Up until they redid their video game stock a few months ago mine had a GameCube copy of Twilight Princess for $50.

Zelda: TP on Gamecube was clearanced to $14.99 about three or four weeks prior to Little Big Planet coming out on PSP. I picked it up last holiday season for $15. You should've had them scan it.

People. Seriously. This is retail. If you're curious on a price, stop being a braindead consumer and ask them to check the price on an item.

Thanks for the info, but no ps3 games at all? Does anyone know if the GTA IV Complete for the ps3 will still be $19.99 this week? Missed it due to vacation =(
 
I've become so spoiled by Kmart, if I don't have a coupon nothing seems worth it. lol

Can't wait to see myself sweep back onto it.

I bought it for $50 at Kmart a few weeks ago when they had the $15 coupon for 39.99 software for the headset. I'm assuming that would be the price everywhere.

I found a random GC copy of Twilight Princess at Kmart two months ago for $5. It had randomly appeared out of the ether, and I scooped it right up.

Hope your vacation was a good one, I imagine it's well earned after that Q4 madness. But at least it means 2011 looks hopeful.

Is there any update on the status of carrying Okamiden or Ghost Trick? :bouncy:

there werent any good game promos the past 2 weeks so I spente $110 on PSN points card lol kinda disastrous but at the same time not lol
 
Hrmph. I put a red Wii on layaway on November 8th and paid it off on November 18th. I entered my final layaway recipt in the beginning of December since I was still without my points. It is now January 3rd and I still haven't got my 50,000 bonus points. When do I start to panic? :)
 
Josh, is there any way that you can confirm if a specific store will receive Collector's Editions of certain titles (specifically the LittleBigPlanet 2 Collector's Edition)? If so, can you tell me how many copies? If this is possible, my local store number is 7043 (Rock Hill, SC). If my local store won't be receiving any copies of the CE, is there any chance that pre-ordering on K-Mart's website might include an equivalent coupon or credit in the near future? Thank you in advance for any info you have.
 
io - you could always grab a $50 psn card. pac man ds, dead nation, joe danger, plus something else... more gaming goodness in that list than any $60 game if you ask me, and that's just the first couple games that popped into my head.

Let me save you the trouble... Order LBP 2 CE elsewhere and you'll thank me. K-mart is going to have the LBP 2 CE, but it's like 1 0r 2 copies per store. If you're the only shopper in your area, then you're set. Trust me, forget about the gaming coupons, if a casual gamer sees the LBP2 CE, he/she will buy it even w/o the gaming coupon knowledge.

P.S. We all want to use the existing gaming coupons on LBP2 CE, you're not the only one. Which makes the LBP2 CE even harder to get in K-mart.

Its even less than that. Some stores won't even get any copies of the LE. I believe the number was 800 per the chain.

In all seriousness, are the 'fitness' games the only ones on sale? Much like irish, i'm sitting on some coupons about to expire, and can't really find anything to fit the bill right now. Egads. I was hoping to ride this specific train up until video games or these promotions ceased to exist, but it now seems that i'll be unable to do so and there's going to be a period where there are zero coupons in my posession.

Also, is there any possibility I can direct an LBP2 CE my way? I know there aren't many, hence the question.
 
will there be any deals in DC Universe online, which is supposed
to come out 1/11, for the ps3 and pc?

They got that many because CEs don't sell. They're not all going to vanish at opening time.
 
I'm simply trying to be a good CAG and get the CE at the best price currently available. That's why I'm interested in finding out what Josh can tell me about my local store. I have kept an eye on all of the major retailers and K-Mart is the only one with a deal. I have even considered waiting around, gambling on the CE not being a hit. I'd rather give K-Mart my business and get it at launch, encouraging the continuation of what I'm sure we all see as an aggressive and competitive series of deals of late. If I can't get confirmation, I'll just have to make other arrangements.
 
So I guess nothing was ever worked out with Capcom for a coupon on Ghost Trick? I was hoping for a coupon deal, but it looks like I'll have to go with Amazon on this one.

I disagree when it comes to this particular CE. We'll see. I think the embargo is up tomorrow so unless the reviews are bad for whatever reason I think it will be gone within a couple days from Kmart shelves.

It's got a lot of appeal that other CEs just dont have. The game itself is one that appeals to almost the entire spectrum of gamers. That plus it's a good value to begin with. Which also means resellers may be looking to get in on this as well.

Closing the fiscal year is always a challenge; everything gets really conservative.

We'll be supporting Ghost Trick in select stores but we won't have an offer.

I tried to make LW a sale on games that weren't neccessarily "front of mind"

I'm definitely trying. There is an internal issue for Jan. that I am working to resolve concerning coupons that may not be fixed in time for 1/11.

If there is one month out of the year that I have to be conservative with, it is January. Retail fiscal calendars start fresh again Jan. 30th.

Only stock boy has the keys to this system. I am working with him to streamline the request process.

So for all of us with large amounts of gaming coupons that are expiring in Jan (due to the awesome deals of the past), are there going to be any 'good' deals or should I go out and grab stuff now since it appears that the stores never restock?

We actually mark our good at the same time as the rest of the retailers.

Retailers mark down video games when the publishers offer something called price protection. Basically, say I buy 10000 pieces of a certain game at $50 bucks and retail it for $59.99 ($500k investment) and the vendor decides to accellerate the sell through of this game a few months down the road and mark it down to $39.99. Let's say the new cost is $32.00 on all new inbound orders to make it worth replenishing. Well, in order to mark the existing inventory down the vendor will price protect my initial investment. $50 minus $32 x 10,000 equals $180k in subsidy that will allow me to financially mark down our inventory.

99% of the time this is a national markdown that occurs for every retailer. This isn't to say that clearance doesn't exist, it does, but dropping MSRP only is usually across the board. If we are out of whack on a certain item at a certain store, it is either a store issue or something wrong with the system.

Hmmm, not this particular CE... LBP2 CE comes with tons of cool "exclusive" sackboy sackgirl costumes. Toy alien, Tron, Gonzo, Racket and Clank :) It's enough to warrant as a "must have." If you put the bonus costumes together, it's at least $20. Then there's that bonus sakcboy plush too. The book/game end is cool too, but a lot of people doubt about the material (probably good enough as game end, but not sure about bookends).

Like I've said, the LBP2 CE is the GotY edition that you can buy early :)

um hello the LBP2 CE will be $80.. so what you just said with all the costumes adding up to about $20, well there goes the increase of $20 in price. So I guess really what your gettin as a bonus is the plush toy and bookend.
