Is there any sort of an estimate on the release of Series 4 at TRU?
Probably by the end of this month....
Can you buy/use a used copy of Lego Universe? A friend has it and was going to let me borrow it.
I don't think so. It has a key and is tied to the account with log in, which pairs itself to the website.

you'd have to give away your lego ID.

It's $10 bucks right now... I'd say pay for it. You'll definately get at least $10 out of it.

Somebody has a couple of the figs from series 4 on Ebay, but no actual pictures of the packs just the pics they lifted off of Lego.com. Buyer beware.

Double VIP points until March 15th. Too bad they haven't put anything new up in the clearance section. Would like to pick up some of the PoP sets I couldn't get at KMart.

Kmart has an additional 20% off clearance toys right now, which makes Woody's Roundup, Toy Story 3 Incinerator and Tri-fighter $29. My store also had some Gateway of the Squids at $23. Nothing too special, but it's so dry right now...

Dry is good for my wallet ;).

Yeah, I'm glad for the break. Way too tempting to even grab the new train on April 1st ... and then there are the series 4 minifigures ... and then Alien Conquest ... it's going to get real expensive real fast in a few months.

...and Pirates (have to get the Queen Anne's Revenge ship) and the final wave of Atlantis (have to get the temple) and the next modular building (have to get it)...it's going to be BRUTAL.

I must live in a clearance free zone. I've visited Target, Kmart, Wal Mart, etc, and most of the sets people are seeing at 75 or 90 percent off are still at MSRP.

Thanks for the tips on the Series 3 Minifig at Wal-Mart. I got a few more that I needed.

Double points. I might have the excuse to order that Marsk Container Ship. I so want that new train too.
Those closing stores won't take the coupons

40% isn't to bad but mine haven't had any new stock in months
It's too bad Series 4 won't be out by Monday... 40% off would almost make them reasonably priced!

I somehow scored a Pop Star and Lifeguard on eBay for $.99/ea... if only the Cheerleader and Spaceman could fall to me so easily...

Lego stores are supposed to be having Series 1 parts in the build-a-minifig bins sometime in April. It's in the latest store flyer. Might be the first time I actually consider doing that.
How did you give them out for free?
Every month Lego Stores give something away for free with xx amount purchase.

Grr bastards with Lego stores…

…would be nice

ATTN to all so. cal particularly OC people, I just got an email that they are going to open a Lego Store at South Coast Plaze and they are going to have a build starring an 8 foot tall Yoda! Here are the details, I'm stoked because I have good reason to believe that they are going to be giving away a White Boba Fett MiniFig with the $35 purchase (Unless Lego has something new).

Friday, March 11: 11am - 7pm
Saturday, March 12: 10am - 6pm
Sunday, March 13: 12pm - 6pm

You'll get a free LEGO Star Wars Certificate of Achievement for helping, while supplies last! Plus, visit the LEGO Store during the event to enter for a chance to win a $50 LEGO Store Gift Card! No purchase necessary to enter.

Plus:
On Saturday, be one of the first 300 customers to spend $35 in the LEGO Store and you'll receive an exclusive, limited-edition LEGO Minifigure set!

On Sunday, the first 300 customers to spend $35 in the LEGO Store will receive an exclusive, limited-edition LEGO Minifigure T-Shirt! Shirts are available in child's sizes only.
Dang that's sweet. Wish I was up in So Cal then. Oh wells...
I just told the wife and she seems fine going with me, luckily she likes the mall that were going too.

That's odd that they're giving away a minifigure set. Most of the store openings have an exclusive building set that's related to the town the store is in, but I've never seen a minifig given away. It'll be interesting to see what it is if it isn't a boba fett fig.

Arnold Schwarzenegger minifig ;)

Lego.com has a job listing for retail grunts at a "Cleveland" location. I thought the new Beachwood store was it, but this makes me think I'll have 2 in my area soon. I hated working retail at Ace Hardware during high school, but I'm tempted to fill out an application even with being at law school... I think I could definitely deal with the BS of retail if I got to be around Legos all day. :whistle2:k

Beachwood is probably it, actually... but I wonder why they'd still be looking for workers and a sales manager with the store opening less than a month away?

Does Legoland count? I live 20 minutes away.

Hmm, interesting about the Yoda Build ... there's one going on in San Mateo up in Nor Cal coming up ... this weekend maybe?

