don't get how that guy gets work, his voice is so annoying.

I wish I could trade him for Dave Wittenberg, Crispin Freeman, Steve Blum, or Troy Baker.
