I understand that the circular is not effective in NYC stores, but this doesn't applt to Kmartgamer deals, right? Going to Manhattan for vacation this week, and I hope to get in on the LA Noire deal. I want to get Twilight Princess for Wii if the Wii Selects are out on the floor.

If you like your sci-fi shooters, Metro 2033 and Singularity are great. But yea, you should double check the list.

A bunch of extremely positive reviews out for La Noire so far, I guess I might rent it eventually, doesn't seem like my type of game.
 
So this post is NOT meant to start a fanboy console war but I am still trying to decide whether to go with the 360 or PS3 version of LA Noire. I mainly game on the 360 (achievements/controller reasons) but I have a PS3 for many of the awesome exclusives. I know the 360 is 3 disks vs. 1 on the PS3 and that is not a big deal for me but I do know the PS3 comes with an additional crime (once the PSN store is up again). My main question is performance. I read on Giant Bomb that PS3 was better but that there is no reason not to get it on the 360 (mainly framerate drops and jagged shadows at times) if you game with that. I can't read ALL the reviews out there so if anyone else came across a comparison I would love to hear what another reviewer had to say about this. PLease no fanboy stuff, I am looking for some honest information before I buy tomorrow.

Concensus is PS3 is better for the reasons you mentioned.

Is kmart carrying going to be carrying the PC version of Duke Nukam Forevar? And if so will the deals for the console versions carry to the pc?

Also any plans to run kinect deals comparable to bestbuy/amazon? $138 plus free dance central is pretty good, i might give in and try kinect since child of eden is coming soon.

I am in the same exact situation and based on the fact that it is single player (I prefer multiplayer on 360) and the extra content, that I will go PS3.

Hopefully all goes well. I'm a little worried for you since I dont know that you've done a deal like this before (getting a coupon and a free game with it).

As long as everything goes according to plan though it should sell really well I'd imagine. Very good reviews and a killer deal should make for some good sales.

Thanks for the info/opinion. My heart is telling me to go with PS3 on this but my 8000 MS points are telling me to stick with the 360 since if I like the game I most likely will want to try the DLC.:) Oh well, I am going to decide when I get there unless I read/see something tonight to change my mind.
 
I just like achievements and the controller. Unless it's exclusive I buy it for 360. Anytime I've deviated from that I find the game floats into the backlog very quickly and goes unplayed. That's just me though.
 
Hoping I can find a Greatest Hits (or whatever Nintendo calls it) Zelda tomorrow to go with LA Noire, then pick up Tomb Raider trilogy and use my Portal 2 coupons.

5 games for 30 dollars plus tax sounds pretty damn good :D (though I have finished TR Underworld already)

In preparation for my release day purchase of L.A. Noire, I tried to follow the directions for my SYWR account in post #3 and cannot find the contact preferences in the "more about me" section as described.. Has something changed since the post was made? My e-mail address has been entered, but I see nothing about receiving e-mails from K-Mart, Sears, etc. Am I good to go, or does the post need revising?

It does look like it changed. If you're talking about opting in to the emails, go to Kmart.com and log in, then click on the "My profile" link toward the top left under your name, then click on the Email Preferences tab.

It's best to sign up online - you won't get a card right away but you can just give them your phone number which you used to sign up online and it will work the same as the card as far as being eligible for the coupon/free game is concerned!
 
there isnt piss for games 19.99 at my kmart...at least not any good ones. Already looked today. They dont have much of anything really.

It's a limit two per member, but separate transactions are needed to get two bonuses.

I think he said a $15 coupon + Infamous 1 for free was what he was working on? Either way I think we also agreed that deal was bleh. Hopefully this changes it lol.

Where is this game listed on the giant mega list because while I might be blind I'm having a hard time finding it. If it is one the the 19.99 games I will totally move Tri to my number one spot for choices in software.
 
Just completed a survey from K-Mart concerning SYWR. Never do these but felt like you deserve it.

Force fed them as much positive statements as I could concerning the electronics deals and coupons and how they got me into the store.

Not sure where it is in the list, but I did purchase Tri last week and it rang up as $19.9X. This was the game only (thought when it came out it included a controller).
 
For those on the fence, L.A. Noire is getting some love in the initial reviews:

Metacritic scores

Xbox 360 = 92 (based on 20 critic reviews so far, including 100's from Giant Bomb & others)

PS3 = 91 (based on 22 critic reviews so far, including 100's from Giant Bomb & others)

For those contemplating which version to get Giant Bomb wrote the following in their review, "Having spent a lot of time with both versions of L.A. Noire, the PlayStation 3 game is the clear-cut winner. Both versions of the game look fantastic, but there were a few instances of painful frame rate drops and objects drawing in too slowly on the Xbox that didn't exist on the PS3. Also, the shadows look a bit more jagged. This is splitting hairs since, both games look good enough that you should just get the one on the platform you prefer, though the PS3 also has the added benefit of being on a single disc to the Xbox's three, and includes an exclusive downloadable case (which I didn't get to try, and you probably won't be able to play either until the PlayStation Store is back online)."

Read a few reviews myself and 360 version has some technical issues that the PS3 version doesnt, no disc swapping and extra content, I'd get the PS3 version.
