Prices... reduced?... Lego?

You must be new here.
They were reduced in Canada to $15.49. The only reason I see them doing that is because they were so insanely priced that people weren't buying them. It has nothing to do with the glue.
I want to jump on the Groupon wagon, but how are people buying/using multiple coupons when it's limited to 1 per account?
Set up as many accounts as you want.
I want to jump on the Groupon wagon, but how are people buying/using multiple coupons when it's limited to 1 per account?
Or do what I did and send them as gifts to different email addresses you own.

Haha, awesome I'll definitely get that going.

Hey bigdaddy you should go for the Battle of Alamut. I was hoping to get it for $23 clearance at Rockefeller, but those morons made me go over there and then told me they had none in stock. I would have picked up one for you. This is the next best thing.

I would need to buy 8 Groupons to do that, I also like the Space Police base and the City plane.

I don't want to have $150 and then BN.com go "This no longer works on LEGOs".

I'm just passing on everything, I need to save money.
New City set...

I think it's an "exclusive" because it wasn't with the catalog pictures we got before...
Cool, though it looks more like a World Racer set.
This would go with the theme of the Marina, strange that they wouldn't have more boats though to race against.

I've ordered the Ninjago and planning on doing it again... only worth while set.

The problem with the POTC sets are that the Groupon will go down to 10 in 3 months. When are the sets suppose to be released? May? or before April 1st?

If things work out with the groupon and coupon, I hope to grab a City Police set from BN. My son has quite a bit of last year's City Fire Dept sets and he would probably enjoy having a nice big police set to add to it.

I suppose you could mix the World Racer and Marina themes up, if you wanted "racing" play.

The Marina theme will have 5 sets, all with boats.

There is a small racing boat, this boat, a fishing boat, the marina boat and the big cargo ship. All of which are supposed to float.

I was asking about this earlier. I wonder if they will charge you now and just ship later for PotC? If so, I'm ready to order the ship. I have a groupon ready to go, with 30% off and the 10% they have now. That would rule all! :bouncy:
Online you can apply up to 3 of these, and contrary to the opinion in the groupon thread, it appears to work fine. I used 2 when ordering my Bounty Hunter ship and it is scheduled to ship tomorrow. The SP base would only cost you around $30 if you bought 3 and used them for your order.
Abort! Abort! Abort!

I'm reading on other forums that stacking of the Groupon Certificates is getting their orders cancelled! Did yours ship yet? I'm thinking you probably got in before they started cracking down, but lately, they are cancelling them. Just FYI.

I can't get the links to work, but they ship May 1st.

You will not get charged till it ships, that's how most transactions are suppose to charge, so your groupon will be only 10.

not something I'd gamble on.

I've stacked 2 on the set and with the 30% I only paid 11 for it. it'll ship tomorrow.

Where are you reading that they were canceled? SD hasn't reported any from what I read.

People are just panicking about this bn stuff. I got my order shipped today. Bn is just a bad online retailer, randomly canceling stuff and rarely "cracking down." They are getting swamped with orders and that is probably why things are getting canceled.
I agree with ackbar. BN's online store is kind of a mess as far the coupons and cancelations go.
That sucks. At the very least I was hoping to get one coupon and with the 30% off I could get the City Passenger Plane for $20.

TnB has some more new pictures...

This looks interesting, a small Hagworts...
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/_SvZKGtymdxw/TVA7h65_HLI/AAAAAAAAC_I/MsDQbd-QQp8/foto40.png

If this ends up $20 I'll probably buy it...

Both of those look pretty interesting. The Hogwarts looks kind of like a large battle pack. Not a whole lot of pieces, but 7 minifigs. It will be very interesting to see what the price on that is.
The ewok set is nice and I hope that the price is not too much for that. Looks to me like something that would be in the $15-20 range. It'd be nice to get 2 or 3 of them just for a few extra ewoks.

For someone with that name I figured you should know better.

It will most likely be $25 like the Hoth set, maybe $20 because of the lack of minifigures, but Star Wars = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

However $15? That set would have been $15 when LEGO Star Wars started 12 years ago. :p

$20 seems likely, though a little high. The Hoth set has 3 minifigs (including the skeleton) and a Wampa. Plus the cave and speeder, which look more substantial than the tree and speeder in the ewok set. If it is $25 that is way too much, and even $20 seems a little high compared to the Wampa cave.
Also I haven't been buying many SW sets these days, too many cartoon/prequel sets and better sets in other lines. Though I did buy Home One as soon as it was available, for obvious reasons. That was quite an overpay at this point.

I meant this set...
http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=7749-1

It's $25 for 5 minifigures and the dino dude, but still only like 150 pieces. It's LEGO Star Wars and they are ripoffs. A land speeder for $25?! So I wouldn't be surprised if this was $25 just because of the recent price increases, and the fact the license expires this year, no matter what the Eurobricks fuckers say. It hasn't been officially extended yet, I figured that will happen in a couple weeks at the TYC Toy Fair.

$20 I think is fair, LEGOs are no longer anything close to being cheap or reasonably priced, besides Atlantis it seems.

Once my Groupon code shows up, it looks like I'll be getting the SP Base for about $15 after stacking the 30% off, Groupon, $25 GC I had, and $10 in my paypal account. :bouncy:

Mine shipped today. Ordered the Space Police set. Only used one Groupon though. People were getting shipped status and then cancels (using more than 1 on same order). I saw the SD posts and some on Blu-ray site. People were buying Nooks and other high ticket items all with Groupons. They are apparently cracking down on stacking, especially at retail. All the buy/return talk there is insane.

