Simpler Math:
$45 + $30 = $75 + tax - $25 GC = $50 + tax (on $75 :cry:) for two new games. Not bad, especially if the GC was a gift.

Agreed. Many of the problems that have arisen recently stem from the OP not being updated. We all understand your time is pretty damn valuable, and we appreciate the time you spend here- we really do, even if some don't show it- but a lot of these problems could be avoided by just keeping the OP updated.

Also, just a recommendation for KmartGamer thread 4.0, I think having 3-4 posts at the beginning of the thread (instead of 2) will help a lot more. In fact, I'd suggest 5 or 6 might even be necessary. If you find out they aren't, then you can always delete them later. You can't add them in later though.

Either way, it sounds amazing to me. I haven't been to kmart since the whole sc2 thing (Josh was great about it though and tried to do everything in his power).

The workers @ the kmart thought I was trying to pull something over on them. That same day I was there, a cashier got into a fist fight with a customer. Guess that was worth the 45 min drive.
 
What I do love about the entire thing is that Josh is striving hard to what basically ends up being Amazon quality customer service, and he's accomplishing it with a much smaller team. You don't really see stuff like that happening in most B&M stores. Even if it's just for the gaming department, in the event SHC decided to look at any of these things, both Kmart and Sears could turn into a very customer-centric B&M retailer, which is something that's been lost over time.

Exactly, he needs a lot more praise than he gets. Rare to find people like this, these days, who actually give a shit about customers or even other people.

I know I wasn't the nicest in my emails to him, but he was still very nice and professional throughout all of it, and was going out of his way to get it shipped to a closer store, etc.

I used to get that kinda service from the bestbuy managers back in the day, but I went in there daily after work/they knew me by name/etc.

My main concern is that even though we show inventory at the store I do get complaints about restocks. If you run into issues getting the cards just let me know and I'll work with you.

We're also sending signing in advance of the promo so the stores should be aware of what's going on.

Thanks for the update Josh! I still think I'll go for ME2 for $45 the following week and get DS2 for $30.
 
That sounds like a great deal, especially if it will stack with the "get 50% off" deal. Buy LBP2 or ME2 for $60, get DS2 and a $20 PSN card for $30. $90 for two new releases and a PSN card.
 
I've got this massive UPC list for the games that are coming out and relevant games that have launched and I literally can't find a way to keep the formatting when pasting into CAG.

Anyway around this or is this going to be a massive typing ordeal for me.

This actually should stack as you described. The PSN/XBLA deal is set up as an instant conditional offer which uses a completely different system than the BOGO system.

Been wanting to get dead nation for a while, and I am sure I can find some dlc to spend the rest on =P

Oh snap, I didn't even think of that! And I have a $10 off coupon that expires that week. Hmmm, looks like I'll be getting ME2, DS2, and $20 PSN for $80, AND I still have ~$50 in gift cards, so $30 out of pocket for all that?!:applause:

You could do a giant scan and just post it as a picture. Then when we click on it, we can zoom in to read it.
 
Josh, out of curiosity, will Kmart be carrying Dragon Quest VI when it releases? And if so is there any way to get the associates that will be working on release day to comprehend that it is quite possible for games to come out on a Monday?

Aside from a ginormous full page in the ad about Dragon Quest VI with giant font saying "yes, it will be available MONDAY, 2/14" or something, I think most Kmarts will not have it in stock- which will suck for people like me (I can only go to Kmart that Monday most likely).

Ok, so if I buy Dead Space 2 and Mass Effect 2 together on the day Dead Space 2 comes out, (1/25) it will be $44.99 for ME2 + $29.99 for DS2 and get a free $20 points card? That would be insane. Plus I have a $10 coupon that expires that week.

Ok, I see that ME2 will be on sale the following week. Guess I'll go with LBP 2 and DS2 instead of ME2 since I didn't really want it anyway. (Already finished it on 360)

That's a decent deal but are you guys going to be sending more points/PSN cards out to stores that have none? For example, the Bridgeton, MO store has none of the 1600 point cards or $20 PSN cards.
 