But the interesting part is there's no mention of a minifigure, but they are giving out a collectible Yoda duplo block ... yeah, not really too excited about that ... but maybe I should call the store and ask about the figure (or even call the So Cal store ... and go for a drive ;) .. white freaking boba fett ...)

P.S. I am so psyched for Series 4 .. if only because they're orange bags ... I feel the need to hoard an entire box just because I like the color ;)

I never been there, I will pretty soon though! I don't understand your question though, I know they have some giant store near the main entrance, at least from what I have heard but I'm sure any promotion running at all Lego Stores would run there too.

You should totally go to the Southcoast Plaza event! Where do you live Escondido or further south? It wouldn't be a too far of a drive for you, just up the 5.

EDIT: I hope its not that block, or at least not in place for the minifigure because I'll take the yoda block too. I really hope it is the White Boba Fett, I bought one on eBay last year some time I payed around $39 for it, I just saw listings on eBay and they are way way cheaper, saw one for $25 shipped. Makes me think if it's worth the drive but I know my daughter will enjoy it!

Good luck to anyone trying to hit up the Costa Mesa store for the freebie. As far as I've been hearing through the local LUG, the 2 main LUGs down south have been planning to attend for months. I'm sure that will easily account for half of the promos available. And imagine if they bring family who make purchases of their own.

I've been to the Buzz Lightyear building event in San Mateo, CA. The build was done outside the store in an open area. Once you've done your part in building, you go to the store and they issue you a building certificate with your name on it and a Duplo brick. I'm sure that will be the same for the Yoda building event, but the promo for the purchase will most likely be different.

I remember doing a survey about store openings recently and one of the questions was asking what I would like at a store opening as far as freebies/promos go. The options were: 1. Get an exclusive set that relates to the store/area. 2. Exclusive Minifigure or 3. Other.

I picked option 2.

Series 4 box breakdown just posted on Eurobricks, along with reviews of each fig. Good news, the rarest fig is the Mad Scientist--a total NON-army builder.

3 Lawn Gnomes
4 Kimono Girls
3 Musketeers
5 Punk Rockers
4 Surfer Girls
3 Vikings
4 The Monsters
3 Hockey Players
4 Street Skaters
5 Sailors
4 Soccer Players
5 Werewolves
4 Hazmat Guys
4 Artists
3 Ice Skaters
2 Crazy Scientists

Click over for the reviews. Series 4 gets my vote for best series yet.

Next year, we should to nominate this thread for best CAG Forum Thread (non-deal).

I'm going on Lego withdrawal... I haven't bought anything Lego related in over a month  Bring back those deals!

Same here, this Saturday assuming I get the freebie will be my first purchase in about 2 months, give or take.
Yeah, I saw them here or somewhere recently. I specifically remember the dinosaur dude and the graduate.
I think Bigdaddy posted a pic a while back.

Need advice, I have Duplo sets for my daughter and I've held on to the boxes. The boxes are not small, so the question is. Should I dump them or save them?

Go for a big set at the Legostore! I want to take advantage of the double points promo while I can. Wish I could splurge on a Death Star, oh well.

My Target put out it's Easter section yesterday, and there is no spot on the planogram for series 4 minifigs. I got the mini AT-ST, but they didn't have any of the Ninjago minidragons...both are $3.99. Also saw the new City Space Shuttle in the regular Lego section, but that was the only new set I saw.

Ha! Beat me to it by two minutes. Sorry for the double post. The Toy Story Train is a nice set--a little small, but full of interesting pieces, green windows, red cow-catcher, large red trian wheels.

This is a train set and a licensed set. Those two factors guarantee a high resale price a few years down the line. I'm tempted to buy one just to resell in five years.

hey everyone...Meijer has all toy story lego's 50% off and world racer 25-50% off - plus today only there is a coupon for $5 off purchase of 19.97 or more...I picked up the woodys roundup 7594 and trash compactor 7596 for $40 total and the world racer swamp boat 8899 (the 50 dollar set) for 15
I saw three galactic enforcers at my local target... Price? $100.99.
Same at my local Taret. There has been an end cap with 10 of these sitting at 69.XX, today I was in looking, and they've moved back to the main lego aisle and are marked (and scanned) 100.99. wtf?