Since PotC is May, I might order and hope the Groupon sticks. Then again, my son is loving the Ninjago stuff now, so I might get those.

Am I the only one who thinks that the music and imagery from the very beginning of the video mirrors the thoughts bigdaddy wakes up to each morning? ;)
The thoughts I usually wake up to can't be discussed in the same place where a child's toy is being discussed. :)

However those thoughts are women (and clothing) free.

But at least the music is the same, right? ;) ;)

Oh ... and did you guys see the "Dungeons & Dragons" type game that LEGO is going to be releasing ... hehe, anyone know any more about that, sort of a bizarre concept but mildly intriguing?

lego15.JPG

Heroica is going to be great if they don't make it too simple.

there is a Lego RPG out there, but this is on a micro scale.

I'm definately going to pick up all of them or a few of each, but I won't have anyone to play with :(
But at least the music is the same, right? ;) ;)
How did you know?!?!

And oddly enough there is also a Dungeons & Dragons theme to my thoughts sometimes. ;)

Bah, I really want to get the Harry Potter Legos but some of those sets are way too much. I couldn't believe people were paying $150 for the Castle at TRU, I would have pointed them the right direction but if there dumb enough to pay $150 then so be it!

Thanks for the link though!
Not sure if you guys have seen this, I know I was waiting (not so) patiently for it. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=49915&st=300

Scroll halfway down and there is an official image of the Harry Potter Battle of Hogwarts Lego set. I am kinda pumped for this one!
Didn't I just post that a few hours ago?

The amount of people in TRU in the 8-10 days I worked there, and the three I was in the LEGO section, that was asking for $100 to $500 sets, the Death Star, the MF, was amazing! Oddly enough no one ever asked for a Clone Wars set, it was always OT or some OT minifigure.

Yet whenever I was in the LEGO aisle of Target it was always Clone Wars and Atlantis.

I think Original Trilogy is going to be big in the next year maybe two, my wallet is really going to hurt but I think that Endor set is going to be at least $25. The tree trunks look pretty lame though, they need to be way bigger, they brought down a chicken walker for crying out loud.
Didn't I just post that a few hours ago?

So you did. Sorry! But thanks all the same.. Now I just need some pics of the Forbidden Forest!

No biggy, we are getting a forest scene? Pretty cool, Lego seems to like trees this year. The HP set, the Ewok set, the Kingdoms set all have more trees in them than we have gotten... ever from LEGO.
The tree trunks look pretty lame though, they need to be way bigger, they brought down a chicken walker for crying out loud.
Are you sure it's the LEGO set that is lame and just not that part of the movie?

I just really hope it's not a Clone Wars set... gods that would be horrid.

I bought one Groupon, and now I'm thinking about it I should have bought another. They have the City Passenger Plane for $18 with the Groupon and the 30% off, but I didn't notice they also have the Creator house with the dark blue roof for $22 with the codes. Now I don't know which one to buy. They also have the PoP dagger fight set that would be $11.... hmmmm.....

I bought two Groupons just to nab the same Creator set. Go for the Apple House! For $20 I won't complain. Now all I have to wait for is that second coupon to "clear" tomorrow. Ugh...

Any Groupons can be used right away. I used mine just this morning and it was not "ready" till tomorrow

Bought two ninjago skellie castles for only 55 shipped

I know, but while working at TRU I saw the plane and it's really really nice looking!

The only decent Cars set...
http://amodularlife.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/lightning-mcqueen.jpg?w=557&h=300

And TnB has a ton of Star Wars minifigure pictures....

http://toysnbricks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2022&start=20#p16818

I like the new hair for Luke.

Wow, those prequel set pics almost make me want to buy a couple for the minifigures .... hard to believe. The pod racers almost look cool ... and that's saying alot coming from someone who can't stand the prequels. At least they aren't more battle droid sets ... ugh

I have the plane--it's pretty cool, although the way the landing gear and support is designed, the plane sits too low to the ground for "realistic" play.

Clone Wars is my favorite right now--the Genosian pilot looks pretty cool.

I ordered the City Police Station for $60 shipped after groupon and kids club code, and they it put into to process for shipping pretty quickly after that.

When did you buy it? Today the price was $90, did you get it for $100?

I like the plane too, I like the plane and the house, but didn't buy two coupons, like I should have. So I'm leaning more towards the house, but I still really like the plane. :)

Blah, of course the price goes down after I buy the damn thing. I'll try shoot an email to their CS since the item hasn't shipped yet, but BN isn't too good about that sort of thing. Heck, I may be lucky for the thing not to get canceled even! :p

Someone is looking to buy from me series 3 minifigures. I have 15 out of 16 of them sealed. Do you think $50 is an ok price? I am missing the street punk.

Being the bump code doesn't work you might have doubles. How are you certain you have most?

Also I'd charge slightly more because at $3 a piece and tax are you even getting your money back?

This on both accounts!

Sometimes the bumps just aren't visible or palpable, and sometimes they seem to be slightly differently placed (likely due to movement of the packet as they are stamped or whatever).

I had always wondered if packet weight wasn't a better indicator. Surely each minifig doesn't weigh exactly the same. In fact, maybe I'll try it with some packets I have and a smaller digitial food scale that is sitting in my kitchen...and if I can get my hands on one, an ultra-sensitive digital scale used for very accurate small scale measurements.

Edit: The packets seem to weigh between 10 and 12 grams, but the food scale isn't any more accurate than that.