1,600 MS point card as the bonus for getting Dead Space 2? Bummer. My Kmart in Holyoke, MA hasn't had 1,600 MS cards in like 6 months.

We are contacting the primary vendor to issue another shipment, but as I stated before, I'll work with anyone who has issues securing the cards.
 
I get the feeling that this Spring is going to be an expensive one for me.

Definitely going to grab the LBP2 + Dead Space 2 deal.

Can't wait to see what more is offered, and hopefully we get a fix for the coupon issue soon, whenever I buy 2 games at once one of the games always gets the shaft and barely gets touched for awhile.

It's being published by Nintendo, which should mean a large release.

Yep, we'll carry it, and receive it the same time everyone else does. Good stores will put it out bad ones will struggle.

Throw in a family size bag of doritos and a 12pack of dew

Coupon issue will be fixed by early March, then tested, and a full roll out in April.

It also appears that I may be able to go back to instant activation as well.

This might be a dumb question, but are we restricted to getting the points card that corresponds to which version of DS2 we buy or can we "mix & match" them (e.g. buy DS2 for 360 and get the $20 PSN card free)?
 
Any chance of a B2G1 the week that Killzone/Bulletstorm release? For me at least, any way I can possibly get them for $40 each on average and I'll get them from Kmart.

Can you finalize the MvC3 deal ? I am about to buy it from Capcom.com store if I don't see any deal coming up soon on this. I think a lot of ppl here are on the same boat. thanks.

I was referring to the type of offer, yep, been tough. It has generally been preferred activity hear to take a standard approach to reducing inventory through clearance. The Feb. drop will be pretty solid.

LA Noire for me! It would be Last Guardian, but I don't think that is going to make it out this year.

Great price, although I have to admit I caved and bought it from Amazon. Sorry! Although I still have a $10 coupon from SMAS. I'm going to go into Kmart and find something to use it on. Hopefully it's something good.
Unless something happened, one of the Kmarts I'll stop by had like 50 copies of Harvest Moon: Animal Parade last I saw. :D

The Kmart in Tallahassee, FL has it marked for $29.99 and it's been prominently displayed for months at that price. No one's going to buy it at that price, when it was $7 at Amazon multiple times.

Also, in this drop will everything that's dropping be going to the same price (like in October)? Or will say $50 titles drop to $30, $40 titles drop to $20-25, etc?
 
Josh, I actually do hate to ask, and expect nothing; but is there any way to get a coupon with a 1/29 expiration date redeemed on 1/30?

Again, nobody flame me for asking, based on my last dealing with getting an issue resolved, my dealings with the SHC customer service department was beyond accommodating, and figured it wouldn't hurt to ask since I'm desperate.

I know this is probably a title that you have like 12 of in the entire chain, but any chance something like Blue Dragon Plus can drop from $29.99 (if it's still that price)? Yah, I know I'm a little late to the party on it. Especially considering the reviews.

Definitely trying to work out something, our offer on DQ IX worked well and I'd love to something similar.

The Feb. drop will focus on 2010 titles but we are working with every publisher on the really old stuff to try and put some room back in those cases.

Totally appreciate the question, but unfortunately no, legally I can't help out. I am very sorry.

If there is an issue at the store in which your coupon was denied or they had confirmed inventory that wasn't on the floor I could help.

I cannot wait to see what's in the February clearance drop. These deals are seriously making me think of buying DS2 and ME2 even though I don't really want them. It's just so hard for me to pass up a great deal.

Man, I'm away for a week and everything goes sideways. It seems like there's headway on the coupon issues though, so that makes me happy. And that instant activation could be coming back... well, that's icing on the cake. :bouncy:

On a side note, looking forward to:
-L.A. Noire
-Dead Space 2
-Uncharted 3
-Elder Scrolls V
-Portal 2
And a bunch of others, in addition to the 3DS and (probably) the PSP2. I don't know if Sony's reached out to retailers about it yet, but if they'll be launching it this year, I imagine they're going to have to start alerting their retail partners during Q1/Q2. If Kmart has good deals on any of this stuff, anyways, will definitely be picking them up.
